Year Purchased: 1993
Tara is from London and Stuart is from New York City. We have been married for many years and we share many interests such as native plants and herbs, organic gardening, green living, solar energy and holistic massage. These pursuits are reflected in the off the grid estate we are listing, which has been our labor of love. Tara has 20 years of extensive experience in various types of body therapies and is certified in therapeutic massage, Aroma Therapy, Shamanic Stone therapy, Rosen Method body work and Rosen Movement.
Why the Owner Chose Ukiah
Our rural setting is a special place, which can also serve visitors. Local property owners strive to function in harmony with the natural environment. Many native plants have been used for landscaping and natural materials have been used for buildings. We care about preserving the pristine quality of the land and the peace and tranquility of the neighborhood.
The Unique Benefits of this Estate House
The local wildlife is astounding. We often have deer that come right onto the lawn and families of river otters who visit our lake-pond. We have a variety of bedrooms, two fireplaces and a comfy den. Our enormous kitchen has a Wolf stove with two ovens and a substantial island with a butcher block top that is the envy of cooking enthusiasts. There is also a sunny massage room and a sleeping porch. Both are easily converted to suit whatever need may arise. We are in a remote location, yet we are 40 minutes closer to the town of Mendocino than if we were in the town of Ukiah. Local activities range from hiking, bird watching, stargazing, swimming and hot springs, to name just a few.
