This home is the perfect spot for your getaway! With 3 levels, there is plenty of space to be together, and plenty of space to have a little quiet time away from the rest.
The location is close enough to Grand Lake (a few minutes away) to enjoy it's mountain charm, and just a short walk from Shadow Mountain Lake, and yet far enough away to be a quiet refuge.
This mountain home (and everything in it) is top quality, immaculately clean, and comfortable! From the moment we walked in, we knew we had found the perfect place. All the furnishings were purchased with luxury and comfort in mind.
The 2-story great room is the center of the home and a perfect gathering space, featuring a wonderful kitchen and island breakfast bar with slab granite counter tops, eating area, wet bar, gas fireplace, 55" HD TV, and I-Pod compatible sound bar system. This room spills out onto a huge private deck living area that is partially covered with a gas firepit to gather around, a built-in gas grill, and ample seating to take in the scenery and the great outdoors.
The master bedroom is on this main floor, featuring a king-size bed, a 33" HD TV, it's own cozy sitting area/retreat, 5-piece bathroom, and walk-in closet.
Upstairs is a wonderful loft area, complete with a LCD TV, and a huge bedroom with a king-size bed and a day bed with a trundle/pull out (2 twins together), and it's own full bathroom. The sofa in this loft area pulls out for additional sleeping. We love the comfort of this loft area.
Downstairs is a quiet walk-out level with 2 queen bedrooms and another full bathroom. These bedrooms are just off a third living and game area with a 44" HD TV, DVD/VHS player, and a game system, 2 comfortable sofas, one of which pulls out for additional sleeping. This area is perfect for kids of all ages to get away from the rest of the gang and play to their heart's content.
Just outside the atrium doors from the walk-out family room is a quiet area with 2 porch swings. Watch the kids. Enjoy the view. Breathe the wonderful mountain air.
All of the linens and towels are luxurious and top quality. We have tried to outfit the kitchen with the best of everything - and everything we could think of.
The home feels secluded but is just minutes from everything you'd want to do. It is complete with WiFi internet, Comcast cable, a high-efficiency stacked washer and dryer, an on-demand hot water system that enables you to run all the showers, dishwasher, and washer without ever running out of hot water, beautiful decorations, beautiful views, and is ready for you and your family to enjoy time after time.

Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake
Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. Grand Lake is a year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years.
This beautiful home is less than 2 hours from Denver and is easy to get to. It's not far (just 5 minutes) from Grand Lake at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park and all the area attractions but feels like it's in a secluded, private area. It's just a short walk to Shadow Mountain Lake, the Colorado River, walking trails, the public boat launch, and canal between Shadow Mountain Lake and Granby Reservoir. The area offers fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking with plenty of wildlife to enjoy.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our home is uniquely situated near Grand Lake and all the attractions, but feels like it's private and remote. The Shores area is a planned community with paved roads and easy access, and our home is on a very quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. Our home itself is luxurious, accommodating, and comfortable with fine furnishings and everything you might need.
Owner's Map of Grand Lake
We are both Colorado natives. We have spent as much time as we could vacationing in the mountains and have always dreamed of having a little slice of heaven in Grand Lake to build our own family memories, and now we have been able to do just that. We hope you and your family will enjoy our mountain home and will create your own wonderful memories.

I cannot say enough good things about this home! The pictures do not do the home justice, it is beautiful! Well laid out with plenty of room for everyone! Everything has been thought of! They even include a 'directory' of where to find items in the kitchen, which was a nice touch. Home is well maintained and immaculately clean. Owners are very responsive and friendly. We could not have asked for a better VRBO experience. We will definitely stay here when we come back to Grand Lake!

We recently stayed in this wonderful home with our family and friends for Thanksgiving. We all arrived at different times but all walked into the home saying the same things, " this home is beautiful!". The owners were wonderful to work with. They answered any and all questions I had thoroughly and in a timely manner. We had 8 adults and 8 children in our group and we all had plenty of space to gather together and to retire to our own rooms for more peace and quiet. All the beds and linens were very nice and comfortable. The home itself is furnished, finished and equipped with wonderful taste and everything we needed. We are grateful to have found such a beautiful home for our family Holiday getaway and we will be back!

John and Becky have a beautiful home to share. Our family of twelve stayed four nights last week and had a great time. Two stories and a loft provide four bedrooms and a deck that is unbelievable, with a gas grill and fireplace. Many unexpected extras were provided. Thank you for a wonderful vacation experience.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay! The home is gorgeous, furnished beautifully and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could ever need! All beds were very comfortable and we were all able to spread out among the three floors to get some alone time when needed although we spent most of our time around the dining table playing games, eating and even put a couple of puzzles together. We had family in from Florida who had never been to Colorado and they enjoyed it so much. They are already planning a trip back and we will plan to stay here again. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us.
Owner response:Cindy also wrote in our coffee table guest gook that ours was the best rental home they've ever stayed in. That's high praise - thanks, Cindy!

What a wonderful house for my friends and I to enjoy some time away from the city. It is a very modern home with plenty of room and amenities whether you decide to head into the town of Grand Lake (5-10 minute drive), or lounge around the home. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for sharing your home!

My husband and I rented this home for us and a few more couples for a week at the end of January 2011. WOW is all I can say about this place! I have stayed in Grand Lake for several years and this home has been our favorite so far. Clean, spacious, well appointed, and the floorplan is perfect for giving others in your group a little space! Location is great for driving to Sol Vista or Winter Park for skiing or to Grand Lake for awesome snowmobiling (my favorite). The owners are very mindful of the little things that travelers tend to forget to bring..... Thank you John and Becky for allowing us to use your home and letting us make memories for a lifetime!! Oh, I forgot to mention how comfortable the beds are--slept as if I were in my own! Thanks again and we plan on coming back!!!

We sent a business group down to this Grand Lake lodge for a weekend retreat. The guys absolutely loved it! Everything in the house was nice and clean, up to date, and efficient. They provided plenty of supplies in the house as well as places to eat and visit. The cost to stay was really good for what we received and the owners were easy to get a hold of and very helpful. We will be looking to stay here again in the future!

This home was fabulous!!! We rented this home for 3 nights for a friends wedding weekend. We managed to fit 12 people in this house without anyone sleeping in the floor!!! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had every amenity you could think of and the house was Immaculate. Our friends wedding was located on Grand Lake which ended up being a quick 5-10 min drive to main street grand lake. The location was quiet, and easily accessible. We wish we could have stayed longer!!! Thanks for letting us use your amazing house for an unforgetable weekend!!!!!

John & Becky, We enjoyed our visit to your house over the 4th of July. Our family get together of eight was just perfect. We loved having our coffee on the deck each morning and watching the animals. Your house is beautiful and everything we needed was available. Thanks so much for offering such a beautiful and peaceful spot to spend a vacation. You were so helpful with all of our questions and the house was immaculate. We hope to make it back to Grand Lake and will definitely want to stay at your house again. We will also recommend your house to any of our friends who travel to Grand Lake. Thanks again.
