The condo was beautiful, we loved the location!!! We would love to make this a yearly stay at this unit!!!we ate at wolf bay lodge, tacky jacks,mello mushrooms, ribs & reds loved every one of them!! We had a wonderful time we've been coming to gulf shores for the past 5 yrs. our first time staying at the lighthouse it is our favorite by far, loved the pool area!!!! The owners were great to work with super nice!!

This was our 3rd time to stay at the LighthouseCouch. The other two condos were great. We like to try different condos for the views and different decor. We have a lot of suggestions for the owners: The couch is nasty and worn out and so are the throw pillows, TV's Very old in master room (tube) and though we did not have our son with us he would have been disappointed with same (tube) telvision in "kids" media room- didn't bother us since we did not need. No hair dryer, no hangers in closet- (for when you pack and want to hang up when you get to condo you've rented). Terrible bed room pillows and cheap plastic balcony furniture. Now, the price was very reasonable. The pictures look the same- except you don't see the worn couch up close and personal. The calendar is booked but don't say you were not warned.

I work very hard and have a wonderful team that helps me keep my unit fresh, clean, and up to date in all areas. If I have fallen down, I greatly appologize ... With that said and per your thoughts ... I have replaced the ( 2 ) Analog TV's with New Flat Screens and have attached them to the walls The couch / furniture is replace every two years. I have a team review the property and the furnishings every six weeks. We have added more Hangers in the clossets ( these always seem to get taken home with guests We have added new and exciting furniture on the deck We have replaced the pillows in the bedrooms and these are also changed out every few months We do not offer a hair dryer as most guest bring these with them I am truely sorry that you did not have a nice time .. the unit was clean and spacious. great layout. the sliding glass doors to bedroom and living room from the balcony was the most impressive feature.

We had a great experience staying at the Lighthouse. The condo was perfect - the view amazing!!! The location was great being the first room off of the elevator; very convenient. We were within walking distance to Sea N Suds and even ordered carryout and had lunch on the beach one day. The condo was very clean and just right for our family of 4. Greg was great - even allowed us to check in early so that we could prepare for a wedding we were attending at Orange Beach that same day. The food was amazing - we ate at Sea N Suds, The Original Oyster House, LuLu's, and The Hangout. These are all places you must add to your to-do list! LuLu's and The Hangout are a must if you have children of any ages. We can't wait to come back next year - a perfect vacation!

We stayed in this unit after Hurricane Isaac decided to make his way into the gulf. I can not express how GREAT the communication was with the owner of the unit ! He was always prompt to return my calls if he didn't answer when I called, and kept me up to date on the conditions @ the property ! The unit was perfect for our family and our children had a blast :) We absoulutely recommend booking this unit and we look forward to visiting again !

We enjoyed the condo and the beautiful view. The pools are great. We love having the indoor pool as well as 2 outdoor pools. The condo was nice and clean. You can't beat Gulf Shores AL.

This was our first trip to Gulf Shores and being the skeptic that I am, I researched everything thoroughly. When we arrived at this condo, it was far beyond what I had expected. The VIEW was worth every penny. Very clean, everything you need for a week long stay (even though we only got to enjoy it for one night because we had somewhere else booked for the other 4 nights), easy access to the pools, beach & the nightlife. Felt very secure with security gates, especially with a 12 year old. Thank you Greg for making the beginning of our vacation perfect & easy. We already have a date in mind for next year & this time it will be for a full week.

This was our first trip to Gulf Shores & when we arrived & seen this condo with the view of the ocean, we were in awe! The unit was very clean, fabulous view of the ocean, & everything you need for a stay at the beach with the comforts of home! We just walked to our room opened the door & that is it. No hassles, no problems! Loved the fact that there were 2 pools & just a few steps to the beautiful white sands of Gulf Shore beaches. Thank you so much Greg for making this so easy for us & your unit made our visit all the more special! We WILL be back next year & will also recommend this unit to everyone we know!

This was my first time using VRBO and I was a little worried. I shouldn't have been. I owners were super nice and it was a great experience. My family and I had a wonderful time. The condo is clean and comfortable. The views from the balcony are beautiful and the facility was very nice, as well. (pools, hot tubs, gym, covered parking.) I will definately stay here again!!!! Great price !!!

We just returned from an amazing trip to Gulf Shores! We loved staying at this condo. It was just as described and much, much more! The location was great and very close to everything. The owner is very easy to work with and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. We have already recommended this condo to several family members looking to travel to the coast. We will definitely return to this condo again!

After 20 years of vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area, this vacation involved a couple of firsts for us. This was our first trip to Gulf Shores, AL and our first time using VRBO so we were a little nervous. Once we opened the door and saw the condo all of our fears were put to rest. The condo and the Lighthouse were as advertised. The pools, grounds and fitness areas were all clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room to spread out on the beaches. The gulf water was warm enough to enjoy, even in April. When we wanted to mix things up we spent the day going back and forth from the pool to the hot tub. The food was another treat. Most of the restaurants seemed to be local owned and operated. There is nothing worse than choosing between national franchises for dinner. I can do that at home. I ate shrimp nine different ways and all of them stood on their own. Another dozen places in Orange Beach are only a short drive down the beach.

Beginning with the owner, Greg - this was the best transaction and trip!!! He offered the very best customer service! Prompt, informative and his rental was just as promised if not better. The place was clean and offered ease during the whole stay. The Lighthouse was just great! Probably the very best feature was the gorgeous view of the ocean. We enjoyed our trip so much and only wish we'd stayed twice as long! I will plan on returning to this same place every year!!

Gorgeous View!

My husband and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon. After researching many different condos, we decided to stay here because it looked absolutely gorgeous! As it got closer to our stay, we were a little concerned about the oil spill affecting the beaches. Greg, the owner had always been pleasant each time we spoke. He let me know that he has been getting updates from the condo complex and guests of the conditions at the condo and they were all excellent. We decided to still go and were so glad we did. You would not have even known the oil spill had happened. The beaches were beautiful. Our condo was amazing. It had great, relaxing decor. The view was breathtaking! It was great to be able to see the Gulf every morning. The balcony is so roomy and we enjoyed reading and playing cards while listening to the sound of the water. The pools were great and never too crowded even in this hot weather! We even had champagne on the beach during sunset in honor of our honeymoon! The property was very clean. Dish soap and hand soap would be the only things that would be helpful to have, otherwise, we were pleased with everything! There are many great restaurants around. We really enjoyed Bahama Bob's and the Oyster House. The condo is so close to restaurants and stores. It was in the perfect location. We would definitely stay here again. Perfect location, beautiful condo, and Greg truly makes you feel comfortable and confident with the rental. I definitely recommend this condo for your next stay!

My husband and I vacationed with our 2 children ages 2 and 7. The unit was the perfect size for us. We were so comfortable and had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. The view was amazing . We REALLY enjoyed the zero entry pool for our litle one. The Lighthouse is in the perfect location for us. It is close enough to walk to many restaurants which we really liked. The whole Home Away experience was great too and the owner was very courteous too. I loved not having to stand in line to check in with a realtor. We are looking forward to coming back and recommend to anyone.

My husband, myself and our two year old twin daughters stayed here for five days last week. The owners were absolutely perfect to work with; I can not say one negative thing about them or their services. The condo was perfect, my husband and I actually slept on the sofa bed in the living room and it wasn’t bad. My daughters are too young/small to sleep in the bunk beds. Having two full bathrooms was so helpful. We ate lunch and sat on the balcony every evening/night, the view is perfect. I was surprised at how close the beach was to the condo and the pools were a blessing, especially after realizing my daughters wanted no part of the sand. There is a ton to do and eat in the area. We can’t wait to go back next summer.

A Little Piece of Paradise

This was our first trip back to Gulf Shores since 2001 when we stayed at the original Lighthouse. We loved the quaintness of the original Lighthouse but I have to say that the new Lighthouse is even better. Since I am not exceptionally computer savvy this was my first time renting online and I was somewhat skeptical. However, the condo was even prettier than the pictures I saw online. It was absolutely beautiful! It was decorated tastefully, very clean and so comfortable! We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck. We drank coffee and watched the sun come up in the mornings and enjoyed the spectacular view of the Gulf. I loved going to sleep at night listening to the surf. We ate at Bubba's, and the Original Oyster House twice - just can't get enough of that place! And we enjoyed going to the shops in the Bayou Village. We found a local bookstore (Just Books) that was great, got T-shirts for those back home at Surf Style, bought fresh shrimp at Boudreau's (sp?) and there are several grocery stores nearby. Also, although we did not participate, for those that enjoy water sports, this beach is ideal. Parking in the complex was never a problem - very convenient. I have told all my friends how great our vacation was. Everything was perfect and we have no complaints whatsoever. We look forward to going again next year!

My husband and I just spent a September vacation in this beautiful condo. It was very clean and convenient. We felt the location on the East Beach Boulevard made the beach not so crowded as some of the other areas. The balcony had a spectacular view of the ocean from the bedroom and the living room. We would highly recommend this condo.

My companion and I arrived at the Lighthouse in late April for a spring retreat to the beach and were so pleased with what we found! The unit couldn't have been more what we were looking for. It was clean, comfortable, airy, well decorated and had a spectacular view of the ocean. I especially loved the balcony that extended from the living room all the way to the bedroom. My friend is a massage therapist and we had more than enough room to put a massage table out on the balcony! I also loved waking up in the bedroom with the sliding doors wide open and the beach just outside our room. This was actually the feature that set this unit apart from many others in the area - many of the condos don't have balcony views from the master bedroom. Thankfully, the lighthouse does! I would highly recommend a visit. Greg and Vickie - thanks for making this a wonderful vacation spot! Everything we needed was here. I would recommend only a couple of things - consider purchasing a dish washing brush, dish soap and drying rack for the kitchen. The brush won't collect bacteria like a sponge might and these supplies would help those neat freaks like us keep the kitchen clean as we go! And thanks for the recommendation to Lulu's! We had a great time (and great drinks!).

The breathtaking view, great weather and easy access to everything made this a great condo for a week away. The guestbook offers great ideas for dining and activities (kept on the TV stand) and we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and got to talk to and meet many that were also vacationing there. It was absolutely fabulous. I can't imagine being able to replicate that view AND again, but we will have fun trying! We definitely plan on returning when we can. Tricia and Bill (March 22-29, 2008)
