  Our family spent an entire week at the playhouse paradise and we had a blast. The decor of the house far exceeds any expectations of a rental property and you really feel right at home. The house has everything you would need, comfortable beds and relaxation taking in the lake and mountain views. Our family went to the resort daily and our kids loved the all the pools and the lake! My husband relaxed by enjoying fishing off the dock and on the boat. We also spent a day touring Chimney rock which is a must see especially the waterfall and then we went into town for an amazing authentic Mexican lunch at Tia B's and sat outside on the deck over looking the river. We would most definetly consider going back next year and highly reccomend this home to anyone.

  Our family treasured our stay at Paradise Playhouse. The property is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. We had a great time taking advantage of the resort activities (golf courses, restaurants, etc.) but our best times by far were playing in the lake - swimming and boating. With basketball, billiards, ping pong and swimming on-site, there was never a dull moment. The local horseback riding stables were another source of family fun for all ages. We drove into Asheville on a rainy day for lunch and pottery-painting. What a great way to relax and have fun with the family. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.

  This vacation rental exceeded our expectations! The photos on the website do not do the house justice. The owners thought of everything to make our vacation so relaxing and enjoyable. Every room and all the furniture in the house is comfortable and well-appointed. The views of the mountains and private lake are superb. We enjoyed many hours on the deck listening to and watching all the wildlife while enjoying spending time with our family in such a peaceful atmosphere. The resort and amenities were very nice however we ended up spending most of our time swimming and fishing in the private lake. It was so nice to have a second living room plus a game room downstairs for the kids to enjoy. The area is beautiful. We didn't want to leave and would love to return here again!

  What a beautiful home - my wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The views were fantastic all around, and the area full of beauty and history. We loved getting out to the nearby Chimney Rock park and local shopping, as well as the not too far Biltmore estate, but we also enjoyed quiet time at the house just as much, with the tranquil private lake and mountain views, and all the amenities we could need. I would recommend this property to anyone, and we will certainly consider another vacation here ourselves!

  Paradise Playhouse was incredible!!! We have a family with 4 children ages 5 through 15. I spent days looking at every vrbo home because I wanted to find a really good one. Not only did I find a good one, I found the best! I can't even imagine that there could be a better home that would suit us better. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice because they don't show the beautiful open upstairs family room, master bedroom, bath and kitchen. The house exceeded our expectations by far! When we walked in my whole family was so excited including my husband and 15 year old son. The house is decorated so beautiful and it is immaculately clean. It looks as if it has been professionally decorated. In addition, there is a complete game room with a ping pong table and pool table. My family spent hours in the game room. We spent 11 days there and when I walked in I was afraid that we would never want to leave the home. That is how beautiful, yet warm and cozy the house was. That is just the inside!! The house is on Shumont Lake which is a beautiful private lake. The views were incredible. We spent so much time in the lake and hanging out on the dock. The owners have been an absolute joy. They add so many personal and welcoming touches to the house. They have been very responsible and reliable. The activities available around Lake Lure were more than I had expected. We did everything from ziplining, horseback riding, hiking, whitewater kayaking and rafting, all within 30 minutes of the home. We also went to Biltmore Estates and Asheville which was great. There are great restaurants in Lake Lure although the house was so nice we enjoyed eating at home. It was great for us to have access to Rumbling Bald resort mostly to use the fitness center. We preferred swimming in the lake and hanging at the house than taking full advantage of all that the resort offered. I am so grateful that I took the time to research all of the homes for rent in Lake Lure because my efforts led us to an amazing home and as a result, the best vacation!

  Each summer we rent a house on the beach or a lake and invite the grandparents on both sides of the family to join us for an old-fashioned family vacation. This is our third year vacationing at Lake Lure and our first using VRBO. It definitely won't be our last! Paradise Playhouse was the perfect vacation house for a family ranging in age from 10 to 89. The house is even more beautiful than the photos, carefully maintained and spotlessly clean. Parking is available near the front door which made access easy for older family members who don't walk as steadily as they used to. There also were two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, on opposite sides of the main floor for privacy. The spacious kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and the dining area was comfortable both for meals and games. The living room had plenty of comfortable seating, a great lake view, and a coffee table big enough for jigsaw puzzles. Both the dining area and living room open to a large deck. A few houses are visible through the trees in summer but the location is so private it's easy to imagine you're alone in the world, watching the hawks soar overhead or the thunderclouds roll by. Downstairs, there's a third bedroom with private bath, along with a family room where the kids can watch videos on the giant TV while the grownups visit upstairs (there's a half-bath adjacent to the family room) and a separate game room with a great pool table and ping pong table. The basketball hoop is right outside the game room. This would be a fabulous vacation home with plenty to do even if it wasn't located on a lake. But oh, the lake! The best thing about this home is its location on beautiful, quiet, Shubow Lake. The lake is clean and clear and, at least in late July, the perfect temperature. The kids dove and did cannonballs from the dock, floated on rafts, and tried out the home's rowboat. I'm not a big fan of lake swimming but even I spent hours swimming here. The home includes access to the amenities of Rumbling Bald resort. We took advantage of a one-day kids water sports program at the resort (the staff for the kids program is wonderful!) and visited the pool complex another day but preferred spending our time at "our" lake. The owner was very accommodating, rescheduling deck painting to suit our vacation dates. The other vacation homes we've rented in the area -- at a similar cost -- just can't compare. I'm off to make my reservation for next year!

  My family found this house exactly as described. Possibly the best VRBO experience we've had. It is well maintained, spotless upon arrival with a local caretaker available to answer questions. The architecture is open with a beautiful kitchen area that flows into a massive living room. The three bedrooms are all huge, very nice. There is a big back yard that leads to a small private lake, great for kids that like to fish or ride around on the provided bass boat. Since the house is located within the Rumbling Bald Resort you have total access to a country club atmosphere. Five minutes from the property is a beautiful white sand beach. Also in the same resort area are two swimming pools and of course golf courses. 15 minutes away is an Ingles grocery on Rt. 9 and the city of Lake Lure is also just around the corner. With Chimney Rock State Park nearby this was a combination of a Smokys / Beach vacation. We did the Chamber of Commerce tour; one full day at the Biltmore Estate, did a zip line near Boone, NC, Grandfather Mountain, enjoyed a stroll in the town of Blowing Rock, NC as well as many other small NC towns. I even found a Civil War site to investigate. So, yes I do recommend this house. This is a VRBO that we will consider going back to.
