Why the Owner Chose Hi Country Haus
Out of all the mountain resorts in Colorado, Winter Park is by far our favorite. Only 70 miles from Denver, the town of Winter Park, the Fraser Valley, and Grand County offer fabulous family fun year-round. Winter Activities include skiing (downhill, cross-country, and backcountry), snowboarding (half-pipe and rail parks), sledding and tubing, snowshoeing, ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling and snowskooting, SnowCat Tours, dogsledding and sleigh sides. In the summer, Winter Park offers world–class mountain biking, hiking and wildlife/wildflower viewing, fishing (river and stocked pond), horseback riding, Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide, golf and tennis, rollerblading, road biking, sailing (windsurfing and boating), rock climbing, and live theatre, music and art festivals.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Our 2 bedroom condo is in High Country Haus at the north end of the town of Winter Park. It is located 1 block from local restaurants, shops, and the movie theater and has access to over 600 miles of mountain biking, hiking and skiing trails. The resort shuttle bus stops in front of our building and provides free transportation to the Winter Park and Mary Jane Resorts, only 2 miles away. We had a great time at this condo over the weekend. It is in a very convenient location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The bus pick-up for skiing is right in the complex, very close. There were 4 of us and the condo accommodated us perfectly. The kitchen has all you need. There is a large grocery store just a few miles down the road, perfect for making your own meals on cold nights. We went cross-country skiing near-by and also tubing in Fraser, very fun. I would highly recommend staying here.

Staying at this condo was great! The condo had all the comforts of home but in a vacation setting. We took the train and it worked out because no need to drive, the location was either within walking distance or on the free bus route. We had 4 people in our party and there was plenty of room for all of us to relax and enjoy or time in the condo.

This condo is perfectly located and convenient to everything in Winter Park! The slopes are just a short bus ride away, and you can walk to restaurants (or take the bus). The condo is very clean and well-maintained, and it has everything you could need for a weekend getaway. It is very comfortable for a family -- there are even bunkbeds for the kids! The owners are very personable and eager to help. Highly recommended!

Perfect Town Location

This place is seriously in the best possible place in Winter Park. Aside from the fact that it is nestled a chip shot away from Hernando's Pizza (delicious), it has the ski bus come right outside the door (literally), a building away from the pool and hot tub, all around walking trails, and you can walk up the streets into the town. Inside it has a nice cozy kitchen, two bedrooms (bunk beds and a king size), a place for your skis and boots after a long day on the slopes, and a great comfy couch and chairs. Perfect for the whole family or a group of friends looking to get away. Go in the summer or winter, it really doesn't matter. You will have a great time and have plenty to do all around here any time of the year.

We had a great time in Winter Park! We went hiking and mountain biking near by. This condo is in a great location with easy access to all Winter Park has to offer. We enjoyed being able to walk out the door and see the Frasier river from the porch. There is a nice club house with a swimming pool, hot tubs, and recreation area. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a simple, very easy place to stay while skiing at Winter Park. I stayed with my 91 yo father (still skiing the bowl) and 2 sons during the Spring Break week. The free shuttle access to the slopes runs frequently and is very convenient. The association's pool and hot tubs are a short walk. The owner, manager and neighbors were all helpful in making the arrangements, obtaining discount coupons for the lifts, arranging WiFi access, and helping out during a small medical emergency. The flat is well-maintained with clean sheets and towels and the kitchenette is adequate for simple meals There are also good restaurants nearby. Altogether this was exactly what we needed at a very reasonable cost.

This condo is a great deal! We stayed here with our 3 boys over spring break and had a really fun time. We spent our days skiing and our evenings at the condo hanging out, eating pizza from Hernando's and watching movies and college basketball. The bus to the mountain was quite convenient because it picks you up and drops you off right in front of the building. (Expect some delays taking the bus back at the end of a day of skiing during spring break - lots of people!) The condo is exactly as it appears in the photos. The beds are very comfortable. The condo's clubhouse is a great place to hang out if you need a little more activity or space. Our kids liked the air hockey game and the pool table, and we enjoyed the comfy couches and the big screen tv. There are many restaurants within walking distance, but a trip to the grocery store takes a while if you are relying on the bus. We ate at Azteca (?) and got take out from Hernandos - both terrific. I would recommend this condo to a friend or relative if they were looking for a family friendly place to stay.

In July we enjoyed a "girls" week-end at the condo. It just so happened to be the week-end of the Winter Park Craft Fair! Bonus!! We walked to the fair, restaurants and shops. Great location and very cozy.
