The ground floor nature of the apartment makes it ideal for families as the communal pool is only 15 meters away. Access is suitable for old and young alike. Golf course and beach all within easy walk as are a handful of restaurants and Marriott Spa.
Resort Shop is 5 minutes walk as are tennis courts.
Golf: Praia Del Rey's reputation does not disappoint It has spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlenga Island beyond. The 18 hole par 72 Championship course was designed by Cabell B Robinson and is rated 13th Best Course in Continental Europe by Golf World. There are excellent practice facilities and lessons are available.The resort one Golf resort of the Year in 2007.
The views from the terrace at the clubhouse are breathtaking as the overlook the course and the Atlantic beyond. The clubhouse is within 15 minutes walk and has a lively bar and restaurant with varied and excellent menu.
Coast and Beach : The beach is 20 minutes walk away (5 minutes drive with ample parking). It offers true Atlantic rugged beauty . The surf and swell is strong so it is advised if you have children head for Baleal or Obidos Lagoon both 15 minutes by car where things are a little calmer.
If surfing is your thing their is a vibrant surf scene at Baleal where you can hire kit as well as get some lessons . All the nearby beaches hosted the Rip Curl Grand Prix in the Summer of 2009 bringing the worlds top 40 surfers to the area.
Surrounding Area: Supermarkets are within 15 minutes drive at Obidos and Peniche albeit there is a resort shop within 5 minutes walk which has daily fresh bread and essentials.
There is also a kids club offering mountain biking, canoeing, and surfing lessons etc at the clubhouse.
Marriott Hotel is 20 min walk away with full Spa and Gym facilities which are available on a pay to use basis.
The historic walled town of Obidos is nearby and well worth a visit. If you are brave enough walk the walls because the views are great.
Peniche also nearby and is famed for it's fishing industry and restaurants.
Driving is generally well sign posted and pretty relaxed - there are plenty of unspoiled villages and beaches to explore.
Lisbon is only an hour away and is full of stunning architecture and maritime history.
