In winter, Dodge Ridge is 20 miles up the road, where you can spend the days skiing and snowboarding. Come back home and get cosy in the living room with a glass of wine around a warm fire (firewood provided), then walk to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner, or stay in and cook your own in the well equipped kitchen.
Year round, visit the many wineries, bistros, art galleries, and boutiques. Sonora is 15 minutes away, Murphys is 45. Make a day trip (just over 2 hours) to visit world famous Half Dome, one of many splendors in Yosemite National Park.

Why the Owner Chose Twain Harte
This cabin has been in my family for 44 years. In 1965 our family went to Twain Harte for a two week summer vacation. We rented a rustic little cabin. As soon as we arrived we were all quite taken with the charming town, woodsy surroundings, and the wonderful Twain Harte Lake. My mother immediately started looking for (and found) a cabin to buy. We have enjoyed many wonderful times there over the years and hope you will, too.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
As an artist I always take a project to work on while vacationing. I am always inspired in Twain Harte, and can find plenty of room to work, either on the deck or on the wide kitchen counter. When I need a break, I hike up the road, then down and around to a beautiful little lake. I love the smell of Twain Harte. It comes from a plant called Mountain Misery. I can't tell you why it is so named, but it is a delightful smell and it tells me I'm home.
