  We traveled with three generations (grandparents/parents/kids) looking for a beachfront place so we could all relax on the beach. The only access to the beach from this property involved going down four flights of stairs. Due to this, the grandparents were unable to join us (which resulted in the rest of the family only going down to the beach twice during the week as to not feel like we were abandoning them.) I exchanged several emails with the owner prior to reserving this property, asking about accessibility of the unit (number of stairs in the unit/first floor bedroom/etc.) It would have been very helpful if the 4 flights of stairs to the beach had been mentioned. While it is possible that everyone in Southern California “knows” about the cliff, we didn’t, and I think the pictures are deceptive (make it look like one story, not 4 stories). We also had issues with the unit lacking “starter” supplies. We spent two hours at the grocery store before arriving to buy food for the week. It was very frustrating to get there and there was no toilet paper, 4 empty Kleenex boxes, no dishwashing detergent, no paper towels, etc. It was ridiculous. I have stayed in many timeshares and vacation rentals and this was the worse in terms of starter supplies. The last thing we felt like doing the second we got there was to turn around and go buy toilet paper.

  Owner response: I have been renting this Magnificent Oceanfront townhouse in SeaBluff for 12 years. This is the first Review I have ever received that was less than steller. I strive in every way to make the Townhouse perfect and your experience perfect and memorable. I called the party about the review and got the husband on the phone. He said you must be mistaken it was not us that posted the review as we had a maarvelous time at your townhouse. I then went on to tell him what the review said and he did mention the steps to the beach. SeaBluff as all of Encinitas is on a Bluff with about 80 steps to the beach. I told this party this as I do everybody. I am dissappointed that she did not even mention this to me when I called to ask if she had enjoyed the townhouse. She also received an excellent rate for an oceanfront townhouse that is totally renovated at SeaBluff but apparently still was not satisfied. The townhouse is immaculate and state of the art and fully equipted. There was a time when I was not suppying paper products but have discontinued that and do supply all paper products to get you started including toilet paper and paper towels etc. I have one of the most elegant oceanfront townhouses available for rent at Seabluff. Please discount this review and know that if you rent my Oceanfront townhouse at Seabluff you will have the vacation of your life and love the townhouse as has all of my other guests.   Beautiful place loaded with every amenity. The view is absolutely beautiful. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean. It was fun watching the dolphins and surfers mingling together on the waves. We would stay there again.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

  We have stayed at this property several years in the past and enjoyed the huge deck with sunset Ocean views, and the great neighborhood of Sea Bluff with tennis courts, lots of grass, 2 pools etc...the unit has an awesome kitchen where cooking is a pleasure....HIGHLY RECOMMEND...and be sure to find Leucadia Donuts on your morning walk....

  We just returned from our spring vacation at this property and it was amazing. The pictures don't do the property justice. There were 6 of us in this 3 bedroom, 3 bath property and we all felt we had enough space and not on top of each other. The view every day was unbelieveable; we saw dolphins swimming by every morning and again every evening. You could hear the waves crashing against the shore from the patio, this is the therapy that does wonders for the soul. The place was well stocked with linens, towels and kitchen items. The place was extremely clean and it was so nice to have a full-sized washer and dryer, we didn't have to haul any dirty laundry back with us. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean in a place of comfort...this is it!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
