One of the finest built in Lubbock. In proportion is flawless, and in detail unsurpassed. In 1935, Dr. and Mrs. J.T. Krueger, who moved to Lubbock in 1919, commissioned S.B. Haynes and W.T. Strange, Architects, to design a mansion in the Greek revival style, and the results are truly remarkable. In 1992, H. Deane Pierce Associates and Pierce and Winn, Architects planned and oversaw a complete restoration.
Approaching the front of the majestic three story home, one is immediately reminded of the lovely 18th century mansions in Maryland and the Carolinas. Exquisite 22-foot columns are crowned with Corinthian capitals decorated with stylized acanthus leaves. The carefully balanced symmetry of the entrance is completed by two beveled and leaded oval windows.
