I was born in Perth, Western Australia and moved to Taos when I learned and became hooked on skiing. Taos is a wonderful ski area in that it is challenging and the people are very friendly. After initially spending only winters in Taos, I soon realized that Taos is a wonderful place year round. I love to hike and mountain bike with friends and my dog Lilly.

The pictures do not do justice to this wonderful home. It's spacious, yet cozy, and has views of Taos Mt. that take your breath away. Unlike many vacation homes that scrimp on basic necessities, this one has every thing you need and more. Gail is a gracious host who made our stay very enjoyable and we can't wait to return for another visit.

The listing met all my expectations and more. Our family had a wonderful time-it was very spacious, we enjoyed the wildlife (especially the hummingbirds) . The owner was very friendly and gracious. It definitely felt like we were in the country-but so close to town. I would recommend this property.

Needing to get out of town, I found myself with friends at this incredible home. Yes, it IS a home. Gail has made the house into a real hidden treasure - comfortable, close to town, yet far enough away to allow a feeling of seclusion (should you desire that), gorgeous rooms with yummy beds. Gail is a world class hostess. I felt like family by the time I left. Her knowledge of the area is unbeatable. I could go on and on but I will simply say that if you are looking for a place in Taos, this should be the one.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Nestled high on 5 acres of gradually rising land, 2 minutes from Taos central and a half hour drive to the ski resort, is more than a ski condo. Its even more than a ski lodge. It is a SKI RANCH! 2 stories of 4 kingsize bedrooms, 3 of which have ensuites, large kitchen, dining and lounge with an oversized flatscreen and all the cable stations. There are no other houses within earshot and the snow covered high desert plain offers panoramic views of the mountains and the ski valley. The attributes are not limited to the physical, because there is your landlady and host, Gail (we call her "GK"). GK is the Queen Social Bee of Taos and the ski valley. There is no one she doesn't know and GK has an angle on everthing - right down to bartering Tim Tam chocolate biscuits and Vegemite for cheap ski passes. Just ask where the best social outing will be tonight or where the best bar or restaurant is and the info flows. Hook up with the hostess of the mostess and book your ski ranch now!

Our stay in Taos, for the final week of snowboarding for this winter, was a 'triple score' due to this fantastic accomodation. Extremely warm & relaxing home feel, spacious, well equipped & close by to all Taos must 'see & do'. Views from the house are breathtaking! Gail is the top host & as friendly & warm as her house. I highly recommend. We will be returning:)

Spring break in Taos

My family of five rented this house for a ski trip to Taos during spring break. We found the home to be attractive, spacious, clean and very comfortable. There is tasteful artwork and high end appliances throughout. There's also a heated wraparound porch which is perfect for watching sunsets and a rooftop deck as well. Gail was great- she had sleds for the kids and even had the fire going for us when we got into town. The property is gated which was great for letting the kids play outside, yet we were only a five minute drive to downtown. Overall a great home and I would recommend to anyone planning a trip to Taos.

Four of my friends and I rented this house for a ski trip to Taos, and had a fabulous time. The house is very comfortable, attractive and tastefully decorated. It was spacious for our party of five and close enough to town to be convenient, but quiet too. The owner, Gail, could not have been any more accomodating. I would strongly recommend this house to anyone looking for a Taos rental.
