Beautiful house with expansive views of Intracoastal Waterway and marsh. Quick access to private beach via golf cart (included with rental). House has a calmness and serenity to it. Be at one with nature while enjoying great creature comforts. Watch the stunning sunsets from the decks and porches. Ospreys, wood storks, ibis and many other birds can be seen feeding and playing in the marsh.
First floor includes a sitting room, screened porches, a bedroom with 2 twin beds, a second master bedroom with a queen-sized bed, as well as laundry facilities. There’s a pull-out couch that can sleep 2 plus a cushioned area under the stairs that can be an extra sleeping area. The upstairs includes a kitchen with a breakfast nook, a great room with a vaulted ceiling and gorgeous wooden beams, eat-in kitchen and dining porch. Enjoy an expansive view of the Intracoastal Waterway from the upstairs deck off the great room. The master bedroom with spa-like master shower has a queen-sized bed. There’s a full bed upstairs. Built on pilings, the house has an elevator for you and your things.
Dewees is a unique community combining back-to-nature opportunities, like body surfing, walks on the private beach, fishing, crabbing and kayaking with community amenities; pool, nature center, tennis courts, exercise facility, and art shows at the community building. Dolphins are frequently seen on the 20-minute passenger ferry ride to the island. You can park your car at the private Dewees Marina on the Island of Palms.
Rental includes 2 golf cart. Ferry rides cost $16/round trip/person.
$100/dog pet fee.

"Dewees offers a detox from the intoxicating blur and buzz of real life. Instead of looking at the computer screen, I stare out from the screened porch tucked off the kitchen, some 90 feet above ground in this lovely treehouse, right at osprey nest level. We had an outstanding time staying at this property on Dewees Island. It's a natural paradise not to be missed. The place was clean and convenient. The rental agents, Reggie and Judy Fairchild, were extremely responsive and made our stay a notch above.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We greet you at the ferry, assist with luggage, connect you with the turtle team activities, and help you plan your vacation. Judy is a certified South Carolina Master Naturalist and photographer who lives on the island with her family in the summer (and every other minute she can!) She will be on the island while you are there and will help you get started enjoying the beauty of the island right away. Emily takes care of the paperwork and calendars, and makes sure things go smoothly on the Mount Pleasant side.
Why Dewees Island:
The owners built this house as a labor of love in 2004. Great jobs keep them away most of the time. Dewees Island offers incredible private beaches, great fishing, birding as well as kayaking, tennis, an inviting community pool. We love everything about Dewees. It's a great back to nature experience with all the comforts of a great house and community. It's within easy access of Charleston if you want to enjoy the dinning, history or cultural events.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The beach is very private. You might run into one or two people, instead of hundreds. It's a short golf cart ride from the house (5 minutes). The house has amazing views of the marsh and the Intracoastal Waterway. There's great birding right from the back deck or screened in porch. We see beautiful sunsets. We love using golf carts to get around the island. We like to go crabbing and shrimping as well as fishing.
