We are located In Carlsbad Village Proper , this newly remodeled classic one story beach cottage is a true reminder of our once sleepy beach/surf town. It sleeps up to 4 only with comfortable Queen in the spacious guest room , a nice Queen pull out sofa bed in the main room and a single futon if needed.

Has Fully equipped kitchen stocked with dishes, flatware, pots, pans , knives, blender, gas range/oven, coffee maker, microwave, full refrigerator/freezer, toaster and almost everything you would need to cook up and serve a great meal in the comforts of home. Also includes iron n board, hair dryer n hand soaps.
* Free washer and dryer on site with everything you need to wash your clothes the way you like , when you like.
* Secured lockable storage available upon request for bikes, surfboards, kayaks or whatever

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Village
Our family purchased the property with thoughts of redeveloping it one day because of the close proximity to Carlsbad Village and Carlsbad State Beach. Our thoughts have changed though since all of the issues with the economy and banking system, so we completely remodeled the Cottages this year and turned them from long term into Carlsbad vacation rentals. The location is perfect, a couple of short blocks to the beach for Walking, swimming, surfing, sand castles and the Carlsbad Village is only a block away with all of the nice shops and restaurants.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
First and foremost the location is perfect, especially if you don't like to drive everywhere when on vacation. It gives everyone some time during the day to do your to explore our beautiful sandy beaches and Village with just a short 2 minute walk back to the Cottage. Our Cottages are located a block from the Heart of Carlsbad Villages down town, full of shops, restaurants, salons, coffee shops, live music and more to discover. Lego Land is very close 5 min, Sea World and Zoo 30 min, Wild Animal Park 40 min, or take a walk up the beach to Oceanside pier.
This is a great location for visiting. Short walk to the the center of the Village and 2 blocks from the sand/surf. It's nice not to drive a lot on vacation to enjoy yourself where your staying.
This is our closest beach, nice soft clean sand and just 2 blocks from the Cottage. the photos I have posted were all taken here both on the boardwalk and the surfing as well.
The train station is two blocks should you want to take a coastal trip north or south. It stops in most little coastal cities, San Clemente, Oceanside, Carlsbad Village, Encinitas, Solana Beach. Amtrak does not stop here.
Great restaurant for fish and is open for lunch and Dinner. The also have a fresh fish counter where you can buy it and take it home to bake or BBQ. My favorite to go meal is the hot chowder with hot bread.
Great place for the whole family with a beach type setting. Great Pizza, brewery, video games for the kids and they also play surfing videos most of the time.
Great little outdoor coffee shop with fire pits, great coffee and the best pastries in Carlsbad. All kinds of different treats to choose from. They also make sandwiches, some breakfast items.
7-11 store that is very well stocked also in the same location is Kim's Flower shop for fresh flowers.
Great food and the breakfast is my personal favorite in Carlsbad, but a little more expensive then most breakfast spots. a few indoor tables, but primarily outdoor dining with glass wind screens. Can see the ocean form this location too.
Albertson's grocery store, True Value hardware, sushi restaurant, Liquor store, 7-11, laundry mat , bar, gas station, local pharmacy, french bakery.
Daily News Cafe, Norte Mexican food, jewelry store, Century 21, gift Shop,Carlsbad Inn.
Starbucks, Coyote Bar and Restaurant, 2 other coffee shops, sub shop, gift shops, UPS store, Italian, Yoga Restaurant, smoothies. There are probably 30 different types of shops and restaurants.

Hello, our Family has lived in California since the 40's and we finally relocated to Carlsbad in 1981. It was everything we hope it to be with the clean air, access to the Village on foot and the beach/ocean which is out main love. Along with working hard we enjoy having fun too and have spent a lot of time boating and camping along the Colorado river system since the 1960's. Our family lives in the area along with some other relatives who live close by. We have a pilot, contractor, one in the entertainment industry, automotive industry and we tinker in Real Estate a bit too.

This is my third stay with Mike. Mike is a pleasure to work with. His places are clean, tidy, nicely located and well appointed. We stay in rentals so we can cook and his kitchens have all I need, plus a bbq and outdoor table. I have stayed other places when Mike has been booked. I had to pay more and the places weren't as well equipped for cooking. So book early as he fills up and enjoy your stay.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Our trip over the week of Memorial Day was so perfect, thanks in a huge part to the great cottage and Michael's warm welcome! The location is ideal. The beach is only a few short blocks away, easy to walk there even carry items like a chair, umbrella and boogie boards (all kindly included in our stay!). There is a 7 Eleven on the corner for those quick trips for milk or a snack. The train and bus station are a short walk away as is great shopping and small restaurants. The cottage was super clean, well stocked for anything you may want to cook. The linens are nice, all kitchen items are well cared for. The yard was a great spot to read a book. The train does go by several times throughout the day, honking the horn as it passes through the intersection. We live where it's super quiet and we found that the sound was not even an issue. When in Southern California we will stay nowhere else! We can't say enough good things to everyone we talk to! The Lefko's

This is a great place and a great deal. The walk to the beach is quick and it is away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. The yard was perfect for our kids, it was like a big playpen with a locking gate. Mike is a great host and the unit was stocked with all of our needs. The most popular local restaurants are right around the corner, we never needed to get in our car at all. Cant wait to go back.

This rental was perfect for our budgeted honeymoon! The cottage was clean & organized, providing any need possible aside from food & clothes. The location was great. The Village of Carlsbad was within walking distance and we walked there for breakfast every morning. The weather that whole week was perfect! Frazee beach was a block away & we spent every evening & several afternoons there. The landlord, Michael, was always available & very courteous. Our first night, we were cold & couldn't figure the heater. I didn't have Michael's number yet, so I emailed him asking how to turn the heat on. He arrived 10 min later & showed us how. He was friendly & helpful in suggesting places to go or things to do. Very laid back cool guy. We really enjoyed our stay here & completely recommend it & look forward to staying there again someday.

My husband and I stayed here for one week the first part of November. Had a relaxing time here...very clean, comfortable and well located cottage. Walked lots of places in Carlsbad Village, enjoyed the Farmer's Market and many shops there and wonderful walks on the beach and boardwalk. Owner was VERY helpful and able to answer any question we had. Would stay here again, no problem! Thank you Mike for all of your hospitality!

My husband and I stayed in the cottage 9/26 thru 9/29 and loved it. The cottage is within walking distance to the beach and has all the chairs, towels, umbrellas and extras you might want or need. Everything was in excellent condition. The bed, IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! Everything was clean and comfy and Michael was a wonderful owner. He had great suggestions for dinner and was happy to accomidate any requests he could. We will be back again!!! Thank you Michael for such a memorable stay.

This is a fabulous rental in Carlsbad. Just two blocks from the beach and one block from all the downtown restaurants and shops. You don't need a car while you're here, just take the Coaster from San Diego and you can walk to the cottage. You will find it exactly as described. The full kitchen was put to good use as was the BBQ grill and patio furniture in the private back yard. All items needed for the beach were there for you including beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, boogie boards, cooler and shovels and pails. There is a big flat screen TV (but no reason for TV with the beach so close). Can't say enough about the host, Michael who was very helpful answering our questions. You may even get to meet his dog, Dude!! You can't go wrong with this rental.

My wife Elisabeth and I stayed 3 days in this lovely cottage on our 3 week tour through California: a bit too short. The cottage was spacious and clean and it felt like a home away from home especially because of Michael's hospitality. I's just a short walk to the beach, stores and restaurants. There is ample parking space and everything you need for a nice day at the beach (such as towels, beach chairs, umbrellas). The price is also more than fair. We can recommend this house to anyone who isn't looking for posh places like Rodeo Av. Jim

We stayed here for a week of wonderful experiences. Everything was as described and then some! We had beautiful facilities that were spotless. The owner was available and answered ALL questions, plus offering additional suggestions. It is VERY convenient to all the attractions.
