My Father built the Sopinski Cabin over 30 years ago where my family spent summers, winters & weekends during my growing up years. This wonderful place provided for my brother and me a childhood filled with fun, activity, sports & memories that my family would like to now share with you.
Our cabin is located on a level lot at a 4000 ft elevation in Arnold, CA. We are within minutes from Angel's Camp, Sonora, Murphy's & Bear Valley Ski Resort. With a wrap-around deck surrounded by pines, our cabin provides an ideal spot to enjoy all the Sierra's have to offer without the hassle of too much snow, traffic or isolation. We are walking distance to many activities and only a minute's drive to many more. Our cabin is ideal for families, pets & adults who wish to go, go, go or just relax on the deck. Whatever your vacation's needs, you can find them here at the Sopinski Cabin.

There are many beautiful, small, large & artistic wineries in the area that offer tasting and events year round. Columbia State Historic Park is a wonderful historic town that offers activities year round including panning for gold, wagon rides, candle making, bowling, theater, crafts fairs, shopping, history & many holiday-based special events. A must see! Spalunking...There are several natural caves and gold mines for tours & exploring. One offers a zip line open year round!

Year Purchased: 1980
Hello, my name is Amy Waterman. My father, Ted Sopinski, built our cabin when my brother, Steve, and I were young. We have been spending time in Arnold since we were born and have made it a very important part of our lives. My mom & dad are retired and living in Sonoma County. My brother, Steve & his wife, live in Rocklin with their two sons & dog. My husband, Jeff, and I live in Santa Rosa with our daughter, two dogs, three cats & rat. We visit our cabin whenever possible and hope you find it to be a magical place for your family too!
Why the Owner Chose Arnold
Before I was born, a salesman asked my father to come to Arnold in order to look at properties. He and his best friend from Lockheed drove up to Arnold with their wives and the salesman. After spending the weekend in Arnold, they knew this was a place they wanted to spend time. My father and his friend purchased a lot together & each bought thier own. They built a large cabin together for our two families where we spent every minute in Arnold we possibly could. After many years, our friends bought a business and moved up. We sold our joint cabin and my father then built the one we have today nearly 30 years ago. We still love Arnold & the surrounding area as much as the day we found it.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The most wonderful aspect to Arnold is its peacefulness. It truly feels like a vacation. When at our cabin, we feel as though we are worlds away from the busy, every day life of home. We love the diversity of the area and all it has to offer. The activities are perfect for our family...some of our favorites are hanging out at the pool in the summer time, visiting Columbia State Historic Park on a regular basis, sledding in the winter. Our most favorite activity, however, is relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine working on a puzzle or cross word with the most perfect weather & serenity.

The Perfect Retreat

Finding this property was a blessing. The cabin felt like home from the moment we walked in the door. Comfortable, quiet and equipped with everything you would need or expect to have for your time away. Our two small dogs loved it and the fenced in deck allowed us all to enjoy ourselves without worry. A great place to recharge, get creative, relax and be good to yourself. This cabin is very well managed and maintained and the entire experience couldn't have been made any easier for us. We will definitely stay again as it truly was the escape that our family needed.

This is our idea of a mountain cabin -- with a little bit of history, real wood paneling, a big fireplace, oversized leather furniture in the living room, a big deck and a great bbq. Amy and family have paid attention to all the little touches, and include linens, which most Blue Lake Springs rentals don't. We have been coming to the area for 18 years and this is one of the best cabins we've rented. Some people might like fancier/bigger/modern houses, but give us something with charm and warmth any day. Kitchen was well equipped and they even left a bottle of wine for us. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this very comfy cabin. It was the perfect base for all of our explorations and activities; river rafting, hiking, gold panning, big trees and "vegging out". The cabin was equipped with everything we could need and more. Having access to the lodge with the pool and lake was a favorite with our 8 year old and a great way to stay cool. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a great mountain vacation. Amy was extremely helpful and responded to all of our questions right away. Thanks

This "cabin" was a little slice of heaven. We did not want for anything. It was well stocked and very comfortable. The porch was fantastic for the dog and enjoying the fresh pine air. White Pines Lake was a great place to hang out and swim with a dog. I highly recommend this place and Amy was very accomodating. Will return!

My husband and I went up to Arnold for our daughter's wedding nearby where I was actually functioning as her caterer. I was extremely surprised and happy to find that this kitchen was so well equiped I wasn't lacking a single thing in order to get all of the dishes prepared for the event. The bottom line is where most "rental" cabins are usually sparsely equiped and furnished, this one stands apart because you feel like someone actually lives in it. The house is very comfortable and decorated with very warm details including wall hangings and area rugs that do not have the look of hand me downs from other homes. It is clean and well kept. We were so impressed with it that we invited our new in-laws with which we had yet been aqcuainted over for dinner one evening prior to the wedding. Having lived there almost all their lives, they agreed that this was a great 'rental' cabin. We will definitely return!
