For the past 10 years, my friends and I have gone skiing, at least, annually in Vermont. For the first 8 years we made it a point to seek out new lodging for each trip. That is until we found the Great Bear Lodge. Since we started renting this home two years ago there has not been 1 person who has not been taken aback by how beautiful it is. It is unequivocally the nicest house I have ever rented and perfect for entertaining.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

All I can say is wow! Myself and a large group of friends stayed at this house over the winter and it was an amazing weekend. It snowed pretty much every day we were there and everything was up to par. The driveway was clean. The hot tub was clean and ready to go. The house is absolutely gorgeous. There was plenty of room for people to sleep. Cooking in the kitchen was a breeze and the house offered plenty of amenities. this house exceeding any and all expectations. Unbelievable great room, accomodated a large group of 17 and made for an excellent ski weekend away with friends. The home is two minutes from the access road making it easy to get to all nightlife, restaurants, shops and ski areas. The owner was readily avialable and made sure the house was in pristine condition when we arrived. Will definitely be making this a regular weekend away, highly recommended!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

This house was perfect for my family get-away. We had 12 people, 11 adults and 1 child. The enormous great room and open kitchen and dining area was perfect for us all to be able to stay together, whether cooking, sitting by the fire or even out on the large porch. The location is right off the access road and seconds from everything; the mountain, dining, nightlife. We will definitely be back next year!Did you find this review helpful? Stayed at the house in March with a bunch of friends. Beautiful house. Great for families, etc... but the heat went out and we realized there was a problem w the furnace. Luckily we were able to get in touch with manager from Amazing Homes VT to get it fixed. But just like the previous comments I too am waiting for my security deposit back...and it's now July. Totally unecessary. Hate to write this review but I have called and emailed multiple numbers and addresses with no successful contact. We rented the Great Bear Lodge in February. The place is nice enough, with a lovely great room, but there were all sorts of problems. No heat in the upstairs. We phoned about this upon arrival and no one ever came out to look at it. We found a fan and managed to blow air down the hall from wood-burning stove in the great room, but the temperature dropped at night. The kitchen was missing all sorts of essential items, like sufficient utensils. BUT most disturbingly, it's now May and I still haven't received my security deposit back. I've made repeated calls to all sorts of phone numbers. Finally received a message to send my address (which of course they have anyway) to what turned out to be a defunct e-mail address. This is either very poor management or a scam. I'm contemplating legal action, though I don't know how to proceed. I would definitely not rent this place.Did you find this review helpful?
