Charming Manhattan Apartments with 2beds, Elevator, East 75th
Year Purchased: 2009
Why the Owner Chose Upper East Side
I actually moved to this neighborhood a year ago, originally thinking it was too far east but I just love the quaintness of the area. Tree lined sidewalk streets with everything I need right here - cafes, restaurants, shops, diners, bagel place, dunkin donuts, starbucks, supermarkent.....I love being near the water, the East River is just 2 blocks away and the John Jay park is great for kids of all ages - there are tennis courts and basketball and handball courts open to the public.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
What's great about this area is that everything you need is right here, in a quaint tree lined NYC real neighborhood yet you are an easy walk or subway ride to any major NYC attraction. Great being out all day and then coming home to a nice quiet home where you can relax.

My husband recently had surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital that was to include a 2-night stay - ended up being over 3 weeks! The first week and a half I shuttled between pricey hotels as they filled up and I finally got smart and looked at VRBO to see if there was an apartment that I could rent. Well, I got sooo lucky and found Sue. She not only rented me the apartment but even found a garage nearby that was reasonable and close by. The apartment had been reserved by another couple after several days, so Sue arranged for me to move into an apartment several doors down and I stayed there until we could finally go home. Again, she was more than helpful with the transition and that was also a lovely apartment. Both were a reasonable walk to the hospital (about 8 blocks) and coming home each night I'd stroll down 1st Avenue and either stop at one of the many restaurants or pick up something to take "home" for dinner. Sue had given me several very fine recommendations - plus this apartment comes with a notebook filled with information about the neighborhood (which by the way, I found very safe and comfortable to walk in, even in the evenings). I would definitely recommend this apartment or any that Sue owns, she is a delight to deal with and her rentals are just as pictured, comfortable and immaculate.

Sue's 75th St apt was perfect for our needs. I had knee surgery nearby and needed to stay in the neighborhood for two weeks. The apartment was clean, fully equipped, comfortable, wonderful street view, a/c, everything you could need for a stay in NYC. Highly recommended A++++ Sue's response time to issues was immediate, and I would recommend this apartment without reservations.

From the moment I inquired about the property availability, Susie was so helpful and professional that she did her BEST to accomodate my special request. I am so thankful for her every effort to make my stay comfortable and memorable. The property description was accurate, too. She mailed out a list of places nearby the property before our departure for New York, which was very helpful. I appreciate her prompt reply and seasoned recommendations for NY experiences. I felt like I was a New Yorker in her property neighborhood for five days while I walked to Agata and Valentina, Starbucks and deli stores. The place is cozy and quiet. I will miss living there. Again thank you Susie!

My week long stay in this clean, neat apartment was very nice! The bed was comfortable and having three rooms to spread out in was great. The location was perfect for me, as I was trying to find something close to my daughter's apartment also on the UES. Good restaurants and markets and bodegas close by make it feel like you're home in NYC.

My husband and I stayed in this clean, comfortable, conveniently located apartment for 12 days last May and returned for a week at the end of February 2011. That speaks for itself. The reason why I chose this apartment and will keep coming back is, above all, Sue Bradley. She was immediatley responsive from my first inquiry to my last request and was able to accommodate our special requests in a professional but extremely friendly manner. The information and photos on the VRBO website is all true. In fact, we enjoy the space and the kitchen facilities, and wifi too. I actually watched TV once, for the Oscars, and it's great. Even though the focus of our visits is seeing our daughter and granddaughter the location is such that it allowed us to walk to enjoy a museum or shop on 5th Ave when we had a free hour. We used public transportation exclusively except for going to and from JFK by taxi. The neighborhood is super safe and offers all sorts of solutions easy and pleasurable apartment living. A D'Agostino was on our way back from the subway and Agata and Valentina, on 1st Ave. and 79th St. supplied us with excellent prepared food when we needed it. A special mention for the wash and fold laundry located next door. They are fast, professional and do a great job. In short, we'll be back.
Owner response:Hi Jill thanks so much for your lovely review, and it's always a pleasure to rent to you. I really like what I do so the responsiveness is natural. I really want my Guests to enjoy everything about their stay. Look forward to your next visit! Sue

We stayed for 3 weeks during December. Apartment was warm, clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It is in a good location, very easy to get to metro station and this line takes you to all the main sites of New York. If you enjoy walking, it is easy to walk to central park. Sue is very helpful and replies promptly to any requests. You will hear some noise from others which is to be expected in an apartment but it is surprisingly quiet, so no problems in getting good sleep. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Would definitely recommend staying here instead of a hotel.

We had a great time in this charming apartment. The pictures are very representative of the actual property. The place was very clean, kitchen well-stocked with the basics, warm water in a modern up-to-date bathroom, very comfortable living room, and cozy bedroom. We had a lot of fun having a more "neighborhood" experience, while still being convenient to midtown/Times Square since the subway was in close proximity. Favorite places to eat nearby: Gotham Pizza, which is now our all time favorite pizza, and Beannochio which has such a warm, charming environment with great pastries, coffee, and bagels. And Sue was very helpful and responsive.

I recently stayed at the apartment for a week while in NYC for the marathon. The apartment is excellent. Plenty of space, well appointed, very clean, and loads of fresh towels. Everything you need is close by, from a supermarket, to a Starbucks, to a bank, to a laundry, and Gotham Pizza is just a block away. I will definitely be back!

Sue has provided a charming, clean and crisp place to nest while in NYC. Everything that you could need is there for you. I was even able to make a few "home-cooked meals" for my NYC college student while visiting. The exposed brick adds ambience to this cute and functional apartment. We will definitely be back to stay with Sue when we are in the city again. MJH
