When you enter the town of Twain Harte you step back in time to a carefree era of lake swimming, sunbathing, barbecues, strolling downtown, miniature golf... Staying at Casa Bella blends the best of both worlds, an old-fashioned vacation and a contemporary setting.
Close to downtown Twain Harte you'll find this hidden gem. Casa Bella has leaded glass windows, rustic fir floors, and a French armoire. Recent renovations have given this mountain cabin a fresh new look.
In the great room enjoy the large, comfy leather chairs and big couch for reading, lazing, or watching movies.
The bedrooms each have a queen bed with down comforters. The first bedroom has a peaked pine ceiling, antique leaded glass windows, and a French armoire. The second bedroom has a full bookshelf and a connected half-bath. For additional sleeping there's also a futon in the living room which opens into a full bed.
In summer have a barbecue, sunbathe, enjoy happy hour and dine on the deck. For swimming, sunning, and socializing you will want to spend time at beautiful Twain Harte lake. You have LAKE PRIVILEGES! Choose the sandy beach or "the rock" and swim out to one of the many rafts. You will enjoy this serene, private oasis. We have beach chairs. Twain Harte also has a public golf course and tennis courts. For family fun you will love the not-too-challenging miniature golf course. Saturday nights from 6 to 8 PM mid June through early September, walk downtown to Eproson Park for "Concerts in the Pines", a free outdoor concert featuring a different band every week.
In winter Dodge Ridge is 20 miles up the highway where you can spend the days skiing and snowboarding, or go to Leland High Sierra Snowplay in Strawberry, for sledding and tubing. Come back home and get cozy in the living room by the (gas) fireplace with a glass of wine then walk to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner or stay in and cook your own in our well-equipped kitchen. Eat at the dining table or the spacious granite counter.
Make a day trip (just over two hours) to visit world-famous Half Dome, one of many splendors in Yosemite National Park. Also visit nearby wineries, bistros, art galleries and boutiques. Sonora is 15 minutes away Murphys is 45. After your travels you will look forward to returning to the pine forests of Twain Harte and the quiet comfort of Casa Bella.

Why the Owner Chose Twain Harte: Casa Bella has been in my family for 50 years. In 1965 our family went to Twain Harte for a two week summer vacation. We rented a rustic little cabin. As soon as we arrived we were all charmed by the town, the woodsy surroundings, and wonderful Twain Harte Lake. My mother immediately found a cabin to buy. We have enjoyed many wonderful times here over the years and hope you will, too.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: I like to take a project to work on while vacationing. I am always inspired in Twain Harte, and can find plenty of room to work, either on the deck or on the wide kitchen counter. When I need a break, I hike up the road, then down and around to a beautiful little lake.
I love the smell of Twain Harte. It comes from a plant called Mountain Misery. I can't tell you why it is so named, but it is a delightful smell and it tells me I'm home.
