Year Purchased: 2006
My wife and I bought the former Blue River Ranger Station in 2006 from the Forest Service. We were struck by the beauty of the McKenzie River area and the potential for renewal. We have since remodeled the former ranger homes into delightful cabins. Now a resort, we feature individual vacation rentals and group retreat facilities (We LOVE family reunions).
Why the Owner Chose McKenzie River
My wife and I have been looking around the country for a place to relocate to and raise our kids. To us, this is heaven. Lush forests, crystal clear lakes and rivers sprinkled with spectacular waterfalls surround this place. It's close to Eugene and Bend and we can do day trips to most every part of Oregon and Southern Washington. Even the beach is only a couple hours drive. A swimming hole and great fishing is in the river next to the house. We offer Mountain Bike Rentals and we offer a Shuttle to the top of The McKenzie River Trail - America's #1 Trail (Bike Magazine 2008). Onsite Game Room includes Ping Pong, Air Hockey and Table Soccer.
The Unique Benefits of this House
This is the historic ranger home built in the 1930's - it has been upgraded and newly furnished. The comfy sofa in the living room faces a huge stone fireplace and through the windows you can see the river filtered by the Douglas fir and maple trees. The full sized kitchen was fitted with new appliances and includes a microwave and cooking utensils. 2 sleeping areas upstairs feature 2 twin beds and 1 double. Downstairs features a large queen bed. Flat screen TV and cable TV. Free Wi-Fi. We have other vacation homes onsite for rent.
