The Elephant house is an eco-friendly two-story gambrel oasis nestled in the heart of the Berkshires - the perfect location for 4 seasons of adventure and solitude.
At the end of a no-thru dirt road, it provides privacy, yet convenience to various popular attractions.
Newly renovated, its charm boasts bamboo floors, granite counters, new fixtures and lighting, fresh paint and linens providing elegance with comfort. The deck is new with landscaping, stonework, and solar lighting. Most eminent is the hammock 'neath the pines, and the sunroom encased hot tub.
Follow the groomed path to a semi-private beach where you can relax with a book, swim, kayak (provided), skate, or ice fish.
Downhill or cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, shopping, snowmobiling, arts and entertainment, ATVing, and antiquing are all nearby and within easy reach.
At the end of each day, you can chose to eat out at any of the fine diverse restaurants, or dine in utilizing the grill on the patio, the outdoor stone fireplace, or the fully equipped kitchen (which includes several basic staples and herbs from the garden) and dining room. Nap in the hammock or unwind in the hot tub. Watch a movie, play a board game, or snuggle by the glass-front stove.
We welcome supervised children, and will consider well-behaved pets. But of course no smoking.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
$150/day (175 w/pets) .. $1000/week (1200 w/pets).. $3000/mo (3500 w/pets).
In addition to the rental fee, a $150 deposit is required to reserve your stay
which will be refunded to you after completion of satisfactory
post stay inspection.
If you cancel your reservation in less than 1 week of your
scheduled arrival date, the deposit becomes nonrefundable.

Our family has dreamed for years of finding a charming house to fix up. Our daughters found this home & we knew it was "the" one. We've enjoyed adventures & relaxing times away from our busy lives & demanding farm. Now we are pleased to be able to share it.

If you are looking for a cozy getaway that's very private, you've found the place! The elephant house was a great choice for us. Just the right amount of room and privacy. The hammock was a great place to relax and read. The location was great! Close to the Lee Premium Outlets and Great Barrington. Rates are MORE than reasonable for this area. We will definitely be staying again! Thanks!

We enjoyed this charming, private cottage. We went inbetween seasons, but summer and fall must be spectacular.Clean,homey and cozy... Greeat getaway...
