Welcome to the Morrisey Crystal Chalet. This home was completed in December of 2008. Our vacation home is made up of three levels.
The first level is the garage, entrance, laundry, and rental suite. The garage is oversized and easily fits two cars. The covered entrance is vaulted, spacious, and leads to the 2nd level. The laundry room has a laundry sink, washer, dryer, and ironing board. .The rental suite is currently rented for a one year term by a couple that works on the mountain.
The 2nd level is made up of the great room, wet bar, kitchen, dinning room, computer desk, bathroom, and bedroom one. The great room is the place to hang out and enjoy the floor to ceiling windows, 50 inch plasma TV, Sirius sat. radio and granite wet bar. The see thru fire place leads to the dinning area and wide open kitchen which also has a 50 inch plasma TV, Sirius sat. radio, and a gas range. The computer desk is apart of the dinning area and offers free wireless internet. Bedroom one is the largest bedroom with a queen sized bed and bunk bed (single over double) This room has a 42 inch plasma TV, Sirius SAT radio, and large walk in closet. The bathroom on this level is a full bathroom with a 5 foot tub shower unit and heated slate tile floors.
Level three is made up of 3 more bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedroom number two is the master bedroom. This bedroom has a ensuite with a tiled shower, soaker tub, and a heated slate tile floor. The bedroom itself has a queen bed, large walk in closet, 42 inch plasma TV, and Sirius sat. radio. Bedroom number 3 has a queen bed, large walk in closet, and 42 plasma TV. Bedroom number 4 has two bunk beds both single over doubles, large walk in closet, and a 42 plasma TV. The other bathroom on this floor has double sinks, a 5 foot tub shower unit, and heated slate tile floor.
Outside has a large back patio with a gas BBQ (summer only), patio furniture (summer only), 6 man hot tub , and Sirius SAT radio. The front of the house has a large deck over the garage that views the mountains and golf course. This deck has patio furniture as well (summer only)

Hi my name is Mike Newman proud owner of this beautiful property and president of Newman Homes Ltd. Newman Homes builds custom homes in the Kamloops area. In 2006 we had a vision to create a luxury home that we could use ourselves and also rent to the many visitors Sun Peaks attracts. In Late 2008 our dream became a reality and this home was an instant hit with vacationers.
Why the Owner Chose Sun Peaks
Sun Peaks is quickly becoming a first class resort and they attract visitors from around the world. Mountain View Drive backs onto Mountain Morrisey and has amazing views of the surrounding mountains, ski runs, valley, and golf course. A future chair is going to be added to service Mountain View Drive and provide a link to some great black diamond runs. When this property became available the decision to get involved was very easy.
The Unique Benefits of this House
When coming home from a day of skiing or golf you will be able to relax in comfort. Our 23 foot high great room offers floor to ceiling windows with exceptional views. Mix a drink at the granite wet bar or cook a dinner in our wide open spacious kitchen. Check your email at our computer desk or logon to our wireless network with your laptop. Watch a little TV from one of our 6 plasma TVs. Turn on the Sirius SAT radio and listen to your favorite type of music from six areas of the house. Step out the back door and jump into our 6 man hot tub located in a private backyard setting.

More than I ever expected

Our family has stayed at many houses across the BC Ski Resorts throughout the past ten years. For most of them, the skiing is great, the area is interesting, and the accomodations are acceptable. With Morrisey Chalet we have found the best of all. We first found this rental as a place to stay the first year it was available. We instantly fell in love with the house, the amenities, and Sun Peaks as a resort. Since that first year, we have made our annual trip with our best friends and we have never looked for another place to stay. From the beginning we were amazed at the features of the house, the care that was taken in the construction and layout, and the thoughtfulness of the layout. You feel like you are on top of the world with plenty of room for our two families, an amazing view of the mountain, and plenty to do when you are winding down from a long day of skiing. Mike and his crew take personal accountability for your stay being all that you expected, and it has always been the best of the best for us. Sun Peaks, in the meantime, has truly become a world class ski resort. With terrian that keeps us finding new runs even after years of being there, fantastic selection that will accomodate everything from beginners to tree skiing to runs that are measured in miles, there is something for everyone.

This vacation house is so perfect, this will be our third year in a row to stay during ski season! This house is so large, two families can easily share with room to spare. We loved skiing all day and relaxing at this chalet all night. Skiing is a short 2 minute drive away. Sun Peaks has light, powdery snow with a ton of runs and great variety. Plenty of good places to eat (we love Mountain High Pizza). For extra fun, takes the kids to the outdoor skating rink or to the intertube hill. We think you've done a great job designing this vacation home Mike, we wouldn't change anything and plan to continue coming back each year! Thanks for sharing your fantastic Sun Peaks home!
