We offer a unique and friendly home to travelers interested in experiencing the beautiful Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, California. Whether you are a first time visitor to the Anderson Valley or already familiar with the pleasures of Navarro, Philo and Boonville you will find no better place to stay than our warm and relaxing lodging amid the majestic redwoods.
We are located on a quiet street above Highway 128 just a few miles from where the Navarro river meets the Pacific Ocean. We are a world away from the stress and noise of the city but also just a two and half hour drive from San Francisco.
The guest house is a unique historical building, a tastefully restored grand home built for the owner of the local sawmill during the logging boom in the early years of the twentieth century. Today it is an inviting and comfortable home base for visitors to enjoy a weekend getaway amidst the tranquility and the scenic beauty of the Anderson Valley. On cooler nights you can enjoy a roaring fire in the large living room and on warm evenings you can sit out on the deck and enjoy the stars. We are well located for visitors wishing to explore both the Anderson valley and the rugged beauty of the Mendocino coast. There is plenty of hiking nearby, unspoiled beaches and redwood groves. As well as the natural delights of the Anderson Valley the area is also famous for its vineyards and microbrews.

Why the Owner Chose Philo
It is a beautifully restored early 1900's home in a delightful sunny location among the fantastic Coastal Redwood trees. The home is situated conveniently between the orchards and vineyards of the Anderson Valley and the rugged scenic Mendocino Coastline. The Navarro River is great for swimming in the summer months, and beach-combing on the Pacific Ocean is just 20 minutes away. We used to camp and vacation here, and decided it would be an ideal location to buy a home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There are restaurants and stores to visit in nearby Boonville, Philo and Yorkville. The Anderson Valley Brewing company in Boonville is home to the celebrated Boont Amber and IPA. We are ideally situated for visiting the tasting rooms of some renowned wineries including Navarro Vineyards, Breggo Cellars, Claudia Springs, Handley Cellars, Roederer Estate and Scharffenberger Cellars.
