Casa de la Noche / The Old Bordello
SAVOR THE AMBIANCE OF OLD SAN MIGUEL AT CASA DE LA NOCHE
Madame Turca invites you to sleep at her historic San Miguel bordello, located in the Historic heart of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Central Mexico, Mexico.
Our house address is Organos 19 in Centro, a short 5 min walk to the Main Square or Jardín (view map).
Our history is colorful!: Locals remember Madam Turca’s Casa de la Noche for its fine dining and fine women, once both available for a nominal fee. Operated in the mid 20th century by La Turca, a big Turkish looking woman with large black hair that spiraled from her head, “Casa de la Turca” closed in the early 1960’s following many scandals.
Today, the old Bordello House, a beautiful remnant of the past and now called CASA DE LA NOCHE, provides a pleasant colonial space and rich atmosphere of friendship for your San Miguel experience.
DESCRIPTION OF HOUSE: A beautiful house with sleeping accommodation for groups or individuals (up to 26to 30 people), flexibly organized into clusters of rooms and suites. All accommodations have private baths, along with beautiful patios, fountains, gardens and terraces, and excellent views to the heart of San Miguel and surrounding mountains. The entire house can be used for family reunions, weddings or workshops. Occasionally there are Art Openings for local and visiting artists in the Bordello Galleria.
DESCRIPTION OF ROOMS and SUITES: The original Bordello has 4 cozy rooms, each with its own personality and named after the working girls (Chiquita, Pepita, Rosita and Jovita). Depending upon your preference, you can select matrimonial or queen accommodation. Many other rooms have king beds or 2 twins, and several have kitchenettes.
Each room has its own private bathroom and share common patio areas, with easy access to the rest of the house, a central dining area, living room, mini bar, and terraces with feature fountains and fine art.
The Bordello also has 3 larger bedroom suites (the Madam's Suite, the Terraza Suite and the Vista Suite) with their own bathrooms and nearby kitchenettes and common areas. Each Bordello suite can accommodate singles or couples comfortably. Additional rollaways may be added.
As well, we have 6 additional suites in our recently renovated expansion of the adjacent property, formerly the Madam's personal residence. All bedrooms in the suites have private bathrooms, nearby kitchenettes, plus shared use of common living, dining and garden areas. A full shared kitchen is also available by special arrangement. The two properties flow seamlessly together.
Please contact us for details on renting just one of our rooms, a suite, or reserving the property for your private group.

Beginning with the lovely and attentive artist/owner Barbara, Casa de la Noche was an absolutely ideal place for this newcomer to San MIguel...and has lots of return visitors as well. Whichever room you choose, you have complete access to the warm, comfortable environment of the whole house. The location is close enough to the Jardin to be an easy walk but far enough away to avoid those nights when the frequent fiestas, locals in a mood to party and other noise cannot be heard. Breakfasts are delicious and a good place to get to know other guests; the staff is always helpful and responsive to special needs. Barbara regularly displays the works of both local and visiting artists and is a fountain of helpful information about all things creative, cultural and the wide range of culinary treats within walking distance. Casa de la Noche would be an exceptional value at substantially higher prices, but offers each of its a wide choice of rooms at a very affordable price. My experience there was a major reason I plan to return to San MIguel this summer for a much longer stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: San Miguel has been Barbara Poole's home for 8 years. She acquired the original Bordello, owned and operated by Madame Turca, 7 years ago, and recently acquired the Madame's personal residence, right next door. After completing renovations, the two properties now flow seamlessly into one historic and charming property. Although you won't see any 'working girls' these days in Casa de la Noche, you can enjoy the patios and fountains where, not so long ago, they danced. Perhaps, if you listen hard enough, you'll hear echoes of their music and laughter.
Why the Owner Chose Centro Historico:
San Miguel captures many hearts right from your first visit; it captured mine. As an artist, I appreciate how the rich and serene environment of San Miguel inspires many forms of self expression, and love to share my piece of today's San Miguel, and its true history, with my guests in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Casa de la Noche is ideal for large groups, with family style breakfasts, common garden patios and multi-use living room and conference room. Yet individuals and couples also enjoy a memorable stay with a built-in social community if they so desire. Because of my personal appreciation for the arts and our San Miguel community, I host art, fund-raising events, and artist workshops in our gracious common areas.
