"Almost Heaven" is a 1200 sg ft 3 bedroom 2 bath SINGLE LEVEL cottage fully equipped for for your vacation fun. 4 Flat screen TV's, DVD player, Wii Game console, and large open floor plan kitchen dining and living room with great views facing the lake. There is private "off street" parking for two vehicles, and remote parking for boat trailers, etc. Plenty of additional parking in front of the house. Great Water and mountain views from the full width front covered porch/deck. Fully eqipped kitchen,with full size stove, refrig w/icemaker, wall mounted microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and laundry room with full size washer and dryer. Gas grill ready for the steaks!
The rear entry has a wheelchair / handicap accessible ramp and a seperate 3 step access from the parking area to the rear entry door of the house. Also, the house is a SINGLE LEVEL home which makes it great for families with small children and anyone who has problems with - or simply does not want to deal with stairs.

About the owner: We love motorcycling as the picture bears witness to, and the area of our rental home is some of the best biking country around. We love watersports, movies and anything a 4 year old loves right now! We have children aged, 40, 26, and 4, as well as grandchildren 8 and 6. One of our newer passions is RVing, and of course Texas A&M and Alabama Football. Gig 'em Aggies and Roll Tide!!
Why the Owner Chose Leesburg:
We purchased this rental unit because of the great getaway location on the best part of Weiss Lake...Yellow Creek area in the mountains of Northeast Alabama. The fact that it is less than 2 hours from Atlanta, Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Huntsville AL makes it a great getaway weekend or week long vacation. The fact that all amenities the resort offers are included in the rental price of our home makes it very affordable as well. The resort that the rental unit is located in was begun in 2005 and our house was built in 2008. It is a very family oriented place with 2 pools, waterslide, 2 playgrounds and many other amenities that appeal to us a parents of a 5 year old and grandparents to 9 and 7 year olds. We lived on the lake full time less than 1/4 mile from where this rental home is, and when our 5 year old came along, we decided to move back into town for the schools, and decided to buy a home in the resort so we could still enjoy the lake and enjoy all the amenities without the hassles of lawn maintenance, etc.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Summer of 2010 brought a whole new aspect to Chesnut Bay Resort. The management company began having scheduled daily activities for the kids during the summer season including kayak races, crafts for the little ones, volleyball, and other fun activities. Also during the summer season, the Resort now has family events Wednesday thru Sunday nights which include 2 family movie nights at the outdoor amphitheater, Karaoke night at one of the pools, Friday night family street party with music, dancing, and games; and Sunday night free Bingo with lots of fun prizes. All of these fun things are included when you rent at no additional charge.
Our rental home is about 100 ft from the water and has unobstruceted views of the lake. Almost Heaven is very near the free kayak, and paddle boat area of the Resort and centrally between each of the two swimming pools and GodFathers Pizza . Easy walking distance of the 120 ft waterslide, playgrounds, tennis courts etc. The HUGE front porch is great for relaxing and enjoying the view of the lake and mountains. The staff at the resort is always helpful. Of course we use the gas grill for most of our evening meals, and just love the relaxed feel of the resort. My personal favorite time is early morning as the sun comes up, sitting on the front porch enjoying a fresh cup of coffee with flavored with real Irish Cream...it just doesn't get any better than this.
