The ground floor (1st level) has two rooms each with a set of bunk beds and a full bathroom. There is hot water available throughout the house. There is a large storage area for all your gear, as well as washing machine.

The house offers a relaxing living area with plenty of sitting room for all, as well as a large balcony with majestic ocean and island views. There is also a small balcony in the back to enjoy the alluring jungle scene. While sitting on the balconies, one can be serenaded by the ocean waves and jungle noises (birds, howler monkeys, tree frogs, etc). The balconies are perfect spots for enjoying the surrounding landscape filled with tropical foliage (plants, flowers and fruit trees) which draws a variety of tropical birds.

The house is located in a peaceful setting just outside of town, and is close enough to easily enjoy the local charm of Bocas Town. There are three full service restaurants close to the house, and many more just minutes away by taxi. It is a pleasant, culture immersing 45-60 minute walk to the center of Bocas Town.

This home offers a spacious, comfortable and relaxing location to hang out, but also provides a secure home base while you explore all the area has to offer - exploring Isla Colon and surrounding islands: hiking, swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, taking a catamaran tour, snorkeling/diving, sampling local cuisine, shopping, taking Spanish lessons, going on a tour of the Botanical Garden, viewing wildlife, fishing, horseback riding, looking for shells, etc.

Upon arrival in Bocas del Toro, property management staff can help arrange taxis for transportation and grocery shopping, as well as tours, and any other services you may be interested in.

This house is perfect for those who want to kick back and relax in a place where the untouched tropical rainforest meets the crystal blue waters of Bocas del Toro!

Why the Owner Chose Bocas del Toro

I chose this property because of its peaceful location and quality construction, as well as the sound/view of the ocean waves and easy access to surfing. These features made this property ideal to me.

The Unique Benefits at this House

I love the tranquility this home offers!! Casa de K's private location allows me to simply enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean, tropical foliage and variety of wildlife. And, as a surfer this property is hard to beat. Additionally, there is easy access to all that Bocas has to offer -- cultural diversity, water sports, many restaurants, shopping, adventures, Spanish classes, yoga, organized tours, etc.

Owner's Map of Bocas del Toro

Hola! My name is Kristin Bacon. I am a 12 year Alaskan resident who needs her soul kissed by the tropical sun and surf on a regular basis. I instantly felt as though I was at my second "home" when I arrived to Bocas del Toro the first time five years ago. Currently, I own a pediatric therapy business in Alaska. Eventually, I hope to be able to spend more time at Casa de K. For me, Bocas Town and this home offer the right combination of simplicity, relaxation, nature, culture and adventure.

amazing place, unforgettable trip!!

This house and the surrounding areas are now permanently in my head as a "happy place" to retreat to mentally, and hopefully one day physically as well! I spent a week here with a close friend that is now permanently etched in my senses. Highlights: sitting on the front deck to gaze at the waves (they are right there!!); making smoothies from local fresh fruit in the well-equipped kitchen; wandering through town on foot or bike for yoga, good food, music; enjoying nearby beaches (starfish beach is a favorite!). Thank you so much for such a clean, well-maintained, comfortable and BEAUTIFUL place to stay!!

A little "peace" of paradise

Guest: Katherine (Anchorage, AK)
Date of Stay: 06/01/10 Review Submitted: 06/27/10

No doubt this feels like a piece of paradise; and a "peace" of paradise. Whichever way you look at it, Casa de K is a gem. Whether you are interested in getting out and adventuring the Bocas del Toro area, or if you just want to kick back and relax on a slow paced tropical vacation, this is your place. We opted for a bit of both! We loved waking up to the sound of waves. While drinking our coffee on the front porch, it was so relaxing to slowly begin our day with the tranquil view of the ocean. We also found it quite convenient to walk to Bluff Beach, which is amazingly beautiful. La Coralina is close by as well, which offers wonderful food for lunch and dinner. During our stay we even got to see Howler monkeys, parrots, and toucans! I felt right at home at Casa de K. The house is beautiful, the location is superb, and the vistas are beyond words. Can't wait to return!
