This property is a traditional Irish bungalow that has been extended and modernized while retaining original thick stone walls. Ideal location for a countryside retreat, but within easy reach of Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, Killarney, Dingle, Cork and Limerick.
This property is ideal if you are looking to escape the rat race for a while. It can be found deep in the Irish countryside of North Kerry. A traditional Irish bungalow with thick stone walls has been renovated to a high standard with all modern facilities. There is under floor heating throughout and a peat burner in the lounge for extra coziness in the evening. The kitchen is a spacious farmhouse style with all the equipment you might find in your own home.
There is one double en-suite bedroom, all the other bedrooms have a basin. The main bathroom has a walk-in shower and whirlpool bath. For rainy days in Ireland, there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The house will sleep up to ten people in a combination of adults and children; there is a travel cot and high chair for young children. Downstairs, the green room is double en-suite, the lilac room is twin, the brown room is double. As well as the downstairs rooms, the red room upstairs is a double and there is also a snug room for children. The bed here will pull out to sleep two children very cozily. In this room there is a small TV with DVD and video player so they can watch appropriate films. There is also a box of toys and a bookcase of books - kindly donated by my nephews. There is also a box with body boards and beach games which guests are welcome to use.
There is access to the garden through patio doors in the lounge. The patio extends the full length of the house and is a real sun trap on sunny days. There is garden furniture and sunshades and a gas barbecue. For late lazy evenings, there are patio lights. A pretty stone well is a feature of the garden. This is a real well where the residents used to pull their daily supply. It is covered for safety reasons.

Year Purchased: 2004
The owner is a self-employed businesswoman, born and still living in Shropshire, England. A visit to Dublin in 2002 got me hooked on Ireland, even though there is Dublin and the rest of Ireland. While still based in UK, I try to visit Kerry at least once a month.
Why the Owner Chose Listowel
This area is more peaceful than the regular tourist areas of Killarney, Dingle and Kenmare. However, the location still allows day trips out to these places and is also convenient for Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and around Limerick.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
For family occasions, such as weddings and christenings, this property is ideal for accomodating out-of-town visitors in a home-from-home environment. For holidays, the usual tourist sites/sights can be visited while escaping back to tranquility at the end of the day.

We had an awesome weekend in your wonderful bungalow. Plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen and main bathroom were fabulous. We didn't want to come home. It was so easy to book and there was even apple pie and soda bread waiting for us on our arrival. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much.
