It has a full kitchen with new appliances, bathroom has shower, bedroom has queen bed, closet for storage and clothes caddy. Dining and living areas are furnished with cushioned rattan furniture that is comfortable and beautiful to enhance your memorable Chincoteaque experience. The cottage is cool in the summer months and warm in the winter. A cozy getaway in any season. Bertie street is one street back from main and provides a relaxing, quiet atmoshere for those who want to leave their troubles behind.
The cottage has a 8x16 deck in the front for sitting to catch a coastal breeze, enjoy a peek-a-boo view of the Chincoteaque channel or just to listen to the wildlife that surrounds the island.

I live in NC and my boyfriend lives in NY so I found your cottage online and we met for the weekend. I got there first and unpacked and poured two glasses of wine with some appetizers and was sitting on the screened in front porch just waiting for his arrival. The cottage is small BUT has everything a couple needs to make for a very enjoyable stay! I was most impressed at the supplies in the drawers and all of the cleaning supplies they leave you, it makes clean up very easy so that you don't have to pay a cleaning fee that most places charge on top of the rental place! We had a great weekend together and enjoyed the beach and driving through the nature reserve and walking Main St. Thank you for your lovely accommodations! I highly recommend this place for couples or even a single person that just wants to get away and have some peace and quiet!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed at this cottage for 3 days. I have never had such a great time. The cottage was beautifully decorated and relaxing. I simply loved the skylight in the kitchen, it added a beauty to the room. The walk into town was beautiful, so many gorgeous views. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

This was our first trip to Chincoteague, and this little cottage was PERFECT for 2!! It was very homey with a small kitchen, living room and dinette area, along with the one bedroom. You pretty much had all your necessities covered (remember to bring your own sheets and towels). We sat on the porch one morning, we watched some TV one night... very relaxing!! It was just in a nice, quiet part of town, but close enough to walk to the stores and all as well. We'd definitely stay here again when we come back to the island!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is a really nice, clean, well-kept cottage on Chincoteague. The furnishings were all very tasteful and the kitchen was well-stocked. It is small, but was perfect for us- a couple with a two year old. And for less than the cost of a hotel room, we had much more space, a nice screened porch, and a grill. My correspondence with the owners was seamless and the cottage was very clean when we arrived. We will definitely consider staying here in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

All remained the same as out last stay. I would like to thank the owners of the cottage for keeping their rental as neat and clean as it was last year. The air conditioner continues to be great, the kitchen sparkling and the shower water hot. As for Chincoteague Island, it remains a great vacation spot for my family and I. We giggled with delight as we drove up the drive to this absolutely adorable cottage! I'm sitting here now and it is the perfect size for my blessed little family of four (couple with two children). This would be the perfect place for a couple's getaway... In fact, I'm thinking ahead to the possibilities! It's a well-kept and beautifully furnished cottage with all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends (in fact, I already have and I'm still here!) We rented this cottage for a weekend and fell in love as soon as we walked in the door - we wished we would have planned a week long visit. The cottage is tastefully decorated, clean and very cute and welcoming. It is located in a perfect spot if you want a quiet retreat that is still close to all of the local amenities. My 3 year old son stated that he wanted to move there and cried when we left. The rental transaction and communication with the owner went smoothly and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Chincoteague. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Martin family’s cottage on Chincoteague Island in Virginia. The property was clean, neat, cozy and just perfect for my wife and me. It is in a good location with just enough distance (2 minute drive) from town to make it a little secluded. The town of Chincoteague really puts you into an island feeling and the beach was amazing. I recommend the destination and the cottage.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: My wife and I live in Pennsylvania. We always wanted a cottage close to the ocean. We took a vacation on Chincoteague Island in 2007 and loved it so much we decided to purchase a vacation property. We spent 9 months of our spare time to rebuild the cottage. We think you will love it as much as we do!
