Waters Edge or as we like to call it "Almost Heaven" is a 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage fully equipped for rental. Flat screen TV's and large Open floor plan kitchen dining and living room with great views facing the lake. There is good "off street" parking for two vehicles, and remote parking for boat trailers, etc.
We have recently purchased the home and it currently has a long term renter in it through March. Currently the rear entry has 3 steps, however, we are adding a wheelchair/handicap accessible ramp from the parking area to the rear entry door of the house by the mid of October 2009. Also at present the bathrooms are simply standard tub/showers and commodes, but we plan on making them more accessible for the handicapped in spring 2010. However, the house is a SINGLE LEVEL home which makes it great for families with small children and anyone who has problems with - or simply does not want to deal with stairs.

We love motorcycling as the picture bears witness to, and the area of our rental home is some of the best biking country around. I own the management company of the resort where our rental home is located. We love water sports, movies and anything a 3 year old loves right now! We have children aged, 38, 25, and 3, as well as grandchildren 7 and 4. One of our newer passions is RVing, and of course Texas A&M and Alabama Football. Gig 'em Aggies and Roll Tide!!
Why the Owner Chose Leesburg
We purchased this rental unit because of the great getaway location on the best part of Weiss Lake...Yellow Creek area in the mountains of Northeast Alabama. The fact that it is less than 2 hours from Atlanta, Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Huntsville AL makes it a great getaway weekend or week long vacation. The fact that all amenities the resort offers are included in the rental price of our home makes it very affordable as well. The resort that the rental unit is located in was begun in 2005 and our house was built in 2008. It is a very family oriented place with 2 pools, waterslide, 2 playgrounds and many other amenities that appeal to us a parents of a 3 year old and grandparents to a 7 and 4 year old. We lived on the lake full time less than 1/4 mile from where this rental home is, and when our 3 year old came along, we decided to move back into town for the schools, and decided to buy a home in the resort so we could still enjoy the lake and enjoy all the amenities without the hassles of lawn maintenance, etc.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our rental home is about 150 ft from the resort beach, kayak, and paddle boat area of the lake and centrally located about 200 feet between each of the two swimming pools and within easy walking distance of the 120 ft waterslide, playgrounds, tennis courts etc. The HUGE front porch is great for relaxing and enjoying the view of the lake and mountains. The staff at the resort is always helpful, and we love the continental breakfast offered during peak season. Of course we use the gas grill for most of our evening meals, and just love the relaxed feel of the resort. My personal favorite time is early morning as the sun comes up, sitting on the front porch enjoying a fresh cup of coffee with flavored with real Irish Cream...it just doesn't get any better than this.
