This new lakefront home is conveniently located 6 miles north of Watkins Glen in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country. Completed in 2009, this traditional timber frame home is perched on a bluff overlooking Seneca Lake. There is a short downhill walk to the beach where you will find picnic tables, a canoe, kayak, and a sailboat. Feel free to bring your own boat or watercraft; there are several nearby launch ramps. The 90 feet of beautiful lakefront has two docks, a lakefront grill, a fire ring, and is a perfect place to relax under the large willow or enjoy the lake.

The lake house is fully insulated and has a beautiful propane gas stove in the great room. Above and behind the house are two parking areas that can easily accommodate 4 cars. My wife and I along with two other young couples stayed here recently for a weekend getaway. The property was perfect for our group size with three nice bedrooms. The location was ideal within a 10 minute drive to all of our favorite FL wineries. The owners were very welcoming and easy to work with. We will definitely try to rent this house again. Thanks Tim and Beth.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Willow Point was beautiful. The owners were great. I would recommend this property to anyone. (I already have) There was everything you need at the home. Again, it was very beautiful there. It was so nice waking up & having coffee on the deck. We went to a few wineries, but really enjoyed sitting on the deck. We all want to stay there again. I have to get the date of the Watkins Glen race in August. Coudn't get the calendar to work. We would like to reserve it for August 11th till the 14th. Please let me know if it is available. Happy New Year Tim & Beth.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: We just updated the calendar for 2011 and will be in touch shortly about your next visit!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: In 2004, we were lucky enough to find this beautiful lakefront property for sale - just the land. We spent the next several years designing and building our lake house ourselves. From starting with the Douglas fir timber frame through finishing with walnut and pine that we cut ourselves, the home is a craftsman's dream. Our hope is to welcome guest renters for several (but not all) weekends throughout the year to our home to enjoy the house, the lake, and the beautiful surroundings.
Why the Owner Chose Burdett:
We've been living in the Finger Lakes region for over 20 years. Owning lakefront property was a dream of ours since we arrived in Ithaca. We specifically chose the east side of Seneca Lake because it is in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country, fine dining, and close to Watkins Glen.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This home exudes comfort. The open layout offers serene lake views from every window. The 100 feet of lake front are delightful. You can sit on the dock and watch the sun set to the west - directly across the lake. There is a spectacular willow tree on the beach offering shade during the hottest days of summer.
