Why the Owner Chose Dawn Beach
There is something for everyone, disco, party beaches, quiet beaches, casinos, and 5 star restaurants everywhere! From Villa Sea Watch, you can walk to Dawn Beach, one of the most beautiful displys of turqoise water anywhere. If you like snorkling, Dawn Beach has a live coral reef! It's also the home of the new Weston Resort and Busby's Beach Bar.
We have stayed in different villas and luxury resorts, but Villa Sea Watch is conveniently located to great food, beach, great beach bars and the best, tremendous views of St. Barth's, and the most incredible turquoise ocean. It feels like home. We wanted to be on the ocean, but not right on a beach, because we like more privacy. The villa sits atop lava rock, so it is protected, yet only a few feet from the ocean. Every room overlooks the sea. The pool hangs over the ocean's edge, and there is always a breeze. We eat and live on the patio! Of course, the pool and patio just happen to be a few steps away from the fully equipped wet bar! The people of St. Maarten are sweet and friendly, too.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
This is in an elite, private, quiet gated community. People know each other and are friendly. This somewhat off-the-main path community has everything: glorious beach with a live coral reef, fantastic beach bars, Westin Resort within walking distance, which has a full service casino, and several restaurants. We can drive to "the action" if we like; what's best is that we come home to a peaceful night. The tropical gardens surround the villa and patio/pool. We enjoy peaceful nights sitting on the patio watching a magnificent sky loaded with stars we never get to see at home (and we live in the country!). We also have the most incredible photos of the full moon over the ocean. You can see St. Kits and Eustacia in the distance.

We first fell in love with Villa Sea Watch, in Dawn Beach Estates, in 1992, after falling in love with St. Maarten/St. Martin in 1983. We enjoy the privacy of the estates and Dawn Beach, only steps away. We have stayed on other parts of the island, but nothing beats the feel of community here, surrounded by mountains and turquoise ocean, and some of the best food anywhere! We truly enjoy great food and drink, and we can stay right in our own area, nestled between Dawn Beach and Oyster Pond with its lovely European looking marina, a short distance to French St. Martin. We absolutely LOVE romantic, fun, SXM!

I think Sea Watch is a perfect villa for a St. Martin vacation. It has a commanding ocean view from its water’s edge perch some 100 feet above the surf below. Each of the three bedrooms has its own deck with a 180-degree view of the blue ocean with St. Barts in the distance and sea birds flying below. If one were to select a single word to describe Sea Watch it would be ‘View’. But one word doesn’t do Sea Watch justice. The villa is in excellent condition, everything worked as advertised with only a single glitch…the alarm system battery had to be changed. That was accomplished promptly, coordinated by Cherie (the owner) with Rosie the housekeeper and the Remax agent. All went well. The three bedrooms are each very nice size, air-conditioned, with private bathrooms, plenty of storage, wonderful ocean views, and comfortable beds with quality linens. We had our family time by the pool, in the family room, and on the deck, but we had plenty of privacy as well. Once home, we learned our son was up each morning for the sunrise, and in the pool before the rest of us got up. We had that much privacy and that much freedom to enjoy the pool, the deck, the house, and the view without disturbing others. My wife and daughter appreciated the well-lighted vanity areas in the bedroom and bathroom. Each bath has a hairdryer, so that’s one thing we will leave at home next trip. There were plenty of quality bath and hand towels for our use, and enough beach towels that we were never in need of one. The large pool was clear, clean, refreshing, and with its own commanding view of the ocean. In my opinion, there’s nothing to compare with chilling in the pool with a refreshing drink, staring out at the beautiful ocean. No conversation is necessary. It seems a sacrilege to disturb that beauty and tranquility with words. Sea Watch is perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean; there’s no beach at the property. Our answer was to pick a beach for the day, pile into a car and head out. It turned out that it really didn’t matter where we went. All the beaches were great. Dawn Beach is a short walk away…and the Westin smiles favorably on those from Dawn Beach Estates. We used Westin lounges with their blessing. The problem with St. Martin is there are way too many things to do. One week is not enough…we’ll plan a longer vacation next time. It’s a beautiful island with tons of things to do. Sea Watch is a magnificent place to call home while on the island!

Just returned from two great weeks at Sea Watch - St. Maarten. We had an outstanding time. The view from the patio/pool area is breathtaking. We loved being out there morning, noon and night. The house was perfect for our needs, especially when our grown children and their spouses arrived in week 2. Dr. Cherie's recommendations (restaurants, car rental, etc.) pointed us in the right direction and her local "helpers" made our stay very comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer!

"Stayed here for 10 days with my 3 young kids. The best view at Dawn Beach. Perfect location. Walk to beach, restaurants etc. The house is comfortably furnished with every convenience of home. Easy driving to other sites on St. Maarten. Dr. Cherie is a quick and enthusiastic host. Would stay here again! "

My second trip to this lovely spot. The house is extremely comfortable, well kept and perfect for a mixed group, couples or all girls; we cooked, played cards and relaxed by the fabulous pool with sounds of crashing waves on the rocks below. The island has lots of great places to explore, from snorkeling, hiking to shopping and enjoying delicious dinner fare. It is imperative to have a car and be able to get around to many locations, French and Dutch included... Favorite spots, Top Carrot for a healthy breakfast or lunch, and Tropicana or Gran Cass for dinner. A delightful get away spot!

The photos and listing of this rental home and property are very accurate. The home is clean, spacious and definitely well maintained. I have already told all my friends and relatives about my vacation at Sea Watch and recommended they go. We adventured all over the island and enjoyed every minute. I would check out my favorites such as, Pinel beach and Busby restaurant, great food (on Dawn Beach) I stayed for 10 days and wished it was longer. I would go back in a heartbeat!!!

We stayed at Villa Sea Watch for 2 weeks with 2 other couples. We enjoyed every minute. The villa is as advertised and if you do have questions, Dr. Cherie anwered them with loads of enthusiam. A great and comfortable place to stay along the ocean's edge. We would not hesitate to stay again.
