Welcome to 719 Sea Dragon Lane, 'The PattiShack'. With spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and beach, the PattiShack sits neatly nestled as an island retreat on a quiet beach access road just several hundred feet from its neighboring seashore. PattiShack stands proudly 42 feet high, provides an estimated 4,000 square foot of living space as well as an additional 2,000 square feet of decking for your enjoyment. The home is just two lots from the dunes of the beach, and was strategically built so that its guests might enjoy its amazing views, experience the ever present sea breeze and be lulled by the sounds that come from the music of the ocean. Its location to the beach allows for you to walk out from the homes front doors and stroll to your favorite beach spot within minutes, knowing that you can return for bathroom breaks, naptime or to refresh your favorite beverage at any point in your day or evening.
Given the proximity of the beach and viewing opportunities, the house was designed and built in 2009 from a concept of creating the greatest gathering space at the top (upside down) of the home. The 3rd floor, or main living area is an enormous gathering space which includes a larger than normal professional kitchen, a separate dining area (complete with large family table), and the main living room style space. This area contains an enlarged pit style couch where many can gather to watch their favorite movie or game on the flat screen TV located above the fireplace. If it is peace or tranquility you desire, you and your guest can enjoy a roaring fire, rest, read a book or simply look toward the ocean and watch as a summer storm strolls by as this entire area is surrounded by oversized windows and a vaulted ceiling. There is also additional seating in this area in a connected location where a pub table and breakfast bar exist for eating, playing games or just joining in the atmosphere of the room. Also on this floor is a separate sunroom which has full views of the beach, ocean and island fauna. The master bedroom is located on the main floor as well and includes a full master bathroom suite with 2 person walk-in stone shower, soaking tub, dual vanities, toilet and master closet. This area includes its own washer and dryer for convenience sake and a private deck off the bedroom area where additional ocean views can be enjoyed.
Surrounding this entire floor are wide, extensive decks that run along both the front and side of the house. There is an outdoor dining area and table on the deck where meals or conversation can be enjoyed as well as an abundance of deck furniture including love seat and tables, standard, rocking and Adirondack chairs.
Above the main floor is The Captains Tower. This unique room stands 42 feet above the ground and provides its guests with some of the most exciting and expansive views of the ocean and beach that Fripp Island has to offer. The observation deck is entered from the room itself and has a 3-sided viewing and sitting area where groups can gather outside to watch the sunrise or toast a sunset. Just inside the door of the Captains Tower is a room where the same views exist through oversized windows that look over the ocean.
Heading down the oversized 4 story stairwell, we come to the 2nd floor. There are four additional bedrooms on this floor, each with their own private bathroom area. The rooms are built around a second large gathering / living area complete with couch and chairs, coffee table, hutch with flat panel TV and morning kitchen for the convenience of your family and guests. This room also includes a full laundry room of its own as well as access to the beach side of the house where the outside showers are conveniently located.
Finally, the ground floor offers plenty of room for storage and room to park all types of vehicles. There are two garage access doors as well as a third for golf carts to be kept. There is also a storage closet for your use and convenience as well. There are plenty of parking spaces in the oversized driveway as well and it is a great place for children to play games after a long and enjoyable day on the beach.
As for the island itself, Fripp is known for more than just its beautiful beach. The island is filled with activities such as golf (two championship courses - Ocean Creek and Ocean Point), tennis (8 dry clay and 2 hard courts), fishing (sport and leisure), shopping, seven swimming pools, exercise and play areas and of course…food and drink. You will need an amenity card to take advantage of all of the activities and when you stay at the PattyShack you will receive "FREE AMENITY CARDS" for every person in your party! With these cards you have 100% access to all island amenities and activities which allows you the ability to fully partake and enjoy in all that the island has to offer including;
There are also many other things to do, see and explore on our island. Golf carts, Bicycles and Mopeds are the preferred method of transportation among our guests on the island and can be rented by the week, day or hour through the excursion facility located in the Marina.
Finally, Fripp Island is for guests or all ages. The Activity Center is full of great social and educational programs and includes Camp Fripp, a nature experience camp for children.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Mid-Island
When we went to fripp Island for the first time we immediately fell in love with the island. Our dream was to always build our dream home near the Atlantic Ocean. Once we discovered Fripp Island we knew we had to build there. We rented on the island for many years before building our home. Now we have a beautiful perfect house near the Atlantic Ocean on Fripp Island. Fripp Island has so much to offer; ocean, beach, pools, golf, tennis, restaurants, etc... Everything you would want on vacation.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Close to the beach. No need to drive a car or golf cart to get to the beach we are in walking distance. We have beautiful views of the ocean from our home. Our house is on a dead end street so we have little traffic. We have 2 living levels which allows for more areas to gather. The house has many outside decks to enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather. Each bedroom has their own bathroom which allows for privacy for each family member.

Property owners: Gary & Pat Earl. We purchased the property in 2005 and started to design and build our custom dream home in Summer 2008. Our home was completed in February of 2009. We spent our first summer in the house this past summer and loved every single moment of the experience. Our second oldest daughter was married this summer on the beach in front of our home (August 2009). We have two married daughters and have two more children at home who are tied to school commitments for the next few years. Since we are unable to be at our beautiful home in South Carolina and must stay at our home in the West, we have decided to rent our home with the hopes that others will be as blessed as we have been. We designed this home in the attempt to bring to life our dreams, hopes and ambitions. The space, gathering areas, views and personal touches came from our love, heart and vision. We believe that anyone who stays in this home will truly sense the love and caring that went into its creation and are confident that each guest will truly have a wonderful vacation and experience while staying at The Patty Shack.
