Suitable for a brief vacation or a stay of several months, this unit has been designed for your comfort. On the 17th floor of the Royal Garden at Waikiki, you will have an open, airy and serene view of the Ala Wai canal, mountains and even a bit of ocean. And, you won't see any neighbors from your private 17 ft long lanai. While not part of the hotel, you may enjoy many of the hotel amenities including, sumptuous lobby, 24-hour manned security, swimming pool, fitness center, laundry rooms and the warm "aloha" of a very friendly staff. You will feel at home from the moment you arrive. The Royal Garden is a "boutique hotel" on a quiet street--Ft DeRussy side of Waikiki.

Walk to the beach, restaurants, shops, major hotels and all the excitement of Waikiki without the crowds. Bus nearby to downtown, Convention Center, Ala Moana Shopping center, etc. No need for a car but parking is available in the hotel's garage. The hotel's rooms are on the lower floors while the privately owned units, such as this one, are larger and on higher floors with lovely views. This spotless studio has been FULLY renovated with porcelain tile floors throughout, cherry wood cabinets, an expanded kitchen area and all new furniture. Suitable for 1 or 2 people, the unit has a queen bed, comfortable leather sofa (with 2 ottomans for resting after a full day of fun) and a "bistro" table and chairs. The newly-designed kitchen area has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, 2-burner portable cooktop, coffee maker and rice cooker. Linens, dishes, utensils and cookware provided. The 17 ft long lanai overlooks the Ala Wai canal--perfect for watching canoe races. Some ocean view too! High floor with wonderful breezes but also has A/C if you prefer. Cable TV and utilities included. Sorry, no pets and absolutely no smoking in unit. Minimum age is 25 for primary guest.

Remodel was completed on November 3rd (when last of furnishings were delivered!). Special introductory rate of $75/night for November 3rd through December 8th. Perfect for a Thanksgiving get-a-way. Monthly rentals also available.

Year Purchased: 2005

Aloha, we are Margaret and John Sheehan, the owners of this darling studio. We have been residents of Hawaii for about 11 years having spent much of our lives on the East Coast (NYC). We have been involved in Hawaii real estate (as investors and sales agents) for almost 20 years and appreciate the never-ending beauties of our adopted state.

Why the Owner Chose Royal Garden

We bought this condo unit in 2005 when the then hotel owner offered a few for sale. [The hotel portion has since been sold to Wyndam Resorts.] We chose this unit because it is an end unit with private lanai and wonderful view. We have rented it--sometimes short-term and sometimes long-term continuously since that time. This October, we helped our tenant find another home and completely renovated the unit. Lots of hard work but well worth it as the inside now matches the fabulous location. We are now ready to welcome new guests who we are sure will enjoy the comfortable surroundings.

The Unique Benefits of this Condominium

If you are planning a trip to Waikiki, you will find a stay in this studio to be convenient, comfortable and a great bargain. First, be assured that you are right in Waikiki and can walk to all. A short (5 to 10 minutes) stroll through Ft. DeRussy park will bring you to a particularly lovely and generally uncrowded portion of the Waikiki beaches. In the evening, take a walk on famed Kalakaua Ave to see the musical performances at the Royal Hawaiian shopping center, buy souvenirs in the International Market Place, have drinks at the Mai Tai bar or Duke's--both practically on the sand!--and browse countless shops. Then, come "home" to the peace and quiet of the Royal Garden at Waikiki. We bought this unit knowing it offered the "best of both worlds"--excitement and convenience without noise and crowds. You may have read that some of the hotel rooms are in need of a "makeover" and we understand that Wyndam, the hotel owner, is planning such soon. Our unit has been completed redone and is sparklingly clean and outfitted for a comfortable stay. The expanded kitchen area means that you can save $$$ by having some of your meals and snacks "at home" while putting your feet up. There are so many restaurants of virtually ALL price categories within walking distance that we hope you will enjoy but it is still nice to have the luxury of eating in comfort and privacy some of the time. In addition, the 17 ft long lanai and wonderful view (day or night) will give you an open and airy feel during those times you choose to simply relax.

    • Aloha, since this is a new listing, likely no guest comments yet. but we have stayed here ourselves--most recently for about 6 weeks--and really enjoyed the location as we didn't have to drive to enjoy ourselves. Lovely people and the peace & quiet was a big plus. Now that it is completely renovated, I'm sure we will want to stay in it again soon.
