Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2004

We are 3 sisters that have grown up in the Los Angeles area. As kids, we frequented the mountains and have fond memories of snowplay, log fires, hot cocoa and skiing. And when our parents passed away, we found ourselves wanting to invest in something that THEY would've invested in for their family. So, we chose the close mountain area of Big Bear Lake, and named our cabin the "Sisterz Getaway" - in honor of our parents who afforded us this great place.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

You can enjoy playing games, having fine dinners outside, skiing or boarding during the winters or boating on the lake in the summer.

Perfect Christmas!

Guest: Las Vegas Girlz (Las Vegas, NV)
Date of Stay: 12/23/11 Review Submitted: 01/04/12

Our family of 5 stayed at this cabin for the Christmas holiday, and it was perfect! Being from Las Vegas, we dont see much snow, so giving the girls a white Xmas this year was perfect. The beds were cozy, there was a great selection of movies, and a DVD player for redbox movies! The girls has a great time playing with all of the board games available and the fire made for some cozy nights/mornings! It was close to everything, and Bonnie was more then flexible and accommodating with the entire process. We strongly suggest anyone with a family staying here! Thank you again!

Owner response:I sure wish I had control over the weather, but I'm glad it turned out to be a white vacation for you and the girls! Thank you for such a glowing review and we hope to see you again! Happy New Year!

Last minute getaway to Halloween at Octoberfest

Guest: Ed (Inglewood, ca)
Date of Stay: 10/28/11 Review Submitted: 11/05/11

This was a last minute trip we planned. I made the arrangements thru one of the owners which was extremely helpful and forthcoming about details. The cabin was very inviting and the living room was a great meeting area the fire place was very cozy. All together the cabin was a good choice for our little get away. The location of this cabin is very close to the Octoberfest venue making easy to go back and forth.

Owner response:It was truly a pleasure making this booking for you, Edgar! It was a smooth transition, and you were so nice to deal with. We're happy you had a great time and we hope to hear from you soon.

Girl Scout Getaway

Guest: Laura (los angeles,ca)
Date of Stay: 06/25/11 Review Submitted: 06/29/11

We rented the cabin for our yearend Girl Scout trip. We had 5 teenage girls and 2 adults and had plenty of sleeping room. The girls were not sure what they where going to do when they found out that we did not have any TV, but they watched movies, played board games and had fun telling stories and alot of giggling. We went horseback riding, we went Zipling at Action Zipling, shopping at the Thrift Stores and the Village, we went to the movies, bowling and we went to Funzone. The cabin was close to all of the things we wanted to do. This is our last year since all of our girls will be bridging, so it was nice to have this great getaway.

Not just for "Sisterz!"

Guest: Bubba (Los Angeles, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/10/11 Review Submitted: 06/14/11

This place provided one of the most pleasurable and relaxing experiences I've ever had in big bear. All email communication was fast, clear, and super welcoming/friendly. The owners were very informative and helpful with anything and everything we asked for...which is not as common as it should be! The place has new carpet which was a big plus. Downstairs is very roomy and is bigger than the pictures suggest. We had 8 guys there and it was comfortable for all of us. The upstairs has 2 rooms with a total of 4 beds which were all comfortably spaced. The kitchen is very well equipped with tons of pots and pans to use if you're planning on cooking. The bbq in the back worked great on our NY Steaks and Hamburgers that we grilled up. The patio on the back was perfect for coffee in the morning, or a nice cold beer in the afternoon. Lastly, the location is great if you have anyone interested in visiting a park. It's walking distance to a softball field, basketball court, and I think tennis courts too! I've stayed in about a dozen different cabins. Most were decent, but this is the first cabin that I want to return to next year. It's not marble floors, jacuzzi's, and infinity swimming pools, but if you're looking for a great and cozy place for a week or weekend in big bear, then this is the place!

Owner response:Wow! You have described the cabin better than WE did! Thank you so much, Troy - for the kind words and for the business. We're sure to see you again, and look forward to it.

Fun Weekend At The Sisters Get Away

Guest: Diana (Long Beach,CA, USA)
Date of Stay: 03/25/11 Review Submitted: 04/08/11

I set up a weekend trip for myself my teenage sons, their friends and a group from church. We had 8 people. I was worried it would not be big enough or private for a group of people not related. It was perfect. The loft is private and much bigger than it looks. There is room to put down air mattress if some one does not want to share a bed. The skylights in the bedrooms give a nice touch to this spacious cabin. The washer and dryer are a big plus when kids come in with wet cloths. The owners are easy to get in contact with and fast return on the deposit check.

Owner response:Thank you so much, Diana! We appreciate the great review. We are glad it worked out well for all of you. We hope to hear from you again.

Fun Times

Guest: hoppybeer (San Diego)
Date of Stay: 02/11/11 Review Submitted: 02/17/11

My family and I had a fun time staying in the "sisters getaway" cabin. We really enjoyed the fenced yard and park at the end of the street. The cabin had plenty of towels and blankets, and the sleeping arrangements were great. The owners were very accommodating and reachable. The skiing and village were only six miles away. If you have small children, bring a baby-gate for the spiral staircase.

Great getaway weekend

Guest: John (Agoura, CA)
Date of Stay: 01/27/11 Review Submitted: 02/03/11

We were looking for a quick skiing getaway, to celebrate our sons 16th birthday, and were pleased with our stay at your cabin. It was an easy drive to and from Snow Summit, and we were able to enjoy a lovely home cooked meal while relaxing by the fireplace in the quiet neighborhood. Our son thought gazing at the stars through the skylight over his bed was cool. Thanks for the great weekend.

Owner response:We are thrilled that your son celebrated the right way - with skiing, stars and snow!! Come again any time!

So much fun!

Guest: davis' (los angeles,ca)
Date of Stay: 11/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/13/11

We spent four wonderful days at your little get-a-way Thanksgiving weekend. It was snowing on the way up but oh so beautiful when we arrived. The kids had a blast sledding and making snowmen while I cooked a full on meal and was not in need of anything that was not available in your kitchen. Love the movies for viewing and the cozy fireplace although we spent alot of time on the back patio watchng the giant squirrels during the day and the stars at night. Thanks so much!
