We were very satisfied with the house and the setting. We all started our mornings with coffee in the backyard looking out over the Puget Sound. A nearby beach area gave easy access to a walk along the water. It was a great location for our trips to Port Townsend and Sequim.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

The house was perfect for my husband and I. We loved the open plan which would work well for larger groups. Everything was clean and neat and the furniture comfortable. Nice outdoor space and there is lots of eagle activity. They glide on the current in front of the windows and sometimes just hang there. There is also shipping traffic to watch, you can look up the ship name sometimes and find out what it's carrying Close to the beach for walks. We can't wait to come stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Found this litlel Gem and soo glad we did. The owners are so nice and flexable. When we arrived to a clean and spaceious place to stay , and stocked with everything one would need. Love the antique touches through out the house. We were here for my B Day and it made for great memories. Great for pictures and sight seeing and just R & R . We will return and hopefully bring some family with us the share your little piece of heaven on the Port . Beautifully situated on Marrowstone Island just a short drive from Fort Flagler Start Park. The beach is mostly gravel and is easily accessible after a short walk. The home sits on a cliff overlooking Admiralty Inlet and is well appointed. LCD TV, WiFi, Dishwasher and basic supplies. The nearest grocery (QFC) is a 15 minute drive to Port Hadlock and Port Townsend is only 30 minutes away. We spent our days walking at the historic State Park and beaches and strolling between coffee shops in Port Townsend. Including the ferry from Whitby Island the home is just three hours drive from Vancouver B.C. Close enough for easy access. We would like to return to the area in the near future an highly recommend Marrowstone Island.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the great review! Just a note we do have a general store 1/2 a mile away with most provisions - movie rentals - espresso - wine - boat rentals too! And the beach is so amazing, in the winter it is gravel but changes to pure SAND in the summer. You can lie on the warm sand all day and when the tide comes in the water is warm for a few minutes to swim! - Jenny Davis

I stayed at the Beach House on Marrowstone for three nights in late November as part of an annual trip I make with two old friends. The house and location were perfect! We woke up to an incredible view from the living room and enjoyed how close the house was to activities like hiking in the National Forest and shopping in Port Townsend while still feeling secluded.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent a wonderful getaway in this waterfront home. House is exactly as advertised. Fabulous view, very clean, 3 good sized bedrooms, and very comfortable beds. We had a toddler with us and the fact it was one floor with no stairs and so clean was helpful and made our trip more relaxing. We also had our dog with us. The only thing is the backyard is indeed partially fenced but not fully fenced but that was no big deal we just had to keep our dog on a leash. Beach is about .25 walk from the house. No big deal. Fireplace was nice but gets VERY hot so we just had to use after our toddler went to sleep. Port Townsend is about a 30 min very easy drive away. There is a cute general store in NOrdland about 5 min drive from house and a QFC about 15 minutes away as well. One thing is you are never sure with vrbo rentals what is all provided and you do need to bring your own laundry detergent, spices, kleenex and toiletries, including soap for the shower. Plenty of towels and kitchen utensils. We would definitely return. We didn't use the trampoline or tree house as our toddler is only 16 months old but maybe when she's older. Thanks for the great stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Beautiful and comfortable home; spacious and clean. The only minus is that you can hear a person turn over in the bed if you are in the two bedrooms that are next to each other according to the people that slept there. Not so in the third bedroom and all the beds are all comfortable. Because of the light carpet (which does add to the luxury feeling) I would hesitate to bring very young children. Great place to come with family or friends. We would love to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+.

Why the Owner Chose Port Townsend:
We have lived on Marrowstone Island for 12 years. As world travelers, we feel Marrowstone is one of the most pristine places on earth! The natural beauty and peace of the island captured our hearts. While we need to live off the island for now, we hope to move back someday soon. In the meantime, we wish to share this lovely retreat with others.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Nordland store on Marrowstone island provides visitors a real taste and flavor of island hospitality! Local wine and beer offered. Rent DVDs, boats, espresso or chat with locals. You can also purchase a dozen fresh oysters off the beach to take and BBQ! Delicious!
