Deluxe Condo with Private Secluded Hot Tub, Base of Skil Hill
Why the Owner Chose Kimberley
We spent many years travelling between Calgary and the Kootenays, skiing at Kimberley, Fernie, Panorama, Whitefish (in Montana, USA) and the many other ski hills in the area. We finally decided to purchase a condo in Kimberley because it was the most central to all these locations. We've since spent a number of great ski holidays in our condo. And much to our delight, we found Kimberley to be a wonderful place to visit in the summer and fall as well! With the biking, hiking, golf courses and mild temperatures into late fall, we've been able to enjoy our condo year round!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We love going out to Kimberley for a relaxing yet adventurous holiday. Instead of getting up early every day and making a long drive to a ski hill, we have the luxury of sleeping in and enjoying a nice breakfast. On a really good day, there is lots of fresh snow from the previous night, and we watch a gentle snowfall while having our morning coffee in the secluded outdoor hot tub on the back patio. Then we stroll over to the ski hill and hit the slopes for a great day of down-hill skiing or snowboarding. Because it’s so close to the ski hill, we often come back to the condo for lunch, pop a lasagna in the stove for supper, and then head back to the hill for the afternoon. By the end of the day, everyone is starving so it’s great to have supper ready when we arrive back at the condo. On a warm night we’ll then go for a walk around the neighborhood. If there’s a full moon we often make the 5 minute drive up to the cross-country ski trails. The main loop is lit at night, but with a full moon we go off on other trails and it’s so quiet and peaceful in the moonlight, with the snow blanketing the ground and no one else around. Much to our surprise, Kimberley turned out to be a wonderful place to stay in the summer and fall, too! There are so many hidden treasures in the area – the Nature Park, St Mary’s Falls, the Cominco Gardens, the Summer Theatre. There are many nearby towns to visit, each with their own attractions, museums, gardens, antique stores, golf courses, etc. On my last trip there we explored around Wasa Lake, the warmest swimming lake in the Kootenays, and spent a lovely day exploring the trails there. I can't wait to go back to explore a new area next time!
Pedestrian-friendly "mall" (no vehicles), with souvenir shopping, candy store, coffee shops and restaurants.
A great spot for walking, snow-shoeing, or intermediate biking or cross-country skiing. Lots of trails going in every direction, fun to explore! There are a couple of trailheads along 8th Ave where you can leave your vehicle.
Owner's Map of Kimberley
There are actually 5 of us that own this property. We all worked together many years ago and have remained friends for almost 20 years! Over that time we've had lots of adventures together - we've gone on countless cycling, hiking, back-packing and ski trips around the Rockies, we've cruised through the Caribbean and the Panama Canal, trekked through Peru, and toured around Costa Rica. Every year we all get together for a ski holiday at our condo in Kimberley, and any number of us go out for a fun-filled get away at other times of the year. We are like one big extended family and the memories we have of the adventures we've enjoyed in Kimberley are priceless!

One of the best weekends I've had in Kimberley. Place was clean and well kept. Made the snowboarding weekend feel very luxurious. All the amenities that we needed were available. The ipod dock was definitely used a lot all weekend. We will probably be back again this winter season.

This was our very first Christmas away from home and the whole family loved it! The skiing was great, and the hot tub was perfect after a day on the slopes. The condo itself is very comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped (I brought my own pots and such but I did not have to). It was very clean, and an overall very nice place to stay at. We're hoping to come back next year! Thank you for letting us stay at your comfortable vacation property.

My husband and two children recently stayed at this condo and loved it! It had an assortment of games, movies and cds. When we walked into the condo we immediately felt relaxed and couldn't wait for our vacation to begin. Everything was as listed in regards to what was included in the rental of the condo. We made good use out of the hot tub while enjoying the breathtaking views. The condo was situated at the base of the ski hill. We did not go skiing this trip as we had two small children with us, but would love to come back in the future and try out the hill. The photos were accurate but didn't do it justice! It was very spacious even with two children, two adults and all of our stuff! We are looking forward to returning perhaps in the summer. We have already recomended this property to friends and family. Thank you for a great vacation!

Condo was excellent and just as described in VRBO. Unit was clean and well maintained. Lots of games and activities on hand. Hot tub on deck was used extensively and enjoyed by all. The BBQ was also used daily. Owners responded to emails promptly and were very helpful with the details. A very pleasant experience. We especially liked the storage space available. We would highly recommend this rental property.

We thoroughly enjoyed this property and would easily recommend it to others travelling to the Kimberley area. The property was just as described with very comfortable beds. The golf getaway was superb with the many courses to choose from in the area and the weather cooperated this year which was appreciated. The owners are friendly and helpful in all aspects.
Owner response:Thank you, Sue, we appreciate your comments. Look forward to having you back again!

I would highly recommend renting this unit. It is extremely clean, well maintained and very comfortable. I rented the unit for an annual soccer tournament. Our stay was very relaxing and had everything we needed for our trip. The unit is located on the Kimberley ski hill with an amazing walk out view to the mountain. I really enjoyed the comfortable beds and warm hot tub! Thank you for the wonderful accomadation!

Your condo was a perfect base for the Kimberly International Old Time Accordion Festival. Being close to town yet at a very quiet location to relax was wonderful. We really enjoyed the paved path for walking in the area which was particularly great for my father who needs an even walking surface. The condo was clean and very comfy, especially the beds and fluffy duvets. From what I can tell, your place is the best value for the price. I hope to come back again next year.

After years of skiing the big 3, my husband and I decided to try out Kimberley. Our kids are beginner skiers so we thought a smaller hill would be fine. What we did not expect was perfect snow. We enjoyed not having to drive anywhere and were surprised at how inexpensive the services were. The condo was beautiful and the private hot tub was amazing. No crowds is an amazing thing!!!

We stayed in the condo over New Years. The listing and photos were accurate. When we needed more information about what was available in the kitchen, the owner got right back to us with details. We found everything to be really clean and well maintained. It was really close to the bottom of the chair lift and we were able to come back to the codo for lunch and to warm up during our day of skiing. We found this really convenient. The hot tub was really clean and nice and hot. We have stayed other places and found that sometimes hot tubs can be luke warm, but this was not the case. I plan to stay here again, and highly recommend it to others.
