My husband, myself and our 2 year old daughter stayed in the villa from October 4 - October 14 and it was great! The villa was clean, well maintained, spacious and we had everything we needed in terms of pots, pans, plates and cutlery. One of the deciding factors for us was the gate on the patio, which is an excellent feature, especially if you're staying in the villa with children. The other factor was the second bathroom with a bathtub for our daughter. I highly recommend renting a golf cart. It's nice to walk, however if you have kids or it's a really hot day, that walk can be very long! Especially if you're carrying groceries or water. Originally we rented the crib from the property management company but found it to be a bit rickety and not overly trust-worthy. The play pen/pack & play was much better, and we used that instead. We didn't travel around the island at all, but stuck to Jolly Harbour. We enjoyed the pool in the mornings and usually visited the quieter beaches in the afternoon. The staff at the pool were lovely and after a couple of days knew our daughter by name and always said good morning to her. We found Jolly Beach to be a little rough for our daughter, but that may have just been the time of year. The beach near the villa provides a great view for sunsets but you have to get there in time! Boy the sun sets fast in the Caribbean! We took a half-day yacht charter (4 hrs) on Jabberwocky, which was amazing and I would highly recommend it. Snacks and drinks were provided and Nick and Kaye were super-accomodating in terms of our daughter. My husband and I were even able to take turns snorkeling, which was something we really wanted to do. The boat is gorgeous and Nick & Kaye are very knowledgable about the island and even gave us a bit of a history lesson. Al Portos was great for dinner and we ate there a couple of times (Tuesdays are 2 for 1 pizza!), and we ate frequently at the Crow's Nest (the burger with pineapple on it is amazing!). The staff at both restaurants were very friendly and the service was great. We did not get to experience Castaways, which we had heard was a great restaurant, as it was closed for the season. I would highly recommend Sunrise Villa for just about anyone, but especially for people traveling with kids since the owners provide toys, games, movies etc for children.

Our 3-week stay in Villa 422D was Outstanding!
We have never experienced a more favourable climate than Antigua and were sad to leave both Antigua and the villa behind. The precise info provided by the HomeAway website gave only a glimpse into the delight that awaited us. Situated on the North Finger, the villa is a quiet retreat away from downtown Jolly Harbour, yet it is close enough when you want stores, restaurants, etc. We loved the villa, the north and south beaches, and the community. The folks at HBK were friendly and helpful. James' and Teresa's info packet is a useful tool for planning. We travelled to the many of the different treasures on the island visiting English Harbour area (Nelson’s Dockyard and Shirley Heights) as well as Half Moon Bay, Hell’s Gate, the Donkey Sanctuary and Devils’ Bridge to mention a few. Although we rented a car, taxis and buses are available. We have to mention the Eco Tour with Antiguan Adventures. Picked up from the docks of Jolly Harbour by a very personable crew on a power catamaran, we had an exceptionally pleasant daytrip which focused on the island's ecology and history. A short trip takes you to Ffryes Beach and Dennis’ restaurant where we shared dishes (try curried goat); we visited again our last evening to watch the sunset. We dined on local dishes at several restaurants including Castaways (South Beach). At Sunset House on Darkwood Beach, Carla served jerk chicken, goat stew and grilled fish that were superb! For North American/European foods, several restaurants are available. We didn’t just eat out; the villa’s kitchen is well-appointed so we dined at “home” usually starting with a glass of wine watching the sunset at North Beach, followed by the meal and a relaxing evening listening to the tree frogs while star gazing. No trip to Antigua is complete without experiencing local food purchased from the street vendors including jerk, pepper pot, bull’s foot soup and black pineapples. Visit the St. John`s market area; travelling there by local bus is a great way to meet Antiguans. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We shopped the large grocery stores as well as the small village stores. Lots of interesting shops are found around the St. Marys and High Street area; by the harbour you find the tourist area of the Quays. James and Teresa, thanks for everything; most of all for sharing this piece of paradise. We hope to return to the island and your villa!

Ww had a lovely 6 nights here in December. Jolly Harbour is very convenient for families with its supermarket, swimming pool (very good size), cash machines, bus to St John's etc. The houses here are a mixture of holiday lets and permanent homes .The golf cart is very useful and my girls loved their ride on it as we made our way to the pool.I would recommend hiring it - it uses very little petrol. The bus to St John's is quick, easy and cheap and you can get buses to other parts of the Island. The girls spent hours in the pool and the bar next door (Crows Nest) did nice lunches with reasonably priced kids meals. North Beach is very close and very quiet / pretty It was covered in lovely shells. South beach is busier but good for a swim / cocktails etc. The villa is clean, spacious and well maintained. The aspect to the water is lovely. We saw pelicans and various exotic looking fish just outside. In terms of trips - we did the sting ray City - my youngest daughter (9) was too scared to get in the water as they are very large - however, my other daughter liked it (10). We also hired a car and went to variousbeaches - Half Moon Bay is very uncommercial and good for snorkelling . My favourite beach was Pigeon Beach near Nelson Harbour - lovely for children, lots of shade, good for snorkelling, great cafe and a little park. Going back to the villas - the owners were always helpful and very friendly - I thought it was good value for money and a very good base for a holiday in Antigua.

What a Wonderful Time
What a Wonderful Time
We stayed in this Jolly Harbour villa for 2 weeks in February and had an absolutely wonderful stay. We especially enjoyed that it is on the North Finger and away from most of the hustle and bustle. We also spent most of our beach time at North Beach and often were the only ones there. The villa was very comfortable and clean and had every amenity that we could need. The Omands were extremely pleasant to work with and answered all of our questions and concerns. Jolly Harbour contains almost everything one would need: superb grocery store, drug store, banks, bars, restaurants, shops and accessibility to boat tours. We had no need to look for anything we needed anywhere else. Everything is available at the Epicurean market. We would highly recommend renting the golf cart with the villa. It makes it very convenient to get to the commercial area without walking for 15 minutes. It is much less expensive and renting one at the commercial center when they are available. There is easy access to taxis and it is simple to catch the bus at the main entrance and go to St. Johns. From there one can connect to a bus almost anywhere on the island. We visited the produce market in St. Johns several times and took a bus to Nelson's Dockyard. We would highly recommend a stay at this villa. There is no need to look anywhere else for a relaxing, quiet vacation.

Wonderful HolidayGuest comment entered by owner
Speriamo di tornare a Antigua in futuro Dear James and Teresa, we went home and we want to tell you that we spent a wonderful week at Jolly Harbour, the house is beautiful and comfortable, and we think the beaches in the area are the most beautiful amongst those we saw in Antigua. Thank you for all the advice you gave us, you were most helpful. We hope to come back in Antigua in the future!

My husband and I just returned from this villa and highly recomend it. It is in the Jolly Harbor Marina Villa's which is a charming residential area, very pretty and safe neiborhood with shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket. The villa is just as pictured - clean and comfortable. We enjoyed many dinners siting on the deck watching the moon and stars and occasional boat glide by. This is a very relaxing vacation spot but you can go over to Jolly Harbour Resort or one of the bars for socializing - or venture out down the amazing beach road to Co Co's or OJ's - or the new state of the art Sugar Ridge resort across the street which has no charm compared to Jolly Harbour. Everything you have heard about the Antiguan beaches is true - they are beautiful. The "north" beach is around the canal from the villa and was our favorite. It is like a cove with that beautiful turquoise water that you just melt into. If you want water sports, vendors and a bar (yes, Castaways) go over to the "south" beach. Rent the golf cart - if you don't have a boat it is the way to get around, it may be slow but a fter a few days under the Antiguan sun slow is the way you will go. Thersea was very helpful and imformative - ask her anything - I did!

Lovely villa in quiet North Finger Jolly Harbour!
Lovely villa in quiet North Finger Jolly Harbour!
The owners & HBK coordinated perfectly to smoothly deliver key after the office closed. The villa far exceeded expectations/photos-it was spotless. The owners meticulously posted operating instructions for everything. We recommend the hire of their golf cart @ 1/2 the price elsewhere. We even met the neighbors, being dumb enough to postpone refueling; the depot ran out of fuel, as did we. The neighbor came to our rescue next day; with fuel can & my husband hanging off the back of his ATV for dear life to the depot. The deck is a nice evening place to enjoy nature, watch lights & stars come on, & Sunday Bloodies on upstairs balcony is lovely & breezy. The complex landscaping is vibrant & painstakingly maintained! We called to inquire re JH shuttle bus schedule & HBK sent him right over! They run every ½ hour & cost approx. $2 EC. Two lovely restaurants between S & N Fingers are Melini’s (free WiFi) & Peters, in between little Yacht Club offers afternoon cocktail chats with yachties. Don’t write off the Dogwatch Tavern as a sports bar, Wed. night a group meets for line/ballroom dancing. Another night saw an excellent steel drum musician @ outside restaurant. We loved Castaways for sunset with delicious, all-round menu. HBK chairs @ Castaways are free but if chained, grab a vacant one. Rounding out all are lovely shops & the supermarket across the road offers fresh tomatoes & locally grown lettuce. I recommend OJ’s & Turner’s on SW coast road but check cruise schedule to avoid crowds. The Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Institute was my favorite lunch experience-call for directions/schedule. Don’t refuse the Pineapple Cheesecake; the London Broil (med. rare) was perfect. Catch the bus across the road from s/market to city to connect to English Harbor/Nelson’s Dockyard & enjoy a cook drink on the shady waterfront lawn of Admiral’s Inn. Shop the city market for local veggies/fruits (Antiguan Pineapples); the fish market & stop @ Roti King for great local lunch. The cruise ship area offers a nice grouping of shops/cafes. There are not enough days to see all the different excellent beaches. Rent a car to enjoy lovely Fig Tree Drive & the Shirley Heights extravaganza. My husband reluctantly admitted he was glad I insisted on the Circumnavigate with Wadadli. A day at the JR A.I. would be nice for those with kids needing R & R but we had it all right where we were. 2 weeks is not enough to experience all Antigua has to offer.

Firstly, what a lovely place Antigua is but more importantly let me comment on how impressed I was with the villa rental. Set in the superb Jolly Harbour Resort, it has pretty much everything you would need for a relaxing beach holiday. The villa is extremely spacious with all mod cons and superb air conditioning. Set slightly away from the main centre point of the community you still get that vibrant feel. Clean and extremely well decorated, the villa cannot be faulted. Superb atmosphere to have an evening in on the veranda on a warm evening. I would say that the hire of the golf buggy is a must! Probably between a 10-15 minute walk to the main conveniences (restaurants, bars and supermarkets), the golf buggy aids you here. Do bear in mind that the hire of the owneres buggy is far cheaper that one hired from the main rental shops in the village and so for around £10 a day, it is extremely good value. The resort/harbour village is impressive. The golf course is nice and extrememly reasonable (roughly £60 for the round inc buggy and clubs) and is tucked into the hills surrounding the harbour. The shops and supermarket area are all central to the villas and provide all the choices you would want in grocery shopping. Prices are fairly expensive but that said the local produce is quite sparse. However, I would say that when arriving in the harbour get a feel for the restaurants surrounding the yacht club bar. Dennies is loving and superb service. Very reasonable too. Pete's does a mean steak and huge portions too. A lot of choice. For thoses who prefer slightly more western food or want to enjoy a hearty meal besides the beach go to Castaways. Karaoke and Curry Nights are fun and he beer is cold. Right on Jolly Beach, through renting the above villa, sunbeds are free to clients and temperatures are nice with a gentle breeze coming from the west coast. Do stay for the sunset, it is something. As fr the island itself, there isnt a lot to see but the atmosphere and buzz makes up for it. I was lucky to be there for the Haiti Charity conert at Nelson's Dockyard. Blessed with so much history the Dockyard is superb and neighboured by English Harbour. Young and vibrant. In all there is a lot to talk about but the most noticable thing is the amount of relaxation one gets in the resort. Whether it be in the resort or on the beach you always feel safe and no one hassles you.

Owner response: We have expanded our information pack to include "Things to do and see in Antigua". We hope this will help our villa renters get the most of their holiday. Antigua has a lot to offer from 365 beaches to historical sites such as Nelson's Dockyard to the adventures such as Rainforest Canopy tour and of course, sailing.
