we stayed at the home for 4 nights over the holidays and enjoyed it immensely! the house is spacious, cozy and clean, and the location close to Mt Hood ski resorts and hiking is great. but the best part is the gorgeous view of the Sandy River right outside the door, flanked by beautiful oregon trees. although it was cold, we loved walking down by the river and up the local road. We wished we could have spent more time enjoying the sights and sounds of the river location, but will have to return in warm weather to do so! but in general the house is great - so many VRBO houses are a crapshoot, but this one was great. highly recommend.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We travel a lot and I must say this is the most beautiful place we have been in. The cabin was clean, and had more than extra items that you might need. The river was another story, just beautiful to see what God has created and we all take for granted. The river had the clearest water and to set there and listen to the roar of it with the birds singing and a gentle wind in the trees was breath taking. We will be back hopefully next year.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family stayed here when they came to visit. What a beautiful house you have! The river frontage was awesome as well. I like that you have mostly native plants there. It is a wonderful base to explore the mountain area from, or for my elderly parents, to just enjoy the Sandy.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this Sandy River Cabin over the weekend and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. We often have trouble sleeping away from home, usually the beds are not as comfortable as ours back home etc. Not the case here... The queen beds at this cabin were some of the most comfortable we have slept in. We made S'mores in the fire pit next to the River, we watched movies (from their selection), we made fantastic meals in their kitchen and played some of the many games they have at the gorgeous dinner table. We took the kids to Government camp (15 minutes away) for some tubing and had lunch at the Rendezvous Tap Room (yummy). We had four adults and four children (ages 2-5) We had more than enough room and the cabin was perfect for all of us. We did buy some "kid cups" and left them for the next family to use. I think it's important to mention, that the pictures and descriptions for this property are spot on (actually they don't fully show how nice this cabin is) which I have found to be hit or miss with other rentals on VBRO. We can't wait to be regulars at this Sandy River Cabin.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This home has so much to offer. It has a generous open floor plan where a family can get together and relax in a beautiful mountain setting with an amazing view of the river. Our visit was in January and we loved waking up to the sound of the river and fresh fallen snow. The bedrooms are extra comfortable with plenty of room, especially the master bedroom. The owners have certainly made it a place where you will want to come back again and again. Truly a wonderful setting to get away from it all with family or friends.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Our family of four (with two teenagers) wanted somewhere outside of Portland to enjoy the beauty of Oregon and we certainly found it at this property! The river view is fantastic and the sound of the rushing water was so nice to wake up to. The house itself was everything that was listed in the description and nicer than any house we will ever live in! The owners were prompt with email replies and very pleasant to deal with. Would definitely recommend this property! (We would also recommend River Drifters in Maupin for any whitewater rafting - very professional and fun.)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I wanted a special vacation for our son and his friends to celebrate their recent high school graduation. We couldn't have planned better. The cabin was everything we could have dreamed of and then some! Snowboarding at Timberline Lodge was a less than 30 minute drive from door to door. Fly fishing in the Deschutes River was awesome. Portland was beautiful and clean. We would love to do it all over again!!!! Thank you!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at this cabin and had a wonderful time. We were looking for a quiet, secluded place in the mountains, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. After driving around the area we concluded that we lucked out with this cabin, it was the nicest in the area with the best spot on the river. There are neighbors (so not completely secluded), but only one other home can be seen from inside the cabin - through the kitchen window - and it was mostly unoccupied during our stay. The pictures of this cabin, though accurate, don't do it justice; it is really well constructed and decorated nicely. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a wonderful three nights in this lovely cabin. It is just as gorgeous as the pictures show and the view of the river is amazing! The cabin is very clean, stocked and well kept. We were lucky and it had just snowed - that was a real treat! It was just beautiful!! This cabin is a great "homebase" if you plan to visit any of the mountains ski resorts. We were able to take the kids snowboarding at Timberline and to White Water West Sno Park to sled another day and its just a quick drive up the mountain! We enjoyed the kitchen and great room. The large open floor plan and the great selection of fun family board games made for great evenings. We hope to visit again! Thank you Daniel and Mary for sharing your special cabin in the woods.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
