Keywords:  Cabin

Just minutes from Bryson City and Cherokee, North Carolina and in the heart of the mountains, just one mile from the Great Smokey Mountain National Park and Cherokee National Forest. Nestled in the trees overlooking Cooper Creek.

A large deck the length of the cabin runs alongside Cooper Creek, and the large deck has a new 4-heater propane BBQ grill which is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying your evening on one of the four rocking chairs listening to the Creek.

One mile up the winding road toward the Great Smokey National Park is a trout pond, which abuts a little used entrance to the National Park on a trail up into the mountains. Along this little used trail is a waterfall (and bears) if you go to the left.

A few miles away is the Natahala River where the US Olympic team trains. Spend hours rafting an actual rain forest! The shimmering Nantahala River offers whitewater rafting through mild but exciting rapids. Nantahala rafting features eight miles of practice on easy Class II rapids before splashing through the exciting Class III whitewater of Nantahala Falls. This is one of America’s most popular whitewater runs, so expect to see other paddlers playing in the waves. So relax for awhile ....... or ....... Really test your limits. Nantahala has a little of the outdoors for everyone.

Great Smokey Mountain Train Ride runs through Bryson City and Dillsboro. The scenery was in the movie, The Fugitive. The trains also becomes Thomas the Train in July. There is also a train museum in Bryson City.

The freshly painted cabin itself is a private retreat offering a more tranquil and peaceful creek side getaway location while still retaining every amenity: Cool and comfortable ceiling fan in each room. Easily sleeps 6 people. Queen and full bed and 1 sofa sleeper, and telephone. Barbecue, picnic table, porch and rocking chairs. The kitchen is completely renovated with full refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave and utensils. There is also a 42-inch new TV with DVD player. A dehumidifier so the cabin air is fresh and never to damp from the abutting creek. There is also an outside shower on the deck to enjoy the view.

There are heaters along the walls for wintertime. There is a Franklin Wood Stove that is for heating, not cooking. There is one bathroom. There is a 14,000 BTU air conditioner to keep the cabin cool in summertime, if the creek proves insufficient.

THINGS TO DO AND SEE:

Great Smoky Mountain National Park: Just the drive from Pigeon Forge to Cherokee is breathtaking but there is so much to explore in this park. Cades Cove is a wonderful trip back into time, same with Mingus Mill. For waterfall lovers, take the short hike to Laurel Falls. It's relatively easy hike but it does get busy. Clingmans Dome is a must! The sights are beautiful, pictures can't do it justice. Best park in the world in my opinion.

Cooper Creek Trout Farm: just show up. They supply everything, and the trout taste great, and the place is scenic and beautiful with horse trails in the back part, which abuts the National Forest.

Why the Owner Chose Bryson City

The creek is why we bought. The creek is a BOLD creek and not a trickling creek. The sound of the creek sends you away and secludes you. I relax there better than anywhere else I've been. If I could make money in Bryson City, I would live there and not rent it.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

The most unique feature by far is Cooper Creek. The soothing sound of gives the lush mountainous surround the proper energy and tranquility that everyone dreams about but few actually get to or achieve.

Super relaxing

Guest: Bish (Los Angeles, CA)
Date of Stay: 09/21/11 Review Submitted: 10/30/11

This was one of the most relaxing weekends I've had in a long time. The cabin is a little off the beaten path, just outside of Bryson City--which is actually really nice, because it's about a 5 minute walk before you're inside the Smoky Mountain National Park. But the best part about this place is that it's right next to the creek--at night, all you hear is the gurgling of the creek in the background. It's awesome. That made it for me. We had a great weekend just sitting on the deck, hiking and reading. There's a great television--we didn't care much about that, but it's nice on a rainy day. It's an old cabin with a great porch, but all of the kitchen and bathroom seems to be newly remodeled. It's not a super modern space--no jacuzzi or anything, but that's what we wanted. You also need a car to get into Bryson City, but that seems to be the case with most of the cabins in the area. I would go here again for sure.

Owner response:I am glad you had a good time. Please come again.

My wife and I stayed at this cabin and will never forget how charming and restful it was. The very full sounds of the classic rocky creek that flows right by the cabin are wonderful to sleep or rest by. The cabin is perfect for an invigorating and restful retreat. I would recommend it to anyone as an unforgettable bargain. .

Owner response:Thank you for and please come again.

Cozy and Quiet

A few friends and I decided to visit the mountains for the weekend for some rafting and relaxation. We fell in love with this house the second we arrived. We could not get over how cute and cozy it was and how we felt so comfortable there. I just loved everything about the house and couldn't picture it being any better. We especially enjoyed eating all of our meals on the deck overlooking the creek. I definitly plan to return in the fall when its a little bit cooler and the four of us plan on visiting this house on a regular basis for a wonderful getaway. Definately recommend!!!!

Owner response:Even though I am the owner, your thoughts about the cabin reflect my own.

Peace and Quiet !!!

Guest: Mike & Mandi (Rincon,Ga)
Date of Stay: 07/23/10 Review Submitted: 07/26/10

A long winding road into the hills takes you to this cabin away from all the city noise. Travel a little less than 2 miles further down the winding road and you can fish in the trout pond for a whole dollar-fifty !! The cabin was very clean with a full amenity kitchen. The best part was falling asleep with the mountain air blowing through the windows and listening to the creek out the back bedroom. Located in the center of everything !!! Great find for the price. Be prepared, you cell phone/internet has no signal here, but you're on vacation ! Liked to kill my teenage daughter, but she survived.

Owner response:I have fished for trout there many times. In fact, you can go past the trout farm and there is an entrance into the National Forest with trails and a waterfall that is a great hike for the family. Glad you had a good time.

We vacation frequently in this area, and this is by far our favorite place to stay. We've rented this cabin several times over the years, and love it. The setting is beautiful, and the sounds of the creek are like rain on the roof, very relaxing. There are many fancier (and more expensive!) cabins available, but they lack the cozy mountain feel of this cabin. We would live here if we could! The location is also perfect for us, as we love the flee markets along the river, the little mountain towns with their unique shops, and beautiful scenery no matter what direction you go in.

Owner response:I am so glad you had a great time. Please come again.

Can't wait to stay here again!

My husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary at this cozy little home. If quiet and secluded is what you are looking for this is it. We slept in the back bedroom with the window open so we could hear the lulling sound of the rushing creek and smell the cool, crisp mountain air. Best sleep I have had in months, maybe even years! My husband was able to fish right off the deck while I sat nearby reading under the canopy of trees that hovered above the deck providing a constant cool shade. Just a very short walk on the dirt road past this home is a most beautiful waterfall right by the roadside. Everything was provided for a comforatble stay but if you are into entertainment you will need bring along your own source of activities. We could not get any television channels to come in and there was no DVD player for movies. There was a portable stereo in the kitchen but we never could get it to pick up but one station and our cell phones had no service as well. This is not really a complaint but just for future renter info so that you may be better prepared. We actually enjoyed the primitiveness and was able to spend more quality time together because of this added privacy of being unavailble and unaware of the rest of the world ;)

Owner response:This tenant was kind enough to notify me that the BBQ and the DVD player are no longere there. I am having both replaced this week. The satellite dish was blocked due to tree growth adjacent to the cabin, and this was fixed today.
