This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath single level home that is only five steps up, not a second story house like so many others. In the evening look out to Aransas Bay on the shaded front deck and enjoy the morning on double back decks, one covered, that overlook the canal. The home has an open floor plan with a vaulted ceiling, neutral tile flooring, plantation shutters across the front and back, and tract lighting.
The leaded glass front door opens to the living room decorated with a flair and equipped with an entertain center that has a television, DVD, and stereo. The sofa converts into a double bed. A bright well stocked kitchen is in the center with a "zip zag" tile bar seating four for cooking conversation, and the dining area has a wall of windows to the back deck and canal. The back door is stained glass.
The master bedroom with a king size bed has a double closet with a stack of wire baskets from the Container Store for storage. The connecting bath has a tile shower. There is a bedroom with a set of antique twin beds and a bedroom with a queen size bed. All the bedrooms have black out shades and fresh carpeting. The hall bathroom has a large shower with a seat. The sink, countertop, and shower are all decorated with hand-made fish design tile from Mexico.
All the decor is bright and cheerful. There is a one car (or boat) garage that is extra long for storage. The washer/dryer are in the garage. The house has grey vinyl siding trimmed with white and teal accents. The front on the house is pebble wash that provides ample parking for several vehicles. There is a lighted fish cleaning stand and dock. Available also is a crab trap. Just around the corner is a community pool.
My grandchildren set up a most sucessful lemonade stand that also sold brownies one summer day not long ago out front. They had great fun and made some money that immediately stimulated Walmart's economy.

Why the Owner Chose Rockport
Great get-a-way place to relax. Active art community with many festivals, restaurants, and good shopping. There's nothing like salt air to sooth the soul. The nearby Aransas Wildlife refuge is the winter home to the endangered whooping crane and offers a great place to hike and view nature wildlife including some of the best birding available anywhere. Duck hunting is also a favorite winter sport for many. The Rockport Country Club with its top rated 18 hole golf course, pool, and tennis courts reciprocates with nearly any private club. Available only by boat, the Gulf beaches on nearby Saint Jo's island has some of the best shelling ever ! Key Allego and along the beach road are great places to walk or bike. Our private membership to the exclusive Key Allegro Yacht Club would be extended to guests at our home where cash or credit cards are accepted.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Great fishing, boating, the only Blue Wave Beach in Texas, plus unbelievable Fourth of July fireworks! Very safe and friendly town. Perfect winter climate for Winter Texans. Frequent tour getaways to Mexico, King Ranch, or other interests. Corpus Christi is only about 40 minutes away and has many tourist attractions including the Texas State Aquarium, several top quality art and history museums plus the WWII aircraft carrier Lexington, replicas of Columbus' three ships, a Botanical Garden, dog racing track, plus outstanding restaurants and shopping. We recently took our grandchildren to the Natural History Museum under the big bridge in Corpus and were most impressed. It's outstanding and so is the Aquarium.

We live in Beeville about 75 miles away. Our children learned to water ski in Little Bay and to love salt water fishing in the 1980's. My husband and I purchased this home in 1994 and now our grandchildren as well are enjoying the same experience. However, now there are also many jet skis and kayaks. Fishing is still great for all ages and nothing tastes better than fish for dinner that was swimming the night before. We have recently purchased a second larger home for our expanding family in our favorite neighborhood, Key Allegro.

We stayed for a week in this property and had such a great time. From the living area in the front of the house you have a beautiful view of the bay. The covered back porch has a ceiling fan, great landscape, and is very relaxing. The canal is very quiet, with not much boat traffic going in and out. The front bathroom shower is very roomy and is great if you have kids (easy to get them in and out). Also, the beds are very comfortable. We were able to meet the owners during our stay and they are very nice and accommodating. I would rate our stay as Excellent!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.
