Originally a hospital located directly across the street from the Brewster County courthouse, the Wright Building Guest Quarters have been stylishly remodeled into comfortable downtown guest quarters while maintaining their historical charm.
Each room is furnished with a combination of new designer and antique furniture tied together with lovely accents and hand chosen art. No two rooms are the same and careful editing means they are not overdone. Pillow topped beds are dressed with 100% cotton linens and lightweight down comforters. I pod dock alarm clocks mean that you can bring your personal soundtrack with you. Feel like you’re enjoying a hip urban retreat in the middle of far West Texas!
This unique cottage is stocked with Aveda amenities and locally roasted, organic coffee. We are within close walking distance of Amtrak, groceries, restaurants, bars, galleries and shopping. You can enjoy the lively culture of downtown Alpine or visit the beautiful and diverse Big Bend and Davis Mountain region. Alpine is the perfect home base from which to explore Marfa, Fort Davis, Marathon, Terlingua or Balmorreah or pack a cooler and head out to one of our spectacular parks: Big Bend National Park, Big Bend State Ranch or The Davis Mountain State Park.

My husband and I opened Americana in 1996. It has been my pleasure to serve the residents of and visitors to the Big Bend region with quality salon services and Aveda products and now we have remodeled and furnished the building next door to our shop for guests. We are fortunate to live in this friendly and diverse town and love to share it's charms with visitors from all over.
Why the Owner Chose Alpine
This property, formerly a doctor's residence and hospital, has charmed me for years. It has been a privilege and a pleasure reinventing it as a salon and guest quarters. It could not be a better location and the lush pecan trees and shy family of ground squirrels delight me daily.
