Thank you for viewing our listing. We lost our original cottage in an arson and have just rebuilt a gorgeous custom 2009 Linwood home on our waterfront lot. The home is approx 2500 sq. ft. and everything is new.
The main level has a huge Great Room that is open to the dining room, spacious deck and large fully equipped kitchen. The great room has a gas fireplace that extends 21 ft. up. There is a 32" flat screen TV and DVD player, 4 couches and lots of space to relax & view the lake. The master bedroom is on the main level and it has a king bed and ensuite bath (clawfoot tub, glass shower & huge vanity). There is also a laundry room with washer/dryer and storage that leads to the garage. This level sleeps 2. Wireless internet & satellite are included.
The upstairs loft has 2 bedrooms. The first is a guest room with a queen bed and secondly, we have a bunk room with a set of bunkbeds and 2 single beds. There is a full bathroom upstairs as well. This level sleeps 6.
The lower level walks out to the lake & patio space. We have 2 bedrooms on this level. One has a queen bed & the other is a double. The sectional in the second living area has a queen bed pullout that is brand new. There is a full bathroom on this level as well to service the bedrooms. This level sleeps 4-6.

Year Purchased: 2001
We are a family of 3. We have been renting for 8 years and have met many wonderful families along the way. My husband and I have a 2 year old son. We currently reside in Toronto and both work in IT. One day we plan to retire in our beloved lakefront home.
Why the Owner Chose White Dummer Lake
We originally bought in this location because we loved the lake & with the nearby amenities we have the best of both worlds. We prefer a quieter fishing lake than a busy boating lake. There are no houseboats on our lake, few skidoos & great fishing. Our lake is however fed by Stoney Lake and so there is a boat launch across the street onto Stoney Lake for those days we want to boat on the Trent Severn lake system. The drive is quick. The road is plowed seasonally & so we enjoy our lakehouse year round and love the proximity to so many different activities.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
We think one of the most unique benefits of this property is the design. Given we had owned the cottage for 6 years before the fire, when it came to building, we knew exactly how we wanted to use the new space. The house is big and spacious so you never feel crowded. The areas are wonderful for gathering with family & friends. The BBQ is right off the dining room & kitchen - the deck is huge with amazing views. The lakefront is fantastic for kids and fishing. We can catch large & small mouth bass off the dock! We absolutely love our home and believe you will too.

My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend in September at this cottage with our 2 year old and it was a perfect fall getaway! It was truly more beautiful than the pictures. The gorgeous decor is absolutely breathtaking! Each room is designed with such taste and it is such an elegant cottage yet is so comfortable and cozy!. The soaring celings, stunning decor and the beautiful fireplace made it difficult to leave the cottage! The views of the lake from every room were amazing and the outdoor space was fabulous.Thank you to Christy and Vij for being such an absolute pleasure to deal with. We will absolutely be back for a future stay!

This was a fabulous cottage for a family reunion! It was even more beautiful than seen in the pictures. Everyone loved the gorgeous decor, the cleanliness and the beautiful lake. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, canoeing, watching movies, gourmet meals, long walks, trips to Lakefield and Peterborough, stargazing at night, roasting marshmallows......Thank you to Christy and Vij for being wonderful hosts and for sharing their small corner of paradise.

What a beautiful " vacation home"!! We wondered if this house was as great as the pictures portrayed on the web and what a delight when we pulled in July 3rd. We picked the hottest week and the air conditioned home proved to be a "God-send". We were 10 adults, three children and everyone was happy! Our biggest concern was the swimming availability for our grandchildren. With "water shoes" it was great- clear, warm, clean water. Our four year old gran-daughter " Sarah" stood with a fishing net and caught fish as they swam around her. The "fisherman" in the group caught large mouth bass off the dock and we enjoyed fish chowderduring the week! We had our own motor boat and the kids and adults enjoyed tubing all week. The lake was so seren and quiet all week long it was like we had our own private lake. The neighbors next door were an immense help from assisting us with the boat " in and out " of the lake to all kinds of information about depth, where to go, history of the lake, etc. The house itself was warm and cozy, some of the family enjoyed the downstairs family room to watch movies- some the great room- enough sofas for all of us and we all enjoyed the deck and the fire pit with all the adirondack chairs. Thank you Christy and Vij for making our vacation with our entire family a most memorable week. We hope to return!!

Our whole family (2 adult children and their spouses, 4 grandchildren ages 6, 5, 4, and 1) and 2 grandparents spent a glorious weekend at this beautiful cottage in July 2010.. The pictures really do not do it justice. It is a very well designed home which has been furnished and decorated with exceptional style and taste. The outside area is very nicely landscaped and the comfortable patio with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows was a big hit with all generations. The waterfront is very kid friendly and kept all the older children busy collecting shells, etc. Water shoes are recommended. The water was comfortably warm and very clear with no weeds. The cottage comes with a canoe and a kayak. Our 6 year old grandson became quite proficient at paddling the stable, 10 ft Kayak in the immediate area. Truly a wonderful, family cottage with helpful and pleasant owners. This was an excellent experience. Thank you Christy and Vij.

My wife and I spent a week at this magnificent cottage for our honeymoon last summer and it was absolutely perfect! The pictures and description, although beautiful, do not do it justice. It's an absolute must! From the second you drive up to this welcoming paradise you will be speachless... and that's only the beginning. Once inside you will be blown away by the comfortable atmosphere, and cozy décor. It truely is IMPRESSIVE to say the least. We were able to get out on the water on a small boat and relax on the quite lake, utilize the massive kitchen, and just enjoy ourselves. Also, if you feel like you can pull yourself away from the cottage for a couple of hours, feel free to take a short drive into town and enjoy the small town enchantment, The cottage owners were completey helpful and offer a book of nearby attractions and events. They were also extremely pleasent to work with when making reservations.
