Why the Owner Chose Dillard
My family has owned this property for many years, After the land was given to me as a gift from my father I decided I wanted to share the gift with others that I thought would love to vacation in the mountains. It's a great town to come to for a relaxing vacation with a lot of activities year round that include shopping, great restaurants, site seeing, waterfalls, hiking trails, antiques and much more. Black Rock Mountain State Park is only 6 Miles away.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I have always enjoyed the friendly people who often are out walking for exercise or walking their pets. They always speak or wave when they walk past my retreat as I am sitting on my covered deck enjoying the mountain view and a fresh brewed cup of coffee. I some times wake to the smell of the Dillard House Country ham aroma.

There could not be a better vacation spot in the mountains. Whether you want to rest and relax, or enjoy rafting, fishing and other adventures, this is the perfect spot. The mountain views are beautiful and the location is adjacent to the famous Dillard House. This NEW house is very open and roomy and the front porch is a great place to enjoy the mountain breezes .l will definitely come back to Dillard and would love to stay here again.

Four of us "girls" just got home after spending an entire week at this beautiful A-Frame in Dillard, Georgia, located right next door to The Dillard House and Motel. We had a wonderful visit and since this was such a prime location to go out to all the surrounding areas, it made our trip to the mountains even better. We spent each day on an all day trip in a different direction each day. We will definitely be back to stay at this location! Everything was great!!

I stayed in early June with my husband and four children. We arrived late (Atlanta traffic-yuk!) while it was dark. We woke to an amazing mountain view and horses grazing just across the road. The girls really liked the horses. When we could tear them away, we walked to the town of Dillard and checked out the shops. We resisted the Dillard House breakfast smells but, judging from the parking lot, we were about the only ones. Our first day was spent horse-back riding and exploring Black Rock Mountain. Two days were spent at Tallulah Falls. After working out daily for another year, I might be able to hike the gorge but this year, we stuck to the top and the stairs. Taken slowly, even an out of shape person can climb to see amazing views. Clayton is a nice town to wander about if your teenagers have had it with scenery and need to buy something. We found a bookstore with a very fat and friendly cat. They also sold fancy chocolate you can buy to try to fatten up an annoyingly slim family members. The in-laws bought us delicious seafood buffets at the Dillard House on Friday. The salmon was a work of art. This is a great location with a peaceful farm atmosphere, close hiking, but plenty of places to eat and shop too.

Booked it at the last minute and it was an extremely pleasant surprise. The house is practically brand new and has everything you could possibly want. Mary was great to work with and very accommodating. I had a fishing class up on one of the local rivers and this place was very convenient and close. My daughter also graduated from Rabun Gap/Nagoochee School so I can definitely recommend it for parents who are visiting their kids. The School is within 1 minute of the house.

We booked this wonderful house at the last minute and were very pleased with it. We had never booked using vrbo.com so we were not sure how it really worked, but Mary and Debbie were very helpful and made every detail as easy as possible. The house was clean and had a nice open floor plan. There is lots of room and the house is close to everything. We did "day-trips" while we were there and it was so nice to come back to this house and be able to stretch out and relax every evening. The fireworks show was awesome, Dillard House was wonderful. We saw beautiful waterfalls, went shopping, took train trip from Bryson City to Dillsboro, traveled to Cherokee for "Unto These Hills", but it was so nice to be able to come back to the house and just relax! We look forward to coming back soon and will recommend this house to all our friends! Thanks so much! The only suggestion we have would be to maybe add a hot tub for guests to enjoy in the evenings!

My friends and I were looking for a cabin close to an event held in May in Mountain City, GA. We were looking for somewhere close and something large enough to accommodate 8 friends. This cabin exceeded our expectations!! All the rooms were clean and spacious. All fully furnished with everything we needed. Bonus: Saturday morning, cup a coffee in hand, stepped out on the porch and was greeted by the sight of horse grazing 15 yards away. While exploring we stumbled onto the Dillard house for Breakfast. It was literally a 5 min walk. Although a little pricy for breakfast the quality and quantity of food was fantastic. Of course the biggest bonus to this cabin was Mary. She was incredibly helpful from beginning to end. Her knowledge of the area was priceless.

We had so much fun. The house is in the BEST location. We also enjoyed having our own BBQ in the spacious backyard. The huge bathtub was great to relax in after our long day of rafting. I've stayed all over North Ga., but this was by far the nicest place I've been to. We will be back for our family reunion! Thanks! Heidi
