The Old Tannery is located in the picturesque village of Littlebourne near Canterbury, and is right by the river. The building dates back to the 17th Century when it was used for tanning leather. The building was fully renovated and equipped in 2005 to 5 star standard. All of the bedrooms have the original beams exposed.
There is a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and changing room, an ensuite double bedroom and a twin....sleeping 6 in total. All of the beds are King size and comfortable. There is also a landing bathroom. On request a cot/crib can be provided.
Downstairs there is a large fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and a large sitting room that looks our through French windows to a courtyard and further on to the river.
A welcome pack is provided for basic food & drink requirements, and if requested the local supermarket can deliver supplies before you arrive.
London is an hour away, and the Port of Dover and Channel Tunnel are within half an hour for easy access to France. By road London Heathrow is an hour and a half and London Gatwick an hour.
For things to do there is Howletts Zoo Park just round the corner, Castles such as Dover and Leeds Castles, the historic city of Canterbury with its Anglican cathedral & St Augustine's Abbey, sandy beaches, and a good selection of places to eat.
The property is managed by the owners Mark & Rosie Mount, who will welcome you and provide all the advice you need for a successful stay in what is known as the Garden of England. (Please note that they have other self catering properties so please visit their Canterbury Country Houses website.)
