Our family spent a wonderful week in this unique and charming old farmhouse with modern amenities. LOVED the steam shower AND the tub. The house is very spacious with room to spread out. Beds are really comfortable. The kitchen accomodated all six 'cooks' at once and the screen porch was the nightly scene for lingering dinners and conversation. The game room saw lots of action as I once again proved I am the spelling queen in the family :) It goes without saying that much of our time was spent at the private beach area and the dock. We pulled our boat rental from North Hero Marina right up for boarding and spent a wonderful day on the lake cruising around/fishing (had the bass for supper!) and swimming. Kayaking was fantastic as well. You must try the Ruthcliff Restaurant, a hidden gem with delicious food and a magnificent view. The grounds are spacious, the veggie garden fruitful and the ping pong and pool tables in the barn just great fun! Adirondack chairs in the front yard for reading and conversation made each day special. Many day trips to take depending on your interests., all within reasonable distance. My family hadn't been together in 10 years and we could not have found a better place to spend this time together. I highly recommend this wonderful place for any type of family gathering. Thank you to the owners for opening their lovely home to us. We will see you again!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Our week at this property ranks at the top of all vacation destinations. It was perfect for us...three generations...grandparents, children, and grandchildren. Great facilities, comfortable beds and a kitchen with everything. There was something to do for everyone and then some left for a return visit. Highlights included swimming in the lake, cooking hot dogs and roasting marshmallows on the beach, kayaking, picking vegetables in the garden, golfing at nearby course, ping pong and pool in the barn, rocking on the porch, and watching beautiful sunsets. A perfect place for biking and taking walks. The steam shower in the master bath was also a big hit! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a lovely week - the gardens & beach offered lots of opportunities for relaxing - had lots of fun playing pool & darts in the barn - saw some fabulous sunsets over the lake and the odd dramatic thunderstorms - had some lovely bbqs and the house had all the facilities you could wish for - we all loved sitting in the outdoors rocking chairs and swing under the shed porch pretending to be "The Walton Family"!! -we would all definitely recommend thisRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and I stayed at the farmhouse last week and we had an amazing time. The house was nice and cozy, but at the same time it was roomy with 5 bedrooms, a good sized kitchen, a large living room, a puzzle room, and a game room in the barn. We had a blast taking pictures of the sunset, collecting colorful maple leaves, and picking fresh veggies from the garden. I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a relaxing "get away" from the busy city life, or for anyone interested in an amazing experience they will never forget.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Stop looking further if your looking for the perfect place to stay! The house is very cozy and clean. Beds comfortable. Very large house & property for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. (Our age group varied from 2yrs old to 67yrs). Kari was very helpful throughout the entire process and made us feel VERY welcome. We will without a doubt be returning here- hopefully on a yearly basis! I wouldn't even think of looking somewhere else. Great dinners on the screened in porch, followed by beautiful sunsets & bonfires on the large beach- who could ask for more? The location was perfect for some peace and quiet, but at the same time there was a ton to do all within a reasonable distance. Mr. Mike (the caretaker) has a wealth of information and is willing to tell you anything you need to know about the island- and I mean ANYTHING! oh yeah, he makes a mean bbq pork also! Thank you to the Szari family- we never expected that our vacation would turn out as PERFECT as it did! Other owners should take a few lessons from you! You deserve more than the 5 star rating!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We just returned from our week at this wonderful property in Vermont. The charming farmhouse has recently been renovated and is beautiful. My son enjoyed catching yellow perch in the lake as well as skipping rocks and playing basketball. My husband and daughter enjoyed kayaking (we brought our own kayak) and collecting rocks, shells and "sea glass". We enjoyed the different birds and the beautiful flowers in the yard. A small shop that serves "Cre-mees" is nearby and we visited several times. We enjoyed being within driving distance of several attractions - Burlington, Shelbourne Museum & Farms, Ben & Jerry's, Cabot Creamery, maple sugar and chocolate stores/tours - just to name a few. We also drove into New York to Whiteface Mountain (with a gorgeous view of Lake Placid). The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have internet access so we could easily get directions to places we wanted to visit. There were plenty of pots and pans to cook with and all of the appliances worked. It is always nice to have a washer and dryer on vacation. The owners were very responsive in answering our questions before we rented and took care of everything in a timely manner. We would definately visit this property again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
