Villa Marbella was charming and very well maintained. The villa is perfectly situated to view the arriving and departing cruise ships. Just a short drive to key beaches and the restaurants and shopping in Charlotte Amalie. The loft suite had more than enough room for a two week stay and the pool was beautiful and a refreshing break from long days at the beach. Our hostess provided clean towels as needed and made sure that the complimentary coffee was always replenished. The air conditioning and fans always ensured that the room was the correct temp. Our hostess provided great tips to enhance our vacation experience and even hosted a cook out for Super Bowl Sunday. She was available as needed but never intrusive. The covered veranda was really great for having a romantic cocktail and watching the suset. Be advised that a car rental is strongly advised. Understand that there is a spiral staircase to the bedroom loft. I would not recommend this unit for physically challenged or elderly folks who have mobility issues. We are 50/60 and had no issues. We loved the beaches and spent alot of time at Coki and Megan's Bay. Get the cruise ship schedule and work around the crowds. We loved Cuzzin's and Gladys' Restaurants in Charlotte Amalie as well as Craig and Sally's in the Frenchtown district for Tapas. Mim's was just down the road for a romantic ocean side dinner. Mountain Top has re-opened and the view is spectacular. We also enjoyed Paradise Point for a creat view of Charlotte Amalie. I took a chance and brought my portable Garmin GPS unit. It worked perfectly with turn by turn directions to most places. We had some reservations after reading negative stories about Saint Thomas on the Web. Our experience was all positive. All the people we encountered were friendly, polite, respectful and cared deeply about the perception of their home. I can't say enough about the people of St Thomas. Never once did we feel uncomfortable. As with any travel, use your head and you will have a great time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed at the Villa Marbella Suites, in the Frenchman's Bay suite, to attend a friends wedding and celebrate our 15th anniversary. Upon arrival we were greeted with exceptional hospitality that included a welcome gift (bottle of rum). The welcome gift came in handy since we arrived in the middle of several days of rain associated with a tropical cyclone in the area. The rooms in the suite were exceptionally clean, comfortable and well stocked. Included in the rooms were everything you would need for an outing to the beach, including beach chairs, beach towels, and rolling cooler. The room had a very cozy porch overlooking the pool. The pool had a great view of Frenchman's Bay and was a great location to unwind at the end of the day and watch the cruise ships leaving at night. The owner, Leah, was extremely helpful and provided great tips on where to eat and visit. She also went out of her way to help my wife and I celebrate our anniversary with a complementary bottle of champagne. The location is a little off the beaten path, which was great to get away from the crowds, but I would highly recommend having a rental car when staying here. I would highly recommend the Villa Marbella Suites, especially the Frenchman's Bay suite, and hope to stay there again myself.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My name is Leah Latour. It has been a dream of mine for many years to move to the US Virgin Islands. I waited until my youngest son graduated high school before making the big move. We have been coming to the Virgin Islands since 1986 and fell in love with it the day we arrived. It is so beautiful and has so many things to offer which I love telling other people about. We have a beautiful spot here and love sharing it with others.
Why the Owner Chose Frenchman's Bay:
We bought in Frenchman's Bay because it is so close to everything yet in a quiet neighborhood. So you can come back here after a long day and relax and not be bothered with large groups if you don't want to.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We have one of the most spectacular views and we get to watch the cruise ships come in each morning and see them set sail for their next destination every afternoon. It really is a treat. We have a lot of privacy and have a private porch for additional relaxation. Along with relaxing in the pool.
