The Belle of the Bay on beautiful Bell Island in Conception Bay is just 15 minutes and a short, scenic ferry ride (20 trips daily) across the "Tickle" from St. John's. Locals teasingly refer to the trip as 'going overseas". Your overseas adventure awaits!
The Belle of the Bay is a former Sisters of Mercy convent - 8000 sq feet lovingly renovated and upgraded to provide quality, comfort and value to our visitors. It overlooks Conception Bay and offers commanding views of the ocean and shore. This four star Canada Select luxury accommodation is your base for an unique Newfoundland experience.
On the main floor there is a large parlor with big screen TV, a dining room for 30 people, and a large modern fully equipped kitchen. There is both a men's and ladies washroom. The second floor has seven bedrooms, two with en-suites. There are two full bathrooms. Our third floor has five more rooms, three with en-suites. A full bathroom is located on the floor for use with the other rooms. The grounds have a garden, horseshoe pit, and a lovely front porch to relax and enjoy the views.
I also have available a number of electric bikes (lithium ion batteries) and a couple of bicycles built-for-two which can be added to your rental. Great for touring around the island. Helmets and locks included.

Bell Island is a place of beauty, history, and character. Its place in the economic development of Newfoundland with its underground iron ore mines, as the site of U Boat attacks against shipping during WWII, and as the home of accordion legend Harry Hibbs all add to its unique charm.
