Explore, experience the great northwest by staying in this pristine & private forest setting on 14 acres. The majority is flat with hiking paths through out the property, or bike trails if you prefer. Lawn areas open up to two small, private, creekside "beach" areas for sunbathing, swimming/playing or just sitting in Cow Creek. Enjoy the "fruits" of an organic garden & orchard. See stars like you've never seen before. WINTER @ TimberRidge; snuggle in or walk the paths in the snow. See the beauty of nature & the stillness of winter .... Have a white Xmas!
This is like having your own personal camp ground! Wildlife abound. We even have a herd of Elk that if you are lucky, you may see as they walk to the creek to drink. Bird watching is a fun pastime. We have a pair of Pileated woodpeckers who claim TimberRidge as their own.
Bring your fishing or ski boat, the near-by lake accommodates it all. Or ask about a boat excursion with skipper Dan. Galesville dam and recreation lake area is 3 miles close. A boat ramp, picnic area, swimming area and overnight camp ground are available all year. There is Azalea General store that sells essentials and fishing licenses. You can buy a day license. The store is at the I-5 junction of exit 88 where you would turn off to head to the property.
I-5, exit 88 and then follow Upper Cow Crk Rd for 11 miles into the spectacular Umpqua forest and past the Galesville dam to TimberRidge. A 13 minute scenic drive back to I-5 & then 9 mi north to the nearby town of Canyonville provides shopping, antiquing, several restaurants to choose from including an organic bakery/food store, and the great casino & gaming center, Seven Feathers. Map & Owner's Profile
Oregon Mountain Vacation Destination at Timberridge
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Azalea
We saw this as a unique property with so many awesome features from the giant conifers that tower above to year-round Cow Creek that runs through the "back yard". This is a piece of So. Oregon forest at its pristine best. This is our future retirement home and we love sharing its beauty with others as we continue to improve, add features and create a forest wonderland. It's like having your own private campground! And, always, the ever changing Cow Creek.
The Unique Benefits at this Country House / Chateau
What is unique to TimberRidge is the privacy, the quiet peacefulness of being in nature & the forest. You can play in the creek, float down all the way to the lake or just a little ways. Lounge under the giant tree canopy, or sit and enjoy the views from the many sitting areas on the property. Stroll the walking paths, or take a vigorous walk on logging roads or mountain paths. Ride bicycles, enjoy fishing, boating or swimming at nearby Galesville dam. In the winter, snuggle in by the wood stove, play games, read a good book, watch a movie or two. Take a stroll in the snow, watch the creek roar to life with winter rains from the deck above.
Owner's Map of Azalea
Dan & Ginny fell in love with TimberRidge the moment they walked onto this private piece of heaven in the woods. They continue to develop these 14 Acres with love and enjoy it the most when they can share it's beauty with others. Their family welcomes your family... Come to see the progress made each visit & become part of our "extended family" & friends. We would love you to write in our Guestbook about your stay & welcome feed-back.
