Welcome to Le Chevalier Gris, a stylish and well-equipped gîte for up to six people in picturesque Noyers-sur-Serein, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
Noyers is a wonderful place to enjoy a holiday and explore all that Burgundy has to offer. This delightful medieval village, almost encircled by the sleepy Serein river, is a member of the exclusive Les Plus Beaux Villages des France.
The cobbled streets of the village centre offer a range of amenities, including an excellent boulangerie, two convenience stores and two restaurants — all just a couple of minutes walk away. Chablis, where you can sample the region's world-famous wine and gastronomy, is only a 20km drive.
Among many other nearby places worth visiting are the chateaux of Tanlay, Ancy le Franc and Bazoches, the medieval cities of Auxerre and Tonnerre, the prehistoric caves at Arcy and the UNESCO world heritage site at Vézelay.
Slightly further afield are the tranquil lakes and forests of the Morvan hills and the famous wine regions of Beaune and Sancerre. All can be enjoyed on day trips, and Paris is easily accessible by TGV from nearby Montbard.
The surrounding Yonne countryside is perfect for enjoying many outdoor activities, such as walking, cycling, horse-riding and boat trips.
The accommodation comprises:
Ground floor:
• Fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen, with oven, hob, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.
• Living room, with TV (including some English channels), DVD player and CD player. There is a range of DVDs, books and games for you to enjoy.
• Dining area with six-seater dining table, wine rack and telephone.
• WC and hand basin.
First floor:
• Bedroom 1 with double bed.
• Bedroom 2 with double bed.
• Bedroom 3 with 1 or 2 single beds (1 is a slideaway bed).
• Bathroom with bath/shower over and WC.
Outside: Off-street parking, and, in the enclosed lawned garden, there are a table and chairs and a barbecue.
Equipment: Towels and linen included. The house is cleaned weekly. Other equipment includes an iron and ironing board, a cot, and a high chair if required.

Positive Rating
We travelled from Sydney, Australia for a three week stay in Noyers and found it very hard to leave. The house is immaculate and very tastefully renovated. It really did feel like a home away from home. It is well equipped for children and has a delightful back garden, with a lovely view over an orchard and fields. It's the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a glass of local wine. The medieval village is just stunning and the local restaurant, Les Millesimes is highly recommended. The house is also well located to explore the sights of Burgundy, Chablis, Vezelay and Avallon are well worth seeing. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it for the perfect family holiday.
