This is a beautiful 2 story Log Cabin home overlooking Lake Norfork. The log cabin was built by the Amish in 1988. The Fireplace was built using stones from creeks on the property.

Lake Norfork is known for some of the best bass fishing in the United States. And some great diving.

The land is popular for deer and turkey huntering. With over 300 acres to enjoy, as well as 1200acres of bordering goverment corp property on both sides, open to horse back riding, hiking and biking !!! or play pool in the Game room downstairs.

The location is a great set up for hunting, fishing or boating. bring your horses, ATV's or RENT one,
Trails are cut through the woods for fun on the 4 wheelers.

For all friends and families interested in more outdoor recreation, Lake Norfork is known for fishing ,scuba diving, boating jetsking, and the White River that feeds the lake is great for kayaking and canoeing trips. The WHITE RIVER is world class and holds many TROUT RECORDS.
Were located in Gamaliel Arkansas, just 15 miles North of Mountain Home Arkansas. It's only a few 100 yards to the water !

Relaxing is great Too! You can sit on the back porch and watch the sun rise or set, as well as watch the wild game wonder. There is a stone fireplace that makes for a very romantic setting. For people who want to be outside there is a nice fire pit set up right next to cabin.

Honestly it doesn't get much more free and relaxing than this. The property is also conveniently located 80 miles from Branson, near Bull Shoals Lake, and Gaston's Restaurant (Look it up) is very close by. Please call and set up a free tour of the property, I promise you won't be displeased !!!!

We enjoyed our stay at #269494. The log home provided a get-away from the hustle and bustle of big-city life, but with a few familiar touches of home, like satellite TV and internet connections. The amenities are, as expected, rustic. The linens got the job done, and the kitchen had the basics. If you are into cooking, you will want to take your own pots and pans, and knives. We had a fun experience trying to get an acorn squash to cut open. We saw deer multiples times and day, and enjoyed the trails around the property, and played ice basketball on many of the frozen lakes. It is very quiet and relaxing and the stars are great. We did find it odd that the main sitting area only seated 4 people (couch and chair), in a house that sleeps 8-12. The last two days we did have to find our own firewood, as there was not enough provided. Also, the heater for the house never kept the house warm, only the fires. So make sure you bring very warm clothes, if going in the winter. We were very happy that we could bring our dog along with us, the house even provided a dog bed (we did not use.) But we could also tell the tenants before us had a dog becasue there were multiple instances of dog fur floating about, which did not match our breed.

The pictures of the VRBO rental # 269494 made it look alot better than it really was in person. It was quaint & secluded with much privacy and views of the lake, but the inside of the house was outdated, (no dishwasher, the utensils were lacking), was not cleaned very well, beds in basement were inadequate, and a strong smell of moth balls throughout the house. Other than that, the owner (Guy) was kind and helpful with a couple of problems (no hot water and moth balls). He seemed concerned that we were dissappointed with the condition of the home but offered no discount or refund on our rental fee, although did state we could come another time at no charge. He did come out while we were staying there and mow, worked on the water heater and straightened up a bit. I would not recommend to a friend.

The PERFECT Thanksgiving family get away! I do mean AWAY! If you don't like being miles from businesses and people, you might want to rethink. We LOVED it! Lots of room to roam. The house was comfortable enough but not so fancy you felt you might touch something and it would damage. The one improvement I would suggest is to clean out closets and drawers except for necessary items especially in kitchen. There was not room to put groceries etc. when staying 4 nights. All in all it was the BEST THANKSGIVING EVER for our family. We hope we may be able to make it a tradition every couple of years! Thanks for providing! The description and pics were fairly accurate regarding the location. The owners were very helpful and I would recommend this to another family or friend in a minute if I knew they truly wanted to get away! Thanks!

We rented this cabin for my birthday and it was perfect. Our group was a mixture of outdoor people and those who would rather stay in and enjoy their technology/electronics. The outdoor people got to enjoy the 4 wheeling and awesome trails, and sit on the back porch and enjoy the scenery and wildlife; while the others got to enjoy wi-fi, tv, and just good ol' air conditioning. It worked out perfect for all that attended. Also, the dogs got to go and they loved every moment of it! The house even had a doggie bed and water bowls for them. I really appreciate getting to share my vacation with my fur babies so that was a huge bonus! Hope to come back soon!

Awesome - This was our second vacation at this same cabin.... It has not changed a bit. Guy is still a wonderful host. He had everything nice and clean and waiting for us. Even called to see when we would be arriving. The cabin was so peaceful and restful. We were greeted by deer and turkey every morning. The 19 yr old and 20 yr old daughters and the dog just loved the outdoors. The 4-wheelers were lots of fun and even though everything was very dry they even managed to find a mud puddle to play in. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is wanting to "Get Away" from all the constant rush of everyday life. Guy, thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin and unwind and relax with our family.

2 parents, 1 mother-in-law, 5 kids and 1 large dog.... We had a great time on this property!! The dog and kids were able to run free without the restrictions of the city, the parents and mother-in-law were able to enjoy coffee on the back porch overlooking grazing cows and the beautiful lake. We could enjoy a slower-paced life, but still able to watch a movie at night, wash clothes as we messed them up, and cook our meals. We will definitely refer this place to our friends who are looking for a getaway of their own.

We rented this secluded and peaceful cabin in Sept 2011 to celebrate my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary. The weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed relaxing on the back porch, and walking the many trails on the property. Every day we had deer and turkey within sight of the cabin. The nieces and nephews enjoyed making s'mores at the fire pit in the front yard. The beds were comfortable. If you plan to cook meals at the cabin, I would suggest buying your groceries either in Mountain Home or West Plains as there are not many options in Gamaliel itself. If you are looking to "get away from it all" this is the place to be.

This is the perfect place for a family who wants to get away and make memories without having to leave the vacation house. My only complaint is that we didn't have more days to explore! The four-wheeler rental is such a plus and allows you to look all over the beautiful property with many ponds and creeks (unfortunately because of drought many of the creeks were dry but the spring was still running!) with deer everywhere you turn. We hung out and bbq-ed everyday, played pool, and sports in the yard. At night we could sit around the bonfire or watch movies in the comfy home. If you do decide you want to head out, Mountain Home is just a short drive from everything you need, and there's a boat rental for Lake Norfork only 15 minutes away that was very reasonable and provides a whole other day of fun. I would definitely return and the only suggestion my family and I talked about was that it would've been nice to have some kind of property map so we could see even more of the expansive property. Thanks to the owner, Guy, for being so accomodating!!

I rented the cabin from Guy for my girlfriend's birthday. Was going to be 12 people, but ended up being 10, which was actually perfect. With the 4 double beds and the 2 couches, there was no need to get out the air mattresses. I found the air to be adequate in keeping up with the heat, since there were 3 or 4 window units to bolster the central air. Keep the sun room door open to the house, and the air circulates well, since there are two units in the sun room. The place is very nice, well built, and has 2 full baths, which was nice, too. The 4-wheelers were a big hit with the guys, and everyone loved having the pool table downstairs. I saw turkey driving in, and we saw deer every day. Plenty of 4-wheeler trails, and lots of old barns to take pictures of while riding around. Guy is super nice and always available to call with questions. Take tick repellent. It's a farm, not the suburbs. That made it even better. Thanks Guy!
