Our home is best described as artistic and eclectic. OIt was built in a traditional villa style a 100 years ago. The rental property is on the ground floor and the bedrooms, kitchen and half bath are in the original house.
The living room, dining area and master suite belong to the new addition. The newly built section is constructed with natural materials and clay walls. The house opens up to a warm mustard yellow living room with Balinese furniture and Turkish pillows. The Living area is open to the dining area which has full light with it's glass roof and light wood paneled walls. The master suite has clay walls and pear wood floors, with a built in four poster bed.
There is a full bath with a tub and rain shower, just off of the Master suite. This room opens up into the garden and is decorated with Asian and African fabrics. The entire house is furnished with art and Tiffany lamps. The 2 sleeping rooms in back have cork flooring and were recently renovated. The larger bedroom has a view of the garden. The garden has an infrared sauna and a wood burning hot tub just off of the master suite. The Garden also has a large patio with Moroccan patio furniture and a covered sitting area in front of the open Wood burning fireplace.
You don't need a car to travel. We are less than 10 minutes from the central train station. Trains and buses depart regularly for ski destinations with 45 minutes. The airport is just 15 minutes away.
The house also comes with 2 adorable cats who also love the outdoors.

Year Purchased: 2006
My husband and I just completed the renovation and addition to our 100 year old Swiss home. We've lived here for the past 6 years and love that we're living adjacent the forest and are within a few minutes walking to the old town. I'm an artist and my husbands a health therapist. When we first moved here the landscape reminded me of California, however I also discovered the thrill of extreme seasons. The colors here are so incredible. There's nothing like spring!
Why the Owner Chose Zurich
Winterthur is a great city for art which is why I live here, but also is a fantastic bicycle city. In the mornings we Nordic walk in the Eschenberg forest, bike along the Toss river or just stroll through the Roman streets of town. In the Winter it's just a 30 minute drive to the starry snowy mountains.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We have a wonderful infrared Sauna (bio-sauna) in our intimate garden next to a cedar wood burning hot tub which fits 4-6. There's a beautiful patio with a built in BBQ. Our home also has Master suite with a fireplace and large flat screen TV.
