My husband and I spent five delightful days at the guesthouse. It was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the front patio, watching the nesting birds feeding their young, while having breakfast, and basking in the setting sun at cocktail time. The fragrant orange blossoms were extra special. Brochures and the information provided in the casita guided us to hiking, viisiting gardens, and going to great restaurants. Thanks to John and Lisa for a delightful retreat.

french translation in the second half of the review We recommend. The description given on the VRBO website under entries "accommodations" and “vacation rental features” are perfectly accurate. The place is cristal clean. Oro valley may seem a little remote, but, it's not. In Tucson, everything is always a little far away from everywhere: Desert museum, Air museum, San Xavier, Catalina mnts, the Maverick, rodeo ground ... So, Liddell Pl. is perfect location for visiting Tucson. Availability of a car is mandatory. The Landlords, who live on the property in a house 60 ft away in the same garden, are absolutely delightful, discreet and trustful persons. We stayed 2 wks in February 2013, during a colder than usual period (had even 1 inch of snow!), central heating was easy to run. We can't tell about summer conditions (which we know well), but the house is built the clever Tucson way to fight heat: no window southward, large windows northward, under a patio. A little "orange grove", with a variety of citrus fruits gives the delight of a just picked-up grapefruit for breakfast! Don’t miss the “horseshoes”! A cowboy version of “la pétanque”. Not so easy.

The guesthouse was perfect for me and I look forward to staying there again. The location made it convenient for me to head for hiking trails on the east and west sides of Tucson. The bed has a fine mattress covered with a cloud-like comforter perfect for crisp winter nights. Bed linens and towels were good quality, new and fluffy. Rooms are few but spacious with comfortable furniture. I liked the full dining table which was in use when I had guests and perfect for spreading out a work project. The galley kitchen is small but I'm not interested in cooking while on vacation. Excellent restaurants and food stores were close by, especially Sprouts with its fine selection of premium food items. The house is separate and private but the homeowners were nearby if help or advice is needed. Lemon, orange and grapefruit trees are just outside the door and there for the picking if you so choose.

My husband and I have stayed in this comfortable casita numerous times while going to doctor appointments at the UA Medical Center in Tucson. The casita is private, very clean and in a quiet, safe neighborhood. It is centrally located to Oracle Road and close to interstate. This is a great place to stay and use as a "hub" while in the Tucson area, we will definately return.

The casita itself was beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The description and pictures of the casita definitely reflect its appearance. The towels and sheets were top quality. I do think that the description should explain that the laundry room and extra 1/2 bath are not accessible from inside the casita itself. One must go out the front door and around the side, not an issue except that we had expected a 1/2 bath readily available inside. Had the outside area been as lovely as the inside, we would have been thrilled with the accommodations. Unfortunately, the pool was not heated and the outdoor furniture was in need of new cushions, something our hostess said was to be remedied, but like the unheated pool, that didn't help us for our February stay. The gated pool is off to the side with gravel all around the casita which did not create a pleasant atmosphere if one wished to sit on the casita's patio. Plus, facing north, sun never hit the patio area so it was cold. This would be fine in warmer weather, but our vision of enjoying a cup of coffee each morning in the sun looking at a lovely view was not realized. The property is on a corner with a very busy street to one side, the side where the bedroom is. There is a large wall in between the two, so it wasn't a big issue, but road noise was noticable at night. It wasn't an area conducive to walking either, so it wasn't quite the idealic setting we had envisioned. All that being said, the owners were pleasant and helpful, greeted us with a bottle of wine in the casita, told us to call with any questions or needs, and were most responsive to any request we had. All in all, it was a very enjoyable week!

Owner response: Our desire is to always provide a wonderful stay for each of our guest and we do all we can to provide that experience. We did not hear anything negative form this couple while they were staying with us.

We stayed her for a week in February. The home was just as described. It was clean and nicely decorated. We did not use the kitchen much but it was nice having it there for when we did use it. The owners left us with their phone numbers and then gave us our privacy. The laundry room came in handy and worked great. The bed is super soft with a down comforter on top. This is a much better value than a cramped up hotel room. Thank you John and Lisa.

It is evident by staying in this beautiful guest house that John and Lisa are the kind of people that take great pride in providing the best possible experience for their guests. They are a charming and gracious host, welcomed us like we were family and were attentive to our every need. There is meticulous attention to detail and much thought that went in their accommodations and the place is impeccably clean and fresh.... one gets the sense of being pampered and spoiled. The pictures they display can not do justice to the actual elegance, layout and splendor of their guest house and there are even some beautiful mountain views. Thank you for making out stay in Tucson better than we could have imagined. We look forward to staying with you again in the future and hope the coming holidays are filled with joy for you and yours.

Our stay in this guest house was great. VERY nice accommodations and convenient to all we wanted to do. We most enjoyed just sitting by the pool with cocktails and girl talk. Had a great day of hiking at Catalina State Park, which was very close. Thanks John and Lisa!

This house was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to Tucson.......beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped! We had full use of the pool and BBQ area. We loved the location as it was close to the mountains for hiking as well as close to restaurants and shopping. I would reccommend this house to friends and we would stay there at another time. Thanks Lisa and John

My wife and I stayed here for a week in November, and we could not have been more satisfied with our home away from home. We always felt that we had complete privacy, but our hosts were gracious and helpful. The home was comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the impressive pool/ramada/outdoor kitchen/outdoor living room were always available for us. We love hiking, and the home is perfectly situated for hiking the best Tucson mountain trails. It is also conveniently located for shopping and dining. We could not have been happier with this rental.

John and Lisa have made their guest house as lovely and comfortable as it can possibly be. This casita was exquisite and the pool/grill patio area is to die for. Sleeping in the large bedroom on a very comfortable king sized bed was a dream. We'll be back and recommend it to all our friends.

We stayed for about 3 weeks at the end of Jan, thru mid Feb. The location was excellent for us as we like to hike, bike and golf. Many options for these activities within 30 minute drive. Location is safe and owners are quite trustworthy and cordial. Great bed and decorating. If in the area we will be back here.

My wife and I are native tucsonans but I wanted to give her a relaxing weekend getaway. This beautiful house was perfect for the occasion. The setup was great and we enjoyed an evening on the patio and a movie on the big screen. I was especially found of the tv mounted on the bedroom wall and the big soft bed. We didn't make use of the kitchen but noticed kitchenware in the cupboards. The house made for a peaceful weekend but would really be more than adequate for a long-term stay.
