Loved NYC the Apartment!

Sue, I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what a fabulous time we had in New York City! Thank you so much for the rental of your very nice East Side Apartment! We loved the neighbor and met so many nice people while visiting the wonderful little Oslo coffee shop every morning, and the other shops and stores on our way to the Metro or the Met or wherever we happened to be walking for the day. The size of the apartment was perfect and everything was so very clean. Thanks for letting the 4 of us Suburban Moms pretend to be New Yorkers for a few days! We had the opportunity to pass along your rental company name SB-Lodgings to several locals who asked how we ended up staying in the area, and said they had friends of relatives coming to visit! We hope to be back again someday ourselves. Sincerely, 4 Tennis Suburban Moms

Home away from home

Guest: Sillyoldbear (Hyde Park, NY USA)
Date of Stay: 05/26/11 Review Submitted: 07/06/11

My husband recently had surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital that was to include a 2-night stay - ended up being over 3 weeks! The first week and a half I shuttled between pricey hotels as they filled up and I finally got smart and looked at VRBO to see if there was an apartment that I could rent. Well, I got sooo lucky and found Sue. She not only rented me the apartment but even found a garage nearby that was reasonable and close by. The apartment had been reserved by another couple after several days, so Sue arranged for me to move into an apartment several doors down and I stayed there until we could finally go home. Again, she was more than helpful with the transition and that was also a lovely apartment. Both were a reasonable walk to the hospital (about 8 blocks) and coming home each night I'd stroll down 1st Avenue and either stop at one of the many restaurants or pick up something to take "home" for dinner. Sue had given me several very fine recommendations - plus this apartment comes with a notebook filled with information about the neighborhood (which by the way, I found very safe and comfortable to walk in, even in the evenings). I would definitely recommend this apartment or any that Sue owns, she is a delight to deal with and her rentals are just as pictured, comfortable and immaculate.

Wonderful stay and great property

Sue's 75th St apt was perfect for our needs. I had knee surgery nearby and needed to stay in the neighborhood for two weeks. The apartment was clean, fully equipped, comfortable, wonderful street view, a/c, everything you could need for a stay in NYC. Highly recommended A++++ Sue's response time to issues was immediate, and I would recommend this apartment without reservations.

From the moment I inquired about the property availability, Susie was so helpful and professional that she did her BEST to accomodate my special request. I am so thankful for her every effort to make my stay comfortable and memorable. The property description was accurate, too. She mailed out a list of places nearby the property before our departure for New York, which was very helpful. I appreciate her prompt reply and seasoned recommendations for NY experiences. I felt like I was a New Yorker in her property neighborhood for five days while I walked to Agata and Valentina, Starbucks and deli stores. The place is cozy and quiet. I will miss living there. Again thank you Susie!

My week long stay in this clean, neat apartment was very nice! The bed was comfortable and having three rooms to spread out in was great. The location was perfect for me, as I was trying to find something close to my daughter's apartment also on the UES. Good restaurants and markets and bodegas close by make it feel like you're home in NYC.

Second time and will be back

Guest: jdfp (Milan, Italy)
Date of Stay: 02/24/11 Review Submitted: 03/08/11

My husband and I stayed in this clean, comfortable, conveniently located apartment for 12 days last May and returned for a week at the end of February 2011. That speaks for itself. The reason why I chose this apartment and will keep coming back is, above all, Sue Bradley. She was immediatley responsive from my first inquiry to my last request and was able to accommodate our special requests in a professional but extremely friendly manner. The information and photos on the VRBO website is all true. In fact, we enjoy the space and the kitchen facilities, and wifi too. I actually watched TV once, for the Oscars, and it's great. Even though the focus of our visits is seeing our daughter and granddaughter the location is such that it allowed us to walk to enjoy a museum or shop on 5th Ave when we had a free hour. We used public transportation exclusively except for going to and from JFK by taxi. The neighborhood is super safe and offers all sorts of solutions easy and pleasurable apartment living. A D'Agostino was on our way back from the subway and Agata and Valentina, on 1st Ave. and 79th St. supplied us with excellent prepared food when we needed it. A special mention for the wash and fold laundry located next door. They are fast, professional and do a great job. In short, we'll be back.

Owner response:Hi Jill thanks so much for your lovely review, and it's always a pleasure to rent to you. I really like what I do so the responsiveness is natural. I really want my Guests to enjoy everything about their stay. Look forward to your next visit! Sue

We stayed for 3 weeks during December. Apartment was warm, clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It is in a good location, very easy to get to metro station and this line takes you to all the main sites of New York. If you enjoy walking, it is easy to walk to central park. Sue is very helpful and replies promptly to any requests. You will hear some noise from others which is to be expected in an apartment but it is surprisingly quiet, so no problems in getting good sleep. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Would definitely recommend staying here instead of a hotel.

Great UES Experience

Guest: May (SF, CA)
Date of Stay: 11/18/10 Review Submitted: 12/07/10

We had a great time in this charming apartment. The pictures are very representative of the actual property. The place was very clean, kitchen well-stocked with the basics, warm water in a modern up-to-date bathroom, very comfortable living room, and cozy bedroom. We had a lot of fun having a more "neighborhood" experience, while still being convenient to midtown/Times Square since the subway was in close proximity. Favorite places to eat nearby: Gotham Pizza, which is now our all time favorite pizza, and Beannochio which has such a warm, charming environment with great pastries, coffee, and bagels. And Sue was very helpful and responsive.

Sue has provided a charming, clean and crisp place to nest while in NYC. Everything that you could need is there for you. I was even able to make a few "home-cooked meals" for my NYC college student while visiting. The exposed brick adds ambience to this cute and functional apartment. We will definitely be back to stay with Sue when we are in the city again. MJH

I recently stayed at the apartment for a week while in NYC for the marathon. The apartment is excellent. Plenty of space, well appointed, very clean, and loads of fresh towels. Everything you need is close by, from a supermarket, to a Starbucks, to a bank, to a laundry, and Gotham Pizza is just a block away. I will definitely be back!

Excellent Place to Stay

Guest: Marie (Sacramento, California)
Date of Stay: 09/20/10 Review Submitted: 10/04/10

This is a great place to stay. Just perfect for my partner and I. We just got back from staying 8 nights on our first trip to NYC. The subway, coffee places, and just about any type of resturant or grocery store are all within a short walking distance. At all times, we felt safe and staying here really makes you feel like a local. If you are not used to apartment noise, you'll definately want to bring ear plugs. Sue was very accomodating and made us feel welcome. Thank you Sue for an early check-in and late check-out. We would definately recommend the massage place just below the apartment - it was the best massages we've ever had - and coming from a massage therapist, says a lot. The only recommendation is if you want your feet rubbed, tell them up front, or you'll have to pay extra. The price is already low, paying extra for your feet is worth it!

Owner response:Thanks for you review Marie and I checked into the noise you heard upstairs. The resident upstairs was away during your stay and had his young college nephew from Italy visiting......who apparently likes to stay up late and walk around. He's gone and not to return anytime soon. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Sue

UES Neighborhood Retreat

Date of Stay: 08/03/10 Review Submitted: 08/14/10

Sue Bradley is very professional and goes the extra mile to extend NYC hospitality. This apartment is very clean and comfortable for a stay in NYC. Having a large kitchen table to work at your PC (wireless worked great) and a comfortable sofa to relax in were much appreciated. There are a number of parking lots, stores and restaurants in close proximity. Goodies from Agata and Valentina (specialty grocer at 1st and 79th) make the visit memorable. We definitely will be calling Sue before our next visit!

Loved the vibe of the UES (Upper East Side) and this apt too !

Guest: Mark and Robin (Fort Worth, Texas)
Date of Stay: 07/21/10 Review Submitted: 08/11/10

After years of staying in NYC mid town hotels, my wife and I (a couple of 50 somethings from Texas) spent 2 weeks at this apartment in July/Aug 2010. The apt is as advertised, clean, free wireless and cable TV, very comfortable bed and "spacious" in that there are 3 small rooms plus the bath. We felt like we were in an episode of "Friends".Bedroom is dark and quiet. Air conditioning is fabulous (and we always turned it off if while we were out). The subway is a few blocks away, but learn to use the busses too. We got on at 1st Ave at the end of our block and went to Harlem (no transfers) and ate at Sylvia's for soul food. It dropped us right in front. We got on the bus on York at the other end of our block and went to Carnegie Hall and theatre district in minutes.(no transfers) After that we got brave and rode to LaGuardia with only one transfer all for $2 each ! In other words by mastering public transit you can get anywhere in minutes from here. Cabs are available on York and 1st Ave. in seconds all the time. We went to the beach at Long Beach from Penn Station (one hour from apt to beach), went to the Catskills and Saratoga Race Course ( a couple of hours from Penn Station and you are in the mountains) and of course went to shows and every neighborhood of NYC. It was always a DELIGHT to return to our quiet neigborhood in the UES. You are about 3 short blocks from a linear park along the East River for morning or evening walks with the locals. We would walk down the river to lovely Carl Shurtz Park, home of Gracie Mansion right in our neighborhood. It seemed like the New Yorkers didn't know about it. The area all around the apartment is filled with every kind of restaurant, diner, cleaners, shop , food imaginable within 2 blocks. The Banshee Pub a block away on 1st Ave was our classy neighborhood pub and we we made great friends with the Irish bartender. There is a self or full service laundrymat right next door to the apartment which we used a couple of times. This isn't the Waldorf...it's just a great neighborhood NYC experience. Sue is awesome too.

Great neighborhood and fairly convenient to public transportation

Guest: Larry and Jacqui (Scottsdale, AZ)

We were a family of four adults. Apartment is great for 2, a little crowded for 4, but all worked out with schedules for activities of daily living (ADL's). Shower had lots of hot water. Enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants. Great bagel store on York, about a block from apt. Subway is about a 10-15 minute walk. Thanks Sue for responding to our concerns promptly.

First of all, Sue Bradley was absolutely wonderful!!! Professional, accommodating, and helpful. I cannot say enough about the ease of dealing with her. We had a last minute change of plans, an addition of my 19 year old son to our group, and when we notified Sue she was able to lend us an air mattress which accommodated him perfectly. The apartment is very clean, very comfortable, and very versatile. We enjoyed our trip very much! I have kept Sue's information for all of my future trips to Manhattan.

My daughter and I just got home after a 2 week stay in this great apartment! We used to live in NY and were visiting family... I will never stay with relatives or in a hotel in NYC again!! Susan was such an easy person to work with. She was always available if we had any questions and she checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable... We are thrilled we found her and her apartments! The street and building were great, very safe, and the apartment was adorable! It was clean, cozy and had everything you needed to call it home. The apartment also had free US/Canada calling (perfect for a 16 year old girl!) and wireless access...Location was only 5 blocks to subway(on the 6 train you are 5 minutes to Times Square and 15 to Union Square), only 6 blocks to Central Park, Starbucks is a half a block away, there are 3 24 hour diners within 3 blocks... There is a great little massage place at the base of the apartment (great prices and massages!) There is even a wash and fold pick up and delivery service on the same block! Like I said, there is nothing that wasn't available from here. The only bad thing about sending this review is that it might be harder for us to get booked in next time :( Thanks again Susan for everything! We look forward to seeing you again soon, Lisa Wood
