Standing in the Rancho (outdoor cooking area as well as yoga) you are high upon pillars with a panoramic view of the amphitheater valley of Tres Rios de Coronado, the mountains, the jungle surround, the Pacific Ocean … all nestled on a mountain hillside between Ojochal and the new San Buenas Golf course.
This site enjoys the rushing river sounds below, a daily breeze from below, many on-site grown edibles (papayas, pineapple, guavas, mangos, avocados, water apples, yucca), gorgeous bio-diverse gardens, privacy, 24 hour security and endless adventure all around.
We are located centrally between Ojochal and San Buenas, with the Palmar Norte airport 20 minutes away, new Cortes Hospital 8 mins., San Buenas golf course 5 minutes, beaches 10 mins., surfing 35 mins., fishing 40 mins., and loads of activities to enjoy and chose from. We are away from the coastal road affording you a quiet, and “noseeum”-free existence.
The villa is large (850 square feet) with a bedroom and living room-kitchen area. Extra beds can be added to either room. The bathroom is large, with double sinks, and you will have your own walk-in closet that is lockable. You have a number of cooking choices: in your own villa kitchen, up in the group Rancho, by request from our staff or one of the many fine restaurants (Indian, Indonesian, French, Tico, International, etc. ) within minutes.
Maid service is available should you choose. Enjoy our extra services from Natural Spa treatments to yoga when available.
There are a total of four villas to rent, so you can plan a trip with a group, different families or friends.

Why the Owner Chose Ojochal
I chose to come to Costa Rica because it reminded me so much of my life in Sumatra as a child ... a life I loved. I bought the property and had the place built starting in 2005. It is exquisitely beautiful and I am very proud of it and the beautiful gardens and atmosphere I have created. Why this area? This is the most beautiful part of Costa Rica and the only place in CR where the mountains come right down to and flow into the Pacific ocean. Also, we still retain a lot of primary forest and I love the canopy and the animals, the biodiversity and all of nature here.
The Unique Benefits at this Large Luxury Villa
We offer SAFETY. What most don’t realize when renting a house makes in Costa Rica, you are more or less a prisoners of that house. It is not safe to leave your home unattended for any length of time. Here, we have a 24 hour presence, a gate we lock at night, two big guard dogs and a jungle hillside you would not want to climb in the dark. We are very PRIVATE with no commercial noise, highways and neighbors. Our site on the hillside provides us privacy from others. We are far back enough from the beach to enjoy late afternoon and early morning peace and calm from the "noseeums". We are close to or in the middle of all activities. The choices of things to do here are many and adventurous. Besides being just a gorgeous place to stay we have yoga to offer, Natural SPA Treatments, gardens to enjoy, fruit and goodies ready to pluck and a very peaceful existence. Our roads are better than most and we are not so far up the mountain you feel comfortable driving. Surrounding us are numerous rivers to trek, waterfalls and pools to swim in, all very clean and natural.

I am a very adventurous, yet relaxed and spiritual person who came to Costa Rica to leave behind the concrete jungle and craziness in many parts of the world. I have found my Shangri-La here. I grew up in Sumatra, Indonesia on a Goodyear rubber plantation and loved the lifestyle we had, learning a new language and living with different peoples of the world. I had a clinic in the Seattle area where I practiced Stress Management, Biofeedback and Neurofeedback and had a small herb farm in the San Juan Islands. I am very interested in natural medicines, healthy habits of life and enjoying my wonderful dogs and gardens. I am a pilot and had my own plane in the states which I used to fly to work and to visit my daughters. By profession, I am a nurse and have a master’s in psychology but don’t practice those professions.
