Love, Love, Love this house! We'll definitely be returning here!

We loved this house and it's location. The house is GORGEOUS and has many rustic charms, but with the updated amenities we all desire. We loved that we could sit on the porch and watch the horses roam about and the view is beautiful. If you're looking for a true paradise away from the stresses of the daily world, this is it! (Just don't book our week! :-) )
Owner response:James, What a nice review, thank you so much. Also, thanks for taking the time to document some potential problems. They're being attended to as I write this. I continue to be surprised by the kindness of the people who stay here.

Female First Cousin Reunion - a blast!

If you desire a respite from the demands of everyday life; if you seek rest, and recuperation from your busy schedule; if you have a hankering to awaken to the sound of cows calling "good morning" and birds singing a cheerful tune especially for you; if you crave fresh air and the serenity of country walks, mountain views, and starlit nights, then this "cabin in the Blue Ridge" is for you. Our 1st annual Female First Cousin Reunion (FFCR) was a great success! The weekend was complete with an abundance of laughter, conversation, and storytelling. This spacious and comfortable cabin offered more than we expected, and was the perfect place for cousins to get reacquainted. We travelled from 3 states (Virginia, North Carolina & South Carolina) converging on the cabin for a terrific weekend. And of course the weekend wouldn't have been as memorable without our visit to the Dip Dog stand in Marion.
Owner response:Thanks for taking the time to communicate those kind words, and for already reserving again for next year - for three nights this time.

Labor Day

We had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend spent with friends and family at this cabin. The cabin was beautiful. Everyone that dropped by had nothing but wonderful things to say. I wish the bedrooms were finished in the basement, as it made for difficult planning as we had children to consider and the fact one bedroom had a window with no glass open to the den really made it challenging. With this said I can't wait until we can return in the future. We enjoyed every minute we were there. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Owner response:Becky, thanks for your review. The lower level is being completed as we speak. Recall that,in addition to the 13 people the main level and upper level sleep, this area is advertised as a bunk area that sleeps 10. The window on the main floor without glass that opens to the den area is a design feature included by yours truly which has had many fovorable comments. However, I think I can put glass there without sacrificing any asthetics yet offering the privacy you suggest.

What an awesome getaway spot. My husband & I with 4 other couples were looking for a place in the VA mountains to use as a "home base" for a ride weekend. This was just the spot! The roads and scenery around were spectacular. The only drawback for motorcycles is the driveway to the house. (You must be a seasoned rider to navigate the long rock driveway, remember your dirt bike skills.) Do not let this deter you from booking the house, though, it was great! We will have many good memories from this trip! Thanks so much for the hospitality.
Owner response:Thanks so much Janice, for your complimentary and well articulated candid response. The immediate area to www.cabinintheblueridge.com is indeed motorcycle heaven. The hills are so beautiful and the fact that so much of the land is National Forest, permits it to present a geograpy of pristine beauty found only in a few places east of the Mississippi. But along with all that beauty in them thar hills is them thar LONG driveways that go up 'em. If you're not used to 'em they can make you stop and scratch your head before ascending. But as you found out it can be done and you all did it regularly. Congratulations. With four wheel vehicles of course this is not a problem. But as the result of your comments I have contacted a landscape architect to discuss what can be done to make it easier for motorcycles. Thanks again. Sherman

We have stayed at several other rental homes/villas over the years and I would put this amazing log home in its incredibly serine, natural setting at the top of the list among the best of the best. It’s difficult to describe in words, but we will definitely be going back and will continue to refer all our family and friends that love nature and are in need of some quite, peaceful rejuvenation!
Owner response:Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a meaningful review.
